I can only imagine the story for the Ghoul/Cooper is gonna be very heartbreaking once fully revealed. Though seeing him having to perform at a birthday party at what used to be his home already hurt without knowing the exact moment to moment details.
I don’t think that was his old house, his place was way bigger, just some nice Mid Century Style home, but knowing how big he was and to go from that to performing kids birthday parties in seemingly little time at all and having smug upper middle class guys calling him a pinko and snickering about alimony and him taking money he was owed to do that job at minimum I think his downfall in pre War society is going to be bad enough in itself, especially once we see how twisted his wife really is and how much power she seems to hold and not just being some cog in the Vault Tec machine
@zachhoward9099 I'd have to rewatch, the style looked very similar and it would have just really tied the whole personal downfall of Cooper with the downfall of the old world. Plus it wouldn't have surprised me that either someone from the company moved in on his ex wife after the divorce or someone bought his house after the spilt. It also depends how much the time frame from when they were married to splitting occurs, could be a couple years could be a few months 🤷♂️ either way, still love the show and can't wait for season 2
@mcdonciii yeah they mention he has alimony payments, I imagine next season we end up seeing him confront her about her actual role in the company and being willing to nuke innocent people to make money. Might be the reason he even gets to have custody of his daughter, as blackmail to not say anything to the public about the truth that's coming and another personal reason he doesn't want to do the thumbs up anymore as it reminds him of her and her role of putting into the mascot position.
At 11:05 the claim is Maximus survived the bombing of Shady Sands in 2077, but Maximus was in the present time period 219 years later. The initial bombs dropped in 2077 when Cooper was still an actor. 2077 was when the initial bombs were dropped. It was a huge plot point that even after the initial fallout, 200 years later humans were still willing to drop huge bombs on each other again
Think its just a mistake, as when they are in vault 4 in the show, they have the dates, and its like 2276 / around there/ just after when it shows the nuclear mushroom on the blackboard / chalkboard.
@@brianlong2334for what i understood Hank dropped the bomb on Sandy Shore when his wife left and found out that 34k people formed a city and civilization was back. So i guess the bomb was trown some 20 years from the current date
@bigmsg1283 I keep seeing references to 15 years before NV / after it, I'm sure we will find out next season anyway. It's not 100% the same as the games, obviously, but that's to be expected.
Even in the games Vault Tech was shown to be completely effed up. Especially in all the terminals at the vault tech main buildings. One of the terminals mention them starting the nukes to fall
@@combativestelth6105 It's been heavily implied for a while now that vault-tec dropped the bombs. This show finally confirms it. I love how the show ties all of the games together even though there are some lore inconsistencies.
Kind of. Umbrella corporation was always evil. Vault-Tec was over ran and turned evil to increase profits and share holders demands. In the games you have to bridge the gaps of when vault tec was good and when exactly it was turned evil. Where in Resident Evil it was always given that Umbrella corporation was evil secretely.
@@mortagon1451 I think in the game, vault tec escalated the war between china and the U.S. they didnt actually drop the bomb. In Fallout 3 you get in the actual chinese nuclear submarine that may have set off the first bomb. But its implied that Vault Tec played devils advocate which is why it was so hard to pin point the blaim on them. In a way they were already controlling the war before the nuclear bombs dropped. The show makes it obvious that they dropped the bombs but its still unclear on who press the button first. If the show goes the games direction, they could still make it difficult to know who actually dropped the bombs. If Vault Tec implicitly dropped the bombs its easier to put the blaim on them and I think the show will probably not go that direction. I think more then likely we will learn that vault tec probably sent out a false order to the chinese to bomb the U.S. or possibly gave china false intel that the U.S. was going to strike first. For a corporation to actually own a nuclear weapon, those type of secrets are hard to keep secret.
Calling it now: Season 2 episode 1 will start with us seeing where Cooper went on the horse with his daughter, clearing up how they got separated from one another.
House:"Fredy-boy , you could lose money running a casino lol" Frederick Sinclair: *makes the sierra madre and shows House his casino running skills ... kinda*
Crazed ghouls are called "feral" in FO. I also think "The Ghoul" is quite OP here, regenerative powers, some invulnerability and some superhuman strength... to make it a good antagonist at the beginning.
Given all the weird mutations and tech in Fallout I don't think it's unreasonable that ghouls can have different levels of abilities. It was a bit jarring that they instantly thought the squire had turned into a ghoul when he regenerated from the arrow however.
They show several perks you acquire during game play. the ghoul definitely has cannibal, gunslinger, gun fu, ghoulish, Adamantium Skeleton, Toughness, and bloody mess, to name a few. Mainly agility and endurance related perks. Lucy has mostly charisma and intelligence perks and the BoS squire has Strength perks (he prefers melee) as he is just starting.
@@FunnieApple yeah, tbh Idk how to fully feel about it, I don’t know if there still an NCR but now weakened due to their capital being Nuked, maybe the plot for next season is that the NCR is trying to retake its former holdings and stuff but idk
@@prezmeji5641 I'm okay with it, I don't mind the retcon actually, and even though the nuke from Vault 33 may have been the nail in the coffin, the NCR was already falling apart 15 years prior to the events of the show in New Vegas. And the end of the show seems to confirm your hopes of the NCR remnants continuing to regain their foothold, but I doubt it would be successful or as big as it once was.
It was such a faithful adaption! It kept so much of the stylization, humor and horror, even the music- so many little details that made mechanical game sense and lore sense. Like you can guess the mc’s stats and builds. And the plot worked so well
**Possible Spoilers** Watched all 8 episodes last night as doon ss they dropped. Didn't go to bed til around 4:30am CST. But it was worth it. Loved the nod to New Vegas, how it didn't get repconned, NCR being prominent, the storytelling, everything about it literally everything, there were a couple things about the BoS I didn't like, other than that I give it a 9/10.
There are no lights on in New Vegas, that's why I think it's also no longer the New Vegas that we knew from the game. The last thing we see is the assaultrons from Mister House lying on the road.
As a die hard fan who came into this not expecting much, I have to say I am wildly impressed and can’t wait to see what season two has in store. Though I am still pondering how shady Sands was destroyed before the events of FNV…
I don’t think the “fall of shady sands” is referring to the nuke, I think it’s referring to the decline that’s implied by ncr troopers in NV after the first battle of hoover damn. My current theory is that after house and the courier deflate both the ncr and legion, Hank is aided by house to destroy shady sands, I mean why else would Hank flee to new vegas if house still isn’t alive?
@@laloTav1972 the fall is prolly refering how ncr is lacking manpower in mojave. And some said the elite ranger are chasing ghost down south or something while the troops are struggling to maintain mojave. And also the prison thing in FNV where i think NCR purposefully abandoned
Really appreciated being about to hear the explanation from someone who has clearly played the games! ❤️ thanks for making it so easy to understand and follow!! I’m excited for season 2!
11:06 Incorrect, the board marks that year as the beginning of their fall, with the arrow implying the decline over time. This year was also when the Battle for Hoover Dam occurs, which many, both in universe and in real life saw as the start of the NCR’s decline.
I mean.. Even before shady sands exists, they all already iridiated with some bits of nuclear radiation. The surface dwellers has some kind of radiation immunity. If it's small, they still can hold it and not turning into ghoul or even sudden death. Surface dwellers, by default, are more immune to radiation. How u think they all can live outside there? 😅 Radiation always moves. It follows winds too. Radiation from one region can be delivered to other places.
@@lorenzoramirez9890Watch the scene again smarts, their is an open vent behind him completely exposing him to the radiation, assuming it actually was a nuke it’s dumb.
The first 7 episodes were just nice worldbuilding, and the 3 last episodes literally flipped my understanding of Fallout up-side-down. I legit got goosebumps, mind blown. We all believed Vault-Tec were long gone, empty offices and such, the fact that the entire corporation of Vault-Tec is still alive and well in Vault 31 changes everything for Fallout 5.
0:11 Truth be told, I didn’t have the highest hopes at first, especially after some of the plot points were spoiled for me, but after watching the entire show, I gotta say, I really liked it and can’t wait for season 2😀! With that it mind, I still believe it would’ve been better to set the show in its own continuity rather then the continuity of the main game series.
@@Dead_Goatkeep looking for a shit to complain over you absolute cry baby. The show didn’t dump on fallout lore, it was extremely respectful of the lore. That's factually wrong. Where this vault supposedly is was supposed to be rebuilt pretty much at this point in the timeline. This is a massive retcon to that. It's broken most of the lore.

yep, I agree this is the best video game adaption ever. not only does it respect the video games, but went ahead and told a brand new story in the realm of this universe.
Shady Sands wasn't nuked in 2077....or 2277, it happened sometime between 2277 and 2296, as Shady Sands was still there in New Vegas which is still canon, the chalkboard was misleading.

Especially when if you pay attention, they used perks system to define characters abilities. (the ghoul literally uses cannibal perk to restore health)
Probably Q2 or Q3 2025. Filming starts in September, and another 6 or so months minimum of post production work. Amazon was able to keep most their bigger shows dropping a season a year on average (Boyz, Expanse etc), no reason to think this will be any different.
Personally as a fan of both The Last of Us and Fallout, I think Fallout beats The Last of Us show. Sure there was some things that seemed off for example on how The Ghoul had to take drugs from going feral which was never in the games but overall the story was worth the binge watch.
The last of us is just a retelling of the same story, the fallout show is a whole new story in the same universe, the fallout show is more impressive just for that
Watched it 1½ times now...solid 10/10. There is alot to say but only minor complaints...no bottlecap mines and I don´t like the new design and lore och the gulper.
I’m pretty sure the gulpers in far harbor are salamander whilst the ones in the show are axolotls , maybe the term gulper is just used to call mutated amphibians
@@Doogit52 It's like how there are different types of deathclaws and mirelurks. Fallout has always had variations of their creatures. I personally loved this gulper design and much more prefer it to the gulpers in Far Harbor.
@@Doogit52If you were paying attention the cyclops in vault 4 refers to the one gulper as his uncle, hence the human fingers in its mouth. They’re not mutated amphibians they’re hybrid species created by vault tec, that is what the show is saying.
I think they absolutely killed it. I’m a huge fallout fan and I was super sceptical at first, but they truly nailed the feeling of followed and I cannot wait for what comes next.
Wouldn't the dad recognize Moldaver in the beginning? Unless he was in on it. The show had me thinking that there was a cycle of vault 32 and 33 getting attacked by raiders to thin out the weak and have compost for their crops and all the elders were in on it.
Also if they WERENT raiders but the NCR why were they still acting “feral” and savage like raiders when they were caught and held prisoner. Not to mention we never see one raider or mention of raider factions or the legion even. Way too much focus on the brotherhood imo
I mean, probably the last nuke didn't land on the Long 15. Also, the big kaboom clearly happened after the fall. The fall is just Shady Sand's decline because the NCR was stretching thin af
Overall I really enjoyed it. They really got the grasp of Fallout. I like how the Brotherhood is now the dominant force in SoCal (being a massive BoS fanboy myself) but I'm not a fan of how they're sorta portrayed as pseudo bad guys. There were also a few changes in lore that did upset me a bit. I don't mind the Shady Sands being destroyed but its massively confusing how it happened in 2277. The same year as The First Battle of Hoover Dam. Meaning that Shady Sands was already destroyed by the time of New Vegas. When the NCR was at its peak. Still, I'm very excited to see what happens in New Vegas and how the actions of The Courier have affected the Mojave Wasteland (or maybe we'll even see him whether or not he's in Big MT). Given the portrayal of Mr House in the last episode, I'm betting the House ending is what becomes canon but we will see. I'm definitely gonna make another New Vegas play through with siding with House once I'm done with Fallout London.
Even though the chalkboard says the fall of Shady sands is 2277 they never explicitly say this is when the bombs fell so they could still make it fit the timeline. There's also the possibility that the guy who wrote it didn't know his history lol.
I never played the fallout games so when I saw the trailer to this show I thought maybe I wouldn’t understand it cuz I didn’t have any knowledge about the game.. so i was reluctant to watch the show.. but after seeing the plot twist storyline I’m hooked like Omg this is such an interesting original storyline with amazing acting. I’ve never seen a show that has this much going on. I wouldn’t even put it in the same box as normal end of the world type shows like walking dead, because the storyline in fallout seems way more thought-out with so many details & plot twists.. I can’t wait for season 2
The whole Shady Sands storyline makes no sense because it was founded by Vault 15 it was already a town it was already being built up as the NCR. If Vault 30 and 33 and 32 managed to blow up Shady Sands that means the NCR the heart of the NCR is gone before it came to be. That means areas like the hub took a huge hit.
@@erickrasniewski567this nuke basically killed the NCR before it was even a thing. And also you have to think of the ramifications of this nuke as well. Not only did the inhabitants of shady Sands founded the place but the great Khan's. They're gone as well because of this nuke a lot of factions are gone. Like a lot of factions within the area are gone the great Khan's new Reno the omertas. Hitting Shady Sands not only hit that but hit probably volt 8 volt city is probably gone
I'm not sure the enclave remnants are powerful enough to take on the BOS. Maybe if they get some help. I'm thinking that the remnants of the NCR is still out there and could be reunited to face the brotherhood.
This was incredible! We going to New Vegas next Szn and boy oh boy do we have a ton of source material. The score was incredible to ever single moment. The ending was such a positive watch. Called a few things and then others I was shook by. Truly gonna rewatch tomorrow 😂
@@youturd55 There's one supermutant in the show, in the Enclave facility you can see a green hand protruding from under a sheet covering a body on a gurney and there's a wanted poster of another one in the Govirnment office.
Here's my assumption. The second battle of Hoover dam ending up with NCR victory. But it seemed like NCR left the brotherhood of steel alone and not attack them further. Then later on, because of the NCR harboring too many enclave remnant, it was easy for the enclave to infiltrate and sabotage them from the inside. And for the look of it. Hank came and try to get both his wife and daughter back but fail to get his wife, he kidnapped his daughter and planted the bomb in secret. Blowing up the whole town. Back to BoS side, after Veronica open BoS up a little, they slowly yet hesitantly accept outsider into their rank. And when BoS cell in California spot the nuke, they immediately sent in the people to scrape up every resources the NCR have left. That's where they met Maximus and acquired enough resources to build the airship. With the reveal of control vault 31, the enclave are now have a new master to serve. The remnants once scattered now managed to regroup and established the new base. Ask for the supermutant disappearing, (aside from budget issues) lore wise, the NCR and BoS hunting them to near extinction left only Jacobtown as the last sanctuary for supermutant.
You can have any ending of New Vegas work if use the Tunnelers from Lonesome Road to explain the downfall. It would also play into the show's theme about controlling civilization being impossible. You can even have House survive any ending (in a fashion) if they bring in Synth tec. The airship though is explicitly the one from the east coast in the show.
it was fucking amazing, probably one of the best videogame adaptation, i don't get how this show could reminiscent of my Fallout 4 playthrough, it's so good, everyone who says it's bad probably Fallout : NV crybabies
@arszene4129 Or people that have different opinions than you and have valid criticism especially since it sort of shits on alot of Obsidian writing and the lore of the originals. Love Fallout 4 but NV is better in alot of ways and there are perks to Fallout 4 but the story is not one of them.
Absolutely loved the, finished one watch and now I'm doing another. Have some theories on the NCR and New Vegas from what the show has given and knowledge from games and such.
I am real glad Lucy decided to keep her fathers last name instead of using her mothers, Ginero, which she was known to do in the past when angry with her police father. He was absent a lot in her life growing up due to finding one too many days where he felt it was a good day to die hard. Or whatever.
Unlikely. Cooper & daughter were at a party when it started. Barb would not have allowed that to happen. Vault Tec was planning to start armageddon but were beaten to the punch.
But the problem is Yangtze she launched her missiles but I do recall a terminal at continual site saying they shot them down before more came and split into clusters

They nailed it. The nailed the moral dilemas and choices characters are forced to make. This is what made fallout a good video game.
I can only imagine the story for the Ghoul/Cooper is gonna be very heartbreaking once fully revealed. Though seeing him having to perform at a birthday party at what used to be his home already hurt without knowing the exact moment to moment details.
No dogs in the vaults, already heartbreaking😢
@@afunkymonke they got divorced? I must have missed that... I kept wondering where his wife is when the bombs are dropped
I got shivers down my spine when i saw the final frame
Yayyyy new Vegas is destroyed woohooo! 🤡
You didnt play any of the games did you? Cuz nukes are used in th3m all

So Vault-Tec did the exact same thing the Umbrella Corporation did in the Resident Evil movies.
Even in the games Vault Tech was shown to be completely effed up. Especially in all the terminals at the vault tech main buildings. One of the terminals mention them starting the nukes to fall
Vault Tec is just one of the many lackeys the Enclave owns.

Crazed ghouls are called "feral" in FO. I also think "The Ghoul" is quite OP here, regenerative powers, some invulnerability and some superhuman strength... to make it a good antagonist at the beginning.
Ghouls or super mutants? Titus could have injected FEV.
I'm annoyed no-one referred to him or the other ghouls as zombies which is considered a slur

The leader of the ncr is branding a laser gun. and you can see plasma guns on the wall of the old ladie's shop.

😂😂😂 was expecting Walton goggins Ghoul character to say he's partial to Roy Rogers yippee ky yay
I'm shocked they actually confirmed a fan theory with vault tech being the ones who kicked off armageddon
Unlikely. Cooper & daughter were at a party when it started. Barb would not have allowed that to happen. Vault Tec was planning to start armageddon but were beaten to the punch.
@@xczechrYes, I don’t think his wife would have condemned his daughter to a nuclear death. I do not believe vault tec dropped the bombs on California.
@@xczechr In fallout 3 in megaton the unexploded nuclear bomb as the vault tec logo.
But the problem is Yangtze she launched her missiles but I do recall a terminal at continual site saying they shot them down before more came and split into clusters
Fallout was amazing!! Probably one of the best adaptations i've seen.
Looking forward to New Vegas in season 2.
I love it! Sitting here playing fallout 4 while listening to videos about fallout. This wait is gonna be so hard until season 2 😭
Does anyone know when season 2 coming out? I need to watch!!
2025 at earliest. Going to take at least that long as filming is set for Toronto in September. With a show like this it will take about 6 months of post production work.
Fallout isn't anti-capitalistic. It's anti monopoly.
No, it's quite clearly anti-capitalist.
@@marrowkaiproductions7053 capitalism unchecked is monopoly which, robco, westek, repcon and vaultec are. a bunch of rich people who secretly run the world... oh wait we already have that: it's called the World Economic Forum. ;) and guess what they push... woke shit.
read the news.
dog it is definitely anti-capitalistic 😭
monkey brain take I ain't even gonna lie
Fuck Fuck Fuck + power armor
Reminds me of District 9.
Maximus was the worst character and the brotherhood as a whole felt weird until the last episode. Really hope seasons 2 finds its footing with the character and the brotherhood
I'm glad everything in your life is ruined by your desire to hate everything including yourself.
Watching the birth of an outcast chapter isnt going to look or feel entirely standard..
Yeah I was going to say his character had a lot of dumb moments, and his moral lesson was badly written
@@TheDigitalThreat that’s fair, I just feel they make him out to be dumb. Granted I get it he didn’t get an education but rewatch the popcorn eating scene and tell me he isn’t missing a few chromosomes 😂
yeah it was a pretty good show but i fuckin hated maximus
just finally finished watching season 1 and wow wow wow. Everything was top notch, couldnt be more happier that they came out with this game serious. makes it more special for all the Easter eggs inside the show
I can't wait to finally see the Enclave in action. I love that the dog is finally dubbed "Dog Meat" by the ghoul as I'd been calling hm that from the get go. I loved the sound of the vault door opening as so nostalgic. Hacking the computer made me smile, I loved seeing radroaches and Lucy has the most amazing eyes. So expressive.
