This "identifying" thing is so weird. "I can't identify with this character because they aren't the same sex/race/whatever as me." I mean, do they not realise exactly what they sound like?
Which is fair. But let's assume for a second that society has "always" consisted of two genders: Male and Nonbinary. Every day you are confronted by those two categories. Bathrooms, forms, you driver's license, everything requires you to put yourself in one of those two boxes. Everyone else seems to be fine with that. They don't have to consciously think for a second about that. But you don't really feel conmected to either. You are definitely not male, so you choose nonbinary. But everytime you go to the bathroom or fill out some form, you are reminded that you don't really fit into society. It gets tiring. You think about it because you don't have to. But that is not true for everyone. If you cannot imagine someone being bothered by that, it's your lack of empathy that's showing. They are telling you, but you refuse to listen.

I'm going to put this comment here in hopes it brings some clarity to why this is such an issue with young women specifically not identifying with their own bodies. I never talk about this.. but I think it's important that young women and men are not sent to a health professional who is out of touch. Through my youth and teens I was a tomboy. I went through a lot of childhood trauma and always felt disconnected from my body and hated how I looked. Puberty was very stressful for me, granted it is stressful for all young people, but growing and getting unwanted attention made me on edge all the time. I felt a constant need to protect myself. Even though I'm considered attractive and feminine by the outside world I never felt like a real woman (I am a woman by the way.. born that way 😁) It took me a long time to date.. I started dating a guy at 24.. I thought he was good but he ended up being very violent. After a serious domestic violence incident that lasted over a month I was finally able to escape the house I was being held at and start the healing process. At first I saw a psychologist who instead of treating the underlying cause of my extreme weight loss and disconnection from my body, said she believed I had gender dysphoria. I was in such a frail state, and looking to feel better that I started to think there was something deeply wrong with me and how I was born.. which is such a dangerous thing to put into someone's head when they completely detached from reality. I felt very distant.. like I was watching my life unfold from a distance. I am a very strong willed person but I was broken and not able to question this at the time. Lucky for me that psychologist moved away and the only person available to see in my rural area was a childhood and adolescent Psychiatrist.. even though by this time I was 25 she read my file and showed interest. Within 3 sessions she had made a plan for CBT and talk therapy for my childhood trauma and recognised all the sexual trauma I was put through, and saw my body issues as something different. Body dysmorphia. I was so obsessed with not drawing attention to my womanly appearance and not feeling weak that I starved myself for years. I was given a diagnosis of Body Dysmorphia and PTSD.. gender dysphoria was completely thrown out by this amazing psychiatrist. She also made sure every possible thing was checked, from my thyroid, if I was low on any nutrients in my body, she even had an MRI done to make sure I had not had any trauma to my brain during the DV. She connected me with an Aboriginal women's group.. and it was there I actually really started to flourish and love and embrace my femininity. It took 5 years for me to recover from this.. and if I had not received help from the right person, I could have ended up much more damaged. If I was convinced to go down the transgender path I believe I wouldn't be here today. Some people genuinely do have gender dysphoria but they are such a small group of people.. it is so important that people are assessed properly and all possibilities and history is taken into account. I am 35 now, healed, strong and love my figure. It's been a long journey. I believe many young women falling into the non binary need help with self love.. and to understand they are safe and perfect as they are. That the feminine is powerful in its own amazing way. That not all people are going to take advantage of them.. and that you don't have to fit into stereotypes to be a woman. We are all unique.. some of us like stilettos and dresses, others like boots and trucks.. some like both. If you read this, thank you for taking the time.
First off, I am happy you healed. You are worth it! Second, I wonder what the percentage of non binary "females" have been SA'ed. If this madness was around when I was young I probably would have fallen into it. I am a very manly female. Sometimes people accidentally call me sir, which does suck but I'm not offended. I choose to not wear makeup or be feminine which doesn't make me less of a woman. You are correct, we are all different.
Thank you for sharing this story, I'm glad that you healed and you sound like an amazing woman, you're definitely right that every woman is different and doesn't have to be the same, I'm glad that you got the help that you needed and that person moved away.
A fun fact is that nonbinary people have actually been around for a long time. Even in some indigenous cultures! It's not just within the last 5 years that it's popped up. I've even met people who are middle aged and non binary!
It is exhausting using they/them pronouns because being self absorbed, having every interaction in your life all about YOU is meant to be exhausting because we aren’t supposed to live that way.
I don't think those 2 would even consider going into men's bathrooms. And why would they care about the women in the bathroom. Is not like you have to be friends with people in the bathroom.
It's not about educating people, it's understanding that they don't care and how it's only important to the narcissist pushing it. They aren't telling you the pronouns they use (I, myself) , they are telling you the pronouns they demand you use for them. Big difference.
First of all, no one cared until they wanted to put men in women's rooms and don't feel the need to hide their manhood, let them compete against women, or were trying to push the agendas down children's throats. I worked in a straight bar 15 years ago in a subarb bar. No one cared. It wasn't until they wanted to push this onto children and taken spots away from cis women and their private spaces
Demi Lovato is NOT a good example of how non binary are. Celebrities should NEVER be how you see people no matter how real the celebrity is due to the fact they simply have a higher life. Not saying they aren't people however whenever they are speaking on opressive issues a grain of salt is needed. Demi is blowing things WAY out of prop, in fact most mainstream non binary will because people basically tell them that their identity is the most important thing. However with most non binary people you'll meet irl they literally won't bother correcting you half the time, they would prefer if you used their pronouns however it is the least of their problems. The entire non binary community isn't like this. Most of them literally just are like "aww man, oh well" whenever there isn't a gender neutral bathroom available. They are literally only going to have a problem if your being rude to them for being non binary which is pretty understandable Media is only going to cover gay people whenever they are outrageous or doing something bad or blowing things out of proportion. However most of us dont give a shit half the time if you accidentally call us she instead of he, or it instead of they because most of us know that it isn't that big of a deal most the time. Honestly celebrities are probably not the best source of how a certain group acts And if a person irl is actually bitching you out for a pronoun mistake then just simply tell them that you have bigger problems then them and just walk away or find someone else to help you with something. Extremist exist in every community however a majority will never be that extreme Think of it like disney adults, some just go to the park every summer and others try to give birth at Disneyland. Actress was originally an offensive term itself. In 2001 I worked with a girl going to theater school & she said there was an enormous issue with people being referred to as "actresses" instead of actors, because actress isn't a "real thing." People who act are actors. It's the art of acting. Therefore if you act, you can only be an actor. She said that actress was invented so that women were given a fair chance at Academy Awards & things like that because if there wasn't separate awards for men & women, men would always win. I remember her explaining it using The Screen Actors Guild, as an example not being The Screen Actors & Actresses Guild.

We need another near world-ending calamity I guess.
There are more than enough real issues.
Drug addicts and homeless people are in far too large numbers, urban gang violence that feels like warzones, child abuse, child trafficking, sex trafficking, disabled people who are vastly ignored and face many struggles in society which not even woke people address, the extinction of animal species, the destruction of their natural habitat, climate change, social media and all the bs that comes from it, immigration that is uncontrollable, the rapid downspiral of mental health decline amongst young people.
There’s plenty of problems we can work on together to fix. But its easier to divide people and keep the powers that be.

This "identifying" thing is so weird. "I can't identify with this character because they aren't the same sex/race/whatever as me."
I mean, do they not realise exactly what they sound like?
@@CaesarLvcivs Again as I said before in the comments here, it's ego.
They always talk in a condescending way to people as well. "I can't identify with this character" you're not supposed to. It's not you on the screen.

Thing is, if they changed Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress, in to Best Act and Best Supporting Act, that's immediately two people not getting something AND if they made that change, we all know who would keep winning those "non-gendered awards", don't we?
They don't need to have less categories they just need to add best nonbinary act or something like that. The other categories would remain the same.
@@AprilReigns18Gee I sure wonder who would win that soarse category. It's not like the number of genderspecial actors cam be counted on one hand or anything...
@@xFlareLeon I have no idea who would win. But adding categories is better than taking them away.

Even though I'm considered attractive and feminine by the outside world I never felt like a real woman (I am a woman by the way.. born that way 😁)
It took me a long time to date..
You are correct! Make a video so we can share it!
Thank you for sharing this story, I'm glad that you healed and you sound like an amazing woman, you're definitely right that every woman is different and doesn't have to be the same, I'm glad that you got the help that you needed and that person moved away.
we need that line highlighted "you don't have to fit into stereotypes to be a woman"
You’re absolutely right, thank you for sharing. I’m so happy for you! You’re a phenomenal woman in my books!✊🏽
"I am they/them" reminds me of a Bible verse:
Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” “My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.”
I promise you she refuses to use the bathroom when she knows theres a trans person in there
Win all the awards, if you’re the only one in the category
They are literally only going to have a problem if your being rude to them for being non binary which is pretty understandable
Media is only going to cover gay people whenever they are outrageous or doing something bad or blowing things out of proportion. However most of us dont give a shit half the time if you accidentally call us she instead of he, or it instead of they because most of us know that it isn't that big of a deal most the time.
Honestly celebrities are probably not the best source of how a certain group acts
And if a person irl is actually bitching you out for a pronoun mistake then just simply tell them that you have bigger problems then them and just walk away or find someone else to help you with something. Extremist exist in every community however a majority will never be that extreme

I just can't understand how we can be more inclusive by segregating people into multiple subcategories. It's a cognitive dissonance that inevitably leads to madness...
I've also been thinking about that. Other people fought tooth and nail to get out of segregation, and yet now people are wishing for it upon themselves?
I thought about this as well. Maybe im the crazy one, but here goes.
For the sake of argument, let's say there are currently 70 genders. I know, i know, it could be potentially infinite as new ones are being made up, i mean, "discovered" all the time, but let's work with 70 for now.
There exists Gender Transition Surgery where you can become your new gender. With so many choices to choose from, why is it that people only ever transition into the gender opposite of what they were born as, aka, the only other option?
Alao, cutting your dick off doesn't make you a woman anyway, so.....yea.
Also, also, if boobs and stuff dont make you a woman, then why do they get breast implants when men transition to women? I thought those didnt matter. Thats a lot of effort for something that doesnt matter.@FrenchDinosaur
Leads to madness? THIS IS MADNESS.
There's nothing wrong with categorising people... it's actually very natural to do so.
Sharks are different to Gorilla, Gorillas are different to Humans, Men are different to Women, Women are different to Girls, Ladies with brown hair are different to Ladies with blonde hair.
You can keep segregating endless, and it's the very natural to do so.
People who don't identify with the categories they are in... are just wrong.
It's not that you don't agree with the category within but the stereotypes that come with that category.
And rather than cancelling the culture of stereotyping, people have decided to cancel the culture of...telling people who you are (categorization).
Which is stupid.
At the very least, don't attempt to change the category of who you are, just: 1. ignore the fact that people are stereotyping you or 2. challenge them for stereotyping you.
It's like when you go to the gym and you put that 20kg dumbells in the 14kg dumbells slot... that's stupid, and annoying.

Yeah like just put them in the actor category or something. I don’t know why we are getting rid of feminine words now. Like he proud to be a woman!
No, it never has been. When that word was first used for thespians, ALL roles were played by males. The word actress was invented when women were finally allowed to perform on the stage. Therefore, it represents an historic victory for women & is empowering. The attempt to erase it is part of the attempt to erase the history & entitlement of human females.
