    This video was great! It was very educational, and gave an excellent demonstration to anyone trying to learn about coins values! Bravo!👏👏 Someone finally made a video that properly gives someone learning this hobby, accurate descriptions of what to look for and how the qualities are evaluated! Nice! Worth a subscription indeed! A+ & 5-⭐'s! Thank you🙏😇

    What if it looks better than xf but not as good as uncirculated? I am posting a video of the ones I have on RUclips it's titled "Mercury dime's". I picked them out of about around 100 of them.

    I have been watching these and will continue through them but was curious about the xf grade here and the reverse having some of the rim running into the the (DIME and AMERICA). Towards the end it was saying the reverse is a main factor of confirming a grade. I'm just a bit unsure how to process these two pieces of info.

    I look for MDs that have at least some detail in the wing on the cap.If there is none , it's too worn

    Can a Mercury dime be considered uncirculated without full bands? I heard that this is possible.

    • @mattinnj2561
      @mattinnj2561 4 года назад

      Yes. Weaker strikes are common. Uncirculated means just that. The coin has not been circulated. Some AU coins are nicer than MS-60's.

    Acid rain can affect uncirculated coins and also going through the airport electronics can also affect any coin that is uncirculated

    What is the difference between MS and FB on PCGS?

    • @mattinnj2561
      @mattinnj2561 4 года назад

      MS means mint state. Uncirculated. FB means full bands. A well struck coin. FB is a better coin.Generally.

      “Dime” is based on the Latin word “decimus,” meaning “one tenth.” The French used the word “disme” in the 1500s when they came up with the idea of money divided into ten parts. In America, the spelling changed from “disme” to “dime.”
