    One can still say no to things without resisting the present.

    Have you noticed that Rupert's description of healing is conspicuously the same as dissociation and psychological splitting?

    Rupert is unaware that feelings are signals coming from internal interpretations. The signals provide feedback and data, that a psychologically healthy mind uses for an inquiry into cause and effect.
    Rupert's exclusion of a conscious inquiry into the cause of his feelings indicates that his mind is trapped in emotional traumas and incomplete developmental tasks.

    I appreciate the idea of true healing that occurs spontaneously 'without dealing' with what is healed/cleaned out. I hope you don't mind if I extract the essence of this video from 6:20 to 7:20 and upload it under the heading Nondual Highlights - True Healing. Thankyou!

    We appear bi-located, in the absolute, and also involved with the material, with all it's seeming choice. With advanced multiple sclerosis, I have to think about every action made, in advance several times before performing it. This is the seeming practice happening in this nervous system. If not, it is like never doing the maintenance on your car.

    There is a long standing situation at home where two persons are not open to one another anymore and it's generating undercurrents and tension. One is aware and wants to leave, the other is aware but wants to stay. It feels like the one who wants to leave has had enough and don't want it anymore but the other is not responding and claims that nothing is wrong. Yet there is lots of tension. How do we resolve this?

    How do you not contract your body when you are experiencing severe grief after the sudden death of loved ones? What do you do when your body is just laid bare for fear, pain and suffering? Awareness seems not to be present at all.

    • @benwalton1039
      @benwalton1039 7 лет назад +4

      Awareness can not be present - if it was not, there would be no space for those feelings to arise (or absolutely any experience whatsoever). Awareness is the fact that you are aware first and foremost, you can't get away from that fact. The feeling it is not there is due to thought fixation and the emotion/sensation feedback loop in the body that it feeds causing a seeming distraction/contraction from that which is aware of it. I would stick with Rupert's teachings, he is beautifully articulate in his explanations and even though he utilities some techniques for exploring old habit patterns which can cause a hang up he is quick to point out that is not the point of said exercises as he explained at the beginning of this clip (even though it was not what the questioner was trying to convey due to miscommunication). My own teacher would not entertain even exercises ('it is just sensation if there is no fixed point of reference') however Rupert has a way about him that is clean and clear in his approach and seems to be very grounded considering his considerable elaborations. Sorry to hear about your loss.
