As a relatively new mw player, the hardest part for me was trusting ancient teachings. I’m used to melee as I’ve mained hpala, but understanding where fistweaving through ancient teachings is enough to heal the party and where I need to incorporate other spells was a big learning curve. Dungeon knowledge helps a lot with this.
HPal is so unhelpful to transfer from. I love Hpal, but its do damage and you now have combo points which you can spend on healing. Which is very very very very very different than, "i hit the mob, I healed a friend". The learning curve to trust is I think the one that sneaks up on you as you learn and push keys as MW

Nice video. I agree with pretty much everything. One specific comment I would like to make is around Sheilun's Gift. There is a talent in our tree that I never see people take or talk about and that is Shaohao's Lessons. I mainly raid with my fistweaver so maybe that's why. I agree that you shouldn't be over relying on Sheilun's but I also think that Veil of Pride disguises your over reliance. In my experience, as you get to know your class and fights better, you can use Sheilun's more proactively, casting it at 4 clouds (32 second charge time). The amount healed is still pretty good, you have less overhealing with it, and it sets you up perfectly for your next Chi-Ji window because of the 12 second buff Shaohao's provided and you can use this talent with every other cast of Chi-Ji. This further supports your point about optimizing Ancient Teachings. And, if you are using it proactively, you can have a ~37% uptime throughout a fight. The key to a good fistweaver is staying ahead of damage/keeping up with damage. Our tools in hairy situations are few so making Ancient Teachings hit like a truck is paramount. Now, at the time of writing this we are currently in season 4 on our way to The War Within. But I would like to see a video or have a conversation that considers Shaohao's Lessons. Also, Master of Harmony is looking pretty dope. Curious to know your thoughts.

Great Video to MW with some good tipps but i have one thing to add: Although the Gust of Mists procs from Chi-Ji do get doubled from the essence font hot, it makes only really sense to use that in cleave (2-3 targets) situations, since it procs from every target hit by blackout-kick which adds up quickly. In ST situations however i would recommend to not rely on the Gusts of Mists procs and rather focus on spreading the healing buff from enveloping mist/breath from chi-ji paired with vivify cleave and a big rising sun kick heals. Thats because most mistweaver run as little mastery as possible in keys, since it doesnt affect our dmg and therefore our dmg to healing conversion. So use Chi-Ji in St situations earlier to get one more enveloping mists out instead of using essence font and use it before chi-ji in cleave situations ^^
also a nice tipp for our set piece: Chi-Harmony carries *any* healing buff on the target into its saved healing. That means, that you can apply Chi-Harmony to Chromie in Galakronds Fall (who has a huge healing received buff on her), give her one instant vivify and watch how everyone with a renewing mist gets completely healed by that one vivify when the Harmony on her fades.

I did a 24 this past week and aimed 1 feline stomp the wrong way causing me to dodge spikes off of it and unable to reset it, thus not having ancient teachings momentarily…nearly caused us to wipe! I didn’t know the tier set bonus interacted with Chromie…
@@Nomihcit can definitely carry you through the phase and help you conserve a lot of mana, especially on high tyr weeks
did they patch that ghosts cant be healed by chi-ji or gift? came back from a work trip on that affix weak and was so used to never having to single target heal or dispell the ghosts cause chi-ji would just heal everything (and for gift I cant just self target i have to click on someone or a ghost to ensure they both get insta healed).

Any tips for going oom? It seems like a few essence fonts and rising sun kicks and I am oom on just a normal big pull. I can't tell if I'm doing something wrong or if what. This is my 3rd healer this season at 3k... pres and disc it's insanely rare to ever go below half mana even.
Mana tea! So not only do you wanna use this to restore mana, but use it before you plan on spending mana when possible. The best scenario is both, but restoring mana is important with it. That being said, even playing fistweaver you will use mana. So try to not re-apply your faeline/jadefire stomp unless you need it. Casting is huge throughput but costs a lot of mana. TFT doesn't make moves cost less other than Vifify. So if you thunder tea enveloping? You still use that mana. Rely more on your renewing mist and tier bonus to amp your fistweaving!
@@Bowserthehealer thanks for the reply! This gave me a lot to think about. Especially using Mana Tea. I didn't think to use it proactively when you know you are going to be spending a lot. I also definitely fish for the jadefire stomp resets because it's fun to mash that button but I should probably take the monk approach and slow down and find balance between it all. I will try some things out and see how it goes!
@@Bowserthehealer yeah these tips helped quite a bit! Using Mana Tea going into a pull so I can jadefire stomp, essence font, and rising sun kick as an opener without dropping a third of my mana. I think I also vastly underestimated the damage and healing that zen pulse does. Monks have a lot of buttons that aren't on cool down (unlike disc) so I would forget about zen pulse a lot, but that thing slaps. Thanks for the tips! I enjoy your videos a ton.

Playing my resto shaman main after a few keys on a MW is just insulting. We feel like a Vanilla class in comparison..
