Came here to say this. USB extension cable for the cord to hang it, could have left it connected and powered from the wall.
Very cool; but imagine if the paracord was a charging cable, so that mag attachment also powered your phone while it dangled!

You should make a version 2.0 for this!
1: Add remote control for the winch.
2: Add a pivot hinge above the magnet so you can adjust the view angle! (you probably need to add a weight to the paracord piece so it acts as a counterweight if you want to pivit the phone)

I can't remember what video it was, but J.J. Macullough (I can't remember how to spell his name) did a video talking about pride and flags and he casually came out. He said something like "I'm gay and I don't see the need to big pride flags everywhere and be loud about it, but it's fine if you like it" (not his exact words, just an approximation).

It’s all good until you forget to click the stop button when it’s coming down
The design is very human.
A way to make it extra useless is to add a ping sensor, so it stops automatically when on the way down.

Edit: add the ability to maybe to also control it with a remote or something or maybe a paired app with the phone. And ive seen the idea of how the paracord should've been a charging cable and while i do agree, that would be actually difficult to acquire a long enough cable for such a thing and string it to an outlet without it ripping itself out of the wall.
That poor anker charger never saw it coming. lol
Love it! Maybe add a small microcontroller and make it store positions?
This is pretty cool invention. I think one thing that could be improved is the switch. Right now, the switch makes it hard to really fine tune the height of the phone. If you had buttons, you could do very rapid and precise adjustments.

Could you make a straw thing that forces you to drink slowly so you don't waste your soft drink or something? I don't know how you would do it, but it would be very cool!
Maybe a pressure regulator? Or a valve and flow meter set to a timer that only allows a certain amount of fluid to be drank at a time

Great for long videos but you could also do with a remote swiper-finger (or at least a sling) to avoid arm-ache on short videos.

Nice one! If using a mag safe charger, keeping the electrical cord in place and having it (and an extension cord) travel along with the Paracord and mount would allow you to charge while you watch!
YOU SHOULDVE KEPT THE WIRE ON THE MAGSAFE SO THAT YOU CAN CHARGE YOUR PHONE WHILE IT IS DANGLING OVER YOUR HEAD

People commenting about the cord being a charger probably don't realize that it would break in no time. Even on normal charging cables, they're constantly fraying internally. That's why you should bend them as little as possible.

THIS!!!! I am sporting a bruise on my cheek from dropping the corner of my phone into my face while I was falling asleep. This is a much needed product, you should go viral and you will make a ton of cash.
I was totally with you until the magnet because I cannot get my case off & on that’s why I don’t use the chargers like that. Couldn’t you just make something where a pop socket just slips into it? I mean then you could pitch it to pop socket and they could sell it and you could make a ton of money.

To stop the swaying you should have attached a cable to lock into the wall to stabilize it once your phone is attached. But aside from that great build.
You could add a little controller that rotates the orientation of the phone to always be square to the wall / face.

NEXT LEVEL: instead of cutting the charging cord off extend it and use it to dangle and charge the phone at the same time.
