Awesome looking bait!! I’m thinking in bass spin fishing, this bait would be killer on a drop shot rig. I’m going to try this on a mono fly rod rig on a drop shot deal. You have me really thinking!! Thanks!!
I tie a version with UV Polar Chenille. Great fly and big producer. I can throw it on lily pads and slowly pull it off the edge of the pads or I even put it it the shoreline grass and pull it out. Tied in white, it makes a great soft plastic jerk bait imitation.
Exactly. Rubber worms don't cast quite as well and the hook set is a bit more challenging. I've throw some soft plastics on my fly rod but it doesn't work quite as well.
You want a 7 or 8 not necessarily for the size of fish, but because of the size of flies you have to cast. Whether it's those sinking worm like flies or big popper whoppers, you need the stiffness in heavier rods to help turn over and cast those flies.
You can, but your casting won't be very accurate as the fly will steer the line, rather than the line steering the fly. #6 is better, #7 is best for accuracy.
This material casts much better than denser stuff like rabbit fur, rubber or mop material.Should be easy to build using any dark cactus chenille. Keep it very light in weight.
There might be a vid out there, not tried to tie this. There is some weaving and tapering of the materials. It appears that it is two different diameters of the yarn woven together to make the taper and create the action. Maybe order one and dissect it.
Excellent instructor and fun too. I miss the fishin' days with my 2 lads; savor every moment!
Hey Joe, would love to see you do a side-by-side comparison of some of the bass/streamer specific outfits on the website. Thanks!
Good pattern! Love Bass on The Fly! Thanks for sharing👍
Please show a video on tying this pattern

Great demo, glad you could get out with the boys. Will order a few of those.
Basically a fly fisherman's version of a Zoom trick worm. AWESOME!

How do you cast these monsters?
What’s your rod, reel and line setup? Great video. Love bass fishing with my Winston 8w.
Can this be fished on a 9’ 5wt? Looks amazing.

So it's a worm 'Gamechanger' and it doesn't cost $20? I'll be filling my bass fly box with these!
They were sold out 40 minutes after you posted this video.

Yes, you are right I think the Cactus is best because it sheds water.
Is there a fly tying video how to make it yourself? Shouldn’t be that hard?

This is the only video on a good way to fish 🎣 this worm 🪱 but i bought 2 of em’ anyway to find out for myself; thanks for sharing
