Married 16 years. For 10 or so of those years, my ex admits she was checked out. She actively made covert suggestions that I live somewhere else for YEARS. She made my home a place I dreaded to go, there were endless lists of things she expected from me, even though I worked an average of 60 hour weeks, not counting the 3 hour daily commute. I did that for 11 years until I got so sick I couldn't function. She then said she would be okay and look the other way if I had an affair, and when I did, she immediately changed the locks, kicked me out and filed. My personal experience is common. Only after our oldest was arrested and convicted of a felony did she reach out and beg me to take a more active role in his life, after nearly 8 years of fighting me for every inch of my rights as a father. Over 20 affidavits filed alleging that I was abusive, editing voicemails and submitting them as "evidence" none of which were ever questioned or investigated. Yeah, maybe this won't happen to you as a guy, but women have multiple avenues to cause severe harm to men, which men do not have, which are suggested and offered by the legal system all for free or at the man's expense. Again, perhaps this will not happen, but this degree of risk is only assumed by men, women do not have to face this.

The first time I heard what an incel was, I didn't think it was a bad thing. I date with the intention to marry and based off of knowing the woman I decide if this is a woman I see myself with long-term. Intercourse to me is more rewarding when I am emotionally connected with the woman. I have been once one of these "lonely" men. As a youngster i was far too tall, far too thin, zero muscle, far too nerdy to be called a nerd, not going to parties (not that iwould ever have been invited), working petty work to support my family when others partied. It hurt, really. After school i entered military service, got my act together, manned up, trained hard and in my free time learned as much as i can. Now at 47 years old i raised three successful businesses, have abs most 20somthings can only dream of and still look 15 years younger. When i go out, i actually dress down, in worn street wear clothes and still ladies less than half my age come on and try to date me. But it takes just two questions and a little bit of observational skills and knowledge of human nature if these ladies are really interested in me or if they are interested in improving their status. When I was younger I never cared about women. It was something I left for when I was older. Studies, hobbies, friends, family took all of my available time. After seeing the "quality" of women we have these days, I can say that I've never been so happy to be single. There's more women than men. Even if every single woman married a man there would still be women left without a man. They are usually fully aware of what they are doing because they think they can do what they like and when they get older and close to the wall, their perfect partner is going to magically appear. I have been once one of these "lonely" men. As a youngster i was far too tall, far too thin, zero muscle, far too nerdy to be called a nerd, not going to parties (not that iwould ever have been invited), working petty work to support my family when others partied. I think a lot of the hypergamy idea comes from hook up culture. Women tend to be more selective on who they're physical with whereas men tend to be more open to physical relationships with women they may not find very attractive or be interested in being in a relationship with. Many of these women then mistakenly believe that the men that sleep with them are also open to committing to them. The kind of men women can marry or the men that will commit to them. It's old-fashioned, but women who want to meet a "nice guy" can quickly filter out the men who are just interested in being physical by requiring a long dating period before getting physical. Men who are interested in being with her will commit. And they will most likely not be the 8s, 9s, and 10s that are often considered to be getting physical with most women.
