I ate a whole bag frozen vegetables carrots,broccoli, cauliflower it’s 300 kcal a lot of veggies. Steamed it. ❌❌❌❌I had zero cravings for junk, I was full and happy!!! Try it ,

    Wow. This is so informative!!...
    Ever since having my Daughter 14 years ago, I can’t lose weight for the life of me and ever since having my Son 4 years ago, I not only continue to struggle with losing weight. But I have a laundry list of other issues that I’ve never experienced before-
    (ie: dry hair/skin, loss of hair, fatigue/lack of motivation, digestive problems, low libido, cystic acne, MELASMA and strong/odd smelling urine).
    * I drink 1/2 gallon of lemon/cucumber water a day.
    * I don’t over eat. If anything, I don’t eat enough. (But when I do, I either crave sugar or salt. No in between).
    * I’m a stay at home Mom & constantly on the move. Sometimes going straight from 8am to 11pm without sitting. (Unless it’s to go to the Bathroom).
    * I take a multivitamin, zinc, vitamins D3 and C daily.
    And I just don’t understand what’s happening to me/my body. I don’t know if there’s any significance to this. But I am on a hormonal IUD, I have an under active Thyroid and take 150 mcg of Levothyroxine and I’m definitely affected by stress; as I’m not only grieving the loss of both parents and my dog. (All of whom passed away within less than 2 years of each other). But I’m also dealing with some major stress surrounding the 3 year nightmare we’ve been in since hiring a fraudulent, unscrupulous Contractor to rebuild the 2 main floors in our home that were demoed due to a flood & subsequent mold growth.
    Not to mention all the stress factors that come along with life in general and being cooped up in the house due to COVID.
    Although, I find it difficult to believe this is associated with stress. I really in truly feel there’s a serious imbalance going on.
    Which I’ve brought to my OBGYN’s attention. (Requesting a hormonal panel).
    But he told me it couldn’t be an imbalance because my IUD evens them out.
    Curious what your thoughts are.
    Especially with respect to the Hormonal IUD. If this “mutes out the others”, would
    it be safe to assume you’d recommend an alternative BC Method?

    • @DrBethWestie
      @DrBethWestie  3 года назад +2

      I’ve used DUTCH testing on many women on various forms of birth control, including an IUD and have found significant information that can help us understand what’s going on. Especially when it comes to cortisol. Your OB is just going to run a blood test, which isn’t comprehensive enough and doesn’t include cortisol.

    I take DIM (100mg cap. 1x a day -AM) & a phytoestrogen complex + progesterone cream (PM) - that combo has been a gamechanger for me.
    I was having 6 hot flashes daily (1 in the middle of the night), even though I was taking the phytoestrogen complex for a year, a month ago it seemed to quit working. By the third dose of DIM, my hot flashes were cut in half, by the 5th dose they were completely GONE!!! I love that it's so good for me & that it works! I have always been fit & I am still very active but in the past year I have developed a spare (bike) tire that hides my six-pack abs - I still have a 6 pack under there LOL... Hoping that the DIM will also help with that, may take a while.
    I sleep like a champion 99% of the time- approx. 7 hours a night. I have low stress ( Thank God) so I don't think cortisol is much of a factor.

    I have been on a rigorous supplement regime for 6 months. With the help of estrodim and testosterone cream, I have been able to raise my testosterone, progesterone is normal and estrogen is finally normal but just barely. My dr says my cortisone is too low now? My adrenals are tanking even with help of adrenal support. My thyroid is “normal” but she may put me on medication if this last ditch effort doesn’t work. Problem is, my body is not absorbing nutrients and even my supplements are helping. She said it could be a gut issue so we have cut gluten/dairy/soy etc. to see if that helps. Do you think there could be another reason my body isn’t absorbing nutrients like iron, protein, etc? I am eating so clean and lots of supplements

    • @DrBethWestie
      @DrBethWestie  3 года назад

      I would highly recommend a comprehensive gut test. If your gut isn’t absorbing, then it doesn’t matter what type of supplement protocol it is, it won’t help if your body can’t absorb it. Gut & hormone issues are so intertwined it’s really tough to treat one without the other and expect progress.

    • @DrBethWestie
      @DrBethWestie  4 года назад +2

      It’s hard to say without knowing more. Belly fat is usually due to a build up of excess hormone, from both imbalance & cortisol. If your adrenals are struggling, then intense exercise can make it worse. I’d recommend getting your hormones tested to see what’s going on: drbethwestie.com/dutch-hormone-testing/

    Hi Dr. Westie, I am 68 years old and I have been taking the bioidentical hormone creams for nearly 20 years. I have been pretty healthy and fit but in the last year and a half I have started to gain weight around my midsection and on my breasts. This is crazy because I eat very healthy, do intermittent fasting plus I exercise regularly. I am confused because I'm getting different messages from different doctors about estrogen. Some say I have too much estrogen and others say I need to take more of my bioidentical hormone estrogen. Which one is it? Also, is this something I should continue or should I get off of these bidetical hormones? I also am hypothyroid and have been taking thyroid medication for about the same length of time. I would love to have a phone call with you if it's possible. How do I go about doing that? Is there a charge for the call? Thank you! Maggie

    Hello! My doctor tested my hormone panel, my progesterone was pretty low due to high amounts of stress. I am starting bioidentical progesterone on day 12 of my next cycle. He also gave me something for adrenal support and I feel like a whole new woman!!! I started working out in May to help with stress and to help me lose weight, I'm losing inches around my belly and hips but I still have a pretty big belly. Will it start to budge once I start the progesterone? I need to be consistent with my diet too, I'll admit!

      @@AR-mu4zq wow! I forgot about this. So I ended up getting pregnant and had to stop the progesterone. I still take the adrenal support on days I don't have a good night's sleep (which is often cause of baby haha). I had to make a lot of tweaks to my daily life. I try to move 15-30 min a day, usually something gentle. I cut out dairy except for butter. I don't eat sugar or highly refined carbohydrates. Weight loss has been slow but steady. I am now past my pre-baby weight. With my hormones the way they are I just accepted it will take me awhile. I still seem to hold most around my middle, that is where I've been working on my pelvic floor and my core strength to help "tighten up". Again it's been slow but I'm so happy it's in a downward trajectory! I can't take the progesterone again until I stop breastfeeding so we'll see!

      @@DrBethWestie Yeah I ended up eating carbs because of some of the side effects and I felt a lot better and it made me think as you have said in other videos that the keto seems suspiciously advocated by men who don’t have our hormone fluctuations.
