Yeah…though it was kinda cringe that he’s coasting in the truck while his father is pushing WTAF! Dad pushing, then much younger son Kyle should be pushing, dad should be steering.
Aging Wheel's intro of the vehicles and people in the race rules segment was incredibly well written. Jokes were very clever and relevant to each vehicle and person. I'm a normal person.
Each squad is chill until they start falling behind. It's pretty funny watching them get nervous like the others aren't going to be stopping for a long time too. LOL.
This is like watching a baking show when you are hungry! Now, I SO want to go on a long EV road trip. Can't wait to get my Silverado RST.

Driver is taking it too serious to be witty or fun. Which is fine, but less entertaining unless it pays off with a win. Kid seems like he had a lot to prove

Whatever vehicle that Kyle is in will win. He's the wildcard with the most experience when it comes to EV charging.
That was my thoughts too. Cybertruck has the smallest battery, but good efficiency and fast charging at more locations. Biggest concern is if they have no Tesla superchargers because the Cybertruck can not charge anywhere else yet.
oh I don't know, that Avalanche EV has better charging and a giant battery.
@@markrichards9792 I think that there are to many variables to rely solely on that. First consistency of charge rate. Yeah it can charge fast but finding a charger that will reliably give that rate (Tesla love it or hate it there chargers tend to be more reliable at giving peak charge rate). Second location of chargers. Tesla chargers tend to be better located and more numerous. A lot of other brands can be miles off of the interstate. That alone can be a detriment.
I can't believe the silverado isn't making more news. It's such a good EV truck. Huge battery, fast charging, long range, a lot of storage space, towing capacity. I've been really impressed so far. If they can get the price down a little I think it will be a huge seller.
Coz it’s just a Silverado as conventional truck that blends in with others except CT.
I don’t understand why they wouldn’t have had a tonneau cover…would definitely add range..like, upwards 10% ..with these miles..that’s significant
That's true, it is a great EV. However, GM isn't profitable with their EVs, so they probably don't have much interest to make them at scale.
@@canadiankrispybacon1450 Not sure how relevant this is but my 04 dodge ram hemi 4x4 has a rolling/sliding tonneau cover and the truck gets about 14 mpg with 3/4 of it being highway driving on stock wheels and tires. I feel like the cover might get me about 1/2 an mpg more tops.

Yeah I don't know why my fellow US drivers have such bad lane discipline, it's not uncommon where I live to see some douchebag pull alongside a semi and match speed blocking anyone from getting past them

I don’t know why I love these long road trip videos, but I really love to veg out on a relaxing Sunday evenings by watching these. Over the past year, I have watch a dozen of these 2 hour videos from end to end.
Also, this video reminds me of my own Ocean to Ocean trip I just did in my Tesla Y a few months ago.

I love the geek on power charging, esp with most EV users not understanding that arriving with %1 or %2 levels means you charge so much faster. Just went Seattle to Kansas City on a tesla 3 and even on the highways tesla has the best charging network. Love this and will recommend!

You mention how expensive the Silverado is but it is $50,000 cheaper then your Cybertruck!

Seeing as how stripper work trucks used to be in the higher twenties to low thirties it’s still a lot of money. I realize the dollar has been destroyed this millennium. But that doesn’t negate the fact that it’s still a large business expense.

Not sure if anyone commented on the need for a tonneau cover for the Chevy to improve the range, always worked on the ICE version or drop the tailgate. Can’t believe I watched the whole video, best movie I have seen in a while. Thank you.
Drop tailgate actually hurts aerodynamics. Lots of research on this.

@@davidbeppler3032 MythBusters episodes 43 and 64, driving with the tailgate up improves fuel efficiency more than driving with the tailgate down
Does not help. Tried this in the 90's with a Silverado...Mythbusters confirmed it 20 years later.

When the V3s came online, it's a hop from V3 to V3. When V4 comes online, it will be a hop from V4 to V4 in the 800 Volt architecture.

You drove through my part of the world. Love charging at Marianna, FL (Dickey's BBQ), I live next to the Bucc-ee's and you got the GOLD treatment.
The charging industry REALLY needs to standardize kw/h markings the same way octane is marked at gas pumps.

1:26:25 - Tesla would know what kind of vehicle is plugged in to each stall by the handshake. They could eventually know to declare an adjacent stall unusable based on that. If the eight stalls were labeled 1-8 when looking forward at them, and a Lightning is in stall 2, using stall 1's cord, it could know to declare both stalls 1 & 2 in use.
Another lightning can use stall 2
1 good thing about the Silverado is that the charging port is on the driver side rear just like Tesla. So it will fit in better at the superchargers without all the shenanigans.

And yet Rivian, with a 2 year lead time on their next models, are going with the right rear. And you wonder why the most highly funded startup in American history is struggling to make it with its stock down over 90%. Who's making those decisions? Can you imagine the decisions that go on behind the scene?

I like how Kyle talks about charging as "juicing up " the vehicle. In the 1970's, Hot Wheels came out with the Sizzlers, which were electric car toys that used the Juice Machine to recharge. My childhood has evolved to the modern world! 😅

It's interesting how close they are this far into the trip. My guess is that charger issues will be the major decider.
For any road trip prep on windshield use RAIN X windshield oil. Wipe on liberally with rag, wipe off with water wet rag. You will never need to turn wiper on ever !
