A good locksmith should be able to reprogram your key from the new car into the ECU for the swap. I found this out with the RSX I sold because the computer it came with was shot. The key to success here is the TRANSPONDER that goes with the swap ECU (black circle he put the key zip tied into). You need to install the new transponder from the swap over the ignition cylinder of the new car and have them program the key into the ECU. I did this and was successful, a company I work with makes software to do this and so it proves you shouldn't have to go to a Honda/Acura dealer 👍 So it's the transponder that ECU is looking for, any key can be programmed in.
