Just 15 minutes into the ceremony we heard jets approaching from the north. There was a chance of jets landing for Saturday training but we never expected the Blue Angels to be returning from North Carolina that day. The bride didn't want a live singer anyways so it worked out for the best!
Sorry for the poor video quality. This is the only video that shows the Blue Angels...at first we didn't realize it was even them until it was almost done. Two days prior at the rehearsal walk-through, other jets were landing but we were told they didn't train on Saturdays so no worries. That's why there was some confusion at first and the videographer hired for the wedding kept it on us the entire time. The photographer snapped some good photos of the Blues landing though.

@Blue Moon Window Cleaning no, that’s the Pensacola naval air station. Jets take off and land there all day every day. The angels aren’t based there but they do an air show every year there and they spend several days prior to the show practicing. The angels don’t do weddings so it was pure coincidence.
The Blue Angels are based there. It was there return after a show in North Carolina and yes, it was pure luck on the timing.

How exciting!!! That would have been the highlight of my day! If you've never been to a Blue Angels air show and actually got to meet them, you don't know what you are missing. They are superb!! :-)

I was on the board of directors at our local air museum located on an Air Force base and we coordinated the dedication of an actual former Blue Angels #1 aircraft with an air show scheduled for the next two days. The public relations guys found out about it and stood at the back of the tent and as the invocation was finished made a call on a radio and the Blue Angels started their practice moments later with us under the flight path. It wasn’t always easy to hear the speakers or the former members speaking, honoring their commander who flew the aircraft, but it was certainly impressive.

The Blue Angels used to do a maneuver that drew a heart in the sky until 1985 when the two solo pilots crashed into each other killing Blue Angel #6 LCDR Mike Gershon. Both planes crashed but Blue Angel #5 was able to eject.
