  • After years 18 years of living with PMDD (undiagnosed until 2016!!) in May 2019 I underwent a total hysterectomy and BSO in a hope of giving myself a chance at the life I had always dreamed of. A few months back I was honoured to be asked to share my story in a new book - Surgical Menopause - Not Your Typical Menopause.
Want to read more - you can purchase the book here:
    www.amazon.co.uk/Surgical-Men...
I chose to share my story to help others feel less alone 💚
This is my journey and mine alone, told from my perspective, in my words.

    Hi Emily,
Just recently come across all your videos, one in particular that has possibly given me the missing piece/answer to my Pmdd journey, journey sounds to nice so il say journey slash suffering :(
I’m in the Uk and most possibly heading towards having a total hysterectomy myself,
I just wondered is there a way to contact you directly for questions, advice etc?
    Is this a possibility?
I’m under a specialist consultant but the lack of care, help and advice has been non existent to be completely honest, it would be nice, also reassuring to engage with someone who has lived and breathed this experience first hand
    Hope your well :) x

Hi Claire, thanks for reaching out sorry that you too have been on such a difficult journey.
I am on Twitter @periodspower - DMs are open. Otherwise you might find what you are looking for at IAPMD.org they are a wonderful charity based on Canada but with lots of UK professionals and also people with lived experience working for them, they have tonnes of resources and also have peer support options available. Best wishes Emily x

Thank you for your reply ❤️
Could I ask where you were treated, was it at a private hospital or NHS? x x
