- Sea fishing for flounder in the Kent estuary around the Arnside area. This is a famous and very well known mark for flounder and has been known to provide the occasional big bass and sea trout! I've not fished here for years and I've definitely got a lot to learn about this sort of fishing. Very keen to include more variety into the channel mixing things up and really working on my niche of fishing some of the most scenic and diverse places in can!
If you enjoyed this video please don't forget to like and subscribe, it really helps me out!
You can get 10% off rigged and ready travel rods with code AFUK10 I'd recommend you check out the smuggler max, I was using it here. It's a multi purpose pike deadbait rod, sea rod and carp rod! All fits into a travel case.
Thanks for watching and I hope to see you again soon!
great place to fish ...white creek about a mile away ..better ...bait wise creeper rag very messy and hard to dig (at condor green glasson dock) is a killer bait for flatties
Thanks for the advice mate I appreciate it!
Is the camping spot by the lifeboat station still useable for camping?
I'm not completely sure mate!
Sandside? That's stretching it! Been swimming there and it's nowt but mud.
I wouldn't want to swim in there I don't think! Quicksand can be a real danger over that way too
...Good job...very nice...excelent ...I like this....❤super like....congratulations ...good luck my brother.....amazing...
.
Thanks mate glad you enjoyed the video!
Not been here for a long time, what months best. Time
Not sure to be honest! I've not fished there much
oi oi lad thats a famous bit of water but dont shoot the messenger'''' but you should have been more to your left way more to your left .... tight lines mate and have fun 👍
I think I know where you mean! I'll have to get down there and have a go, I hear it's even possible to lure fish for them there. Thanks for the comment!
A change is as good as a rest, love flounder fishing, me and my lad do it near where we live very similar conditions on an estuary and loads of flounders and plaice. Well done mate and congrats Georgia.
Thank you! Yeah it's really nice to be out doing something different and catching a few fish species I don't normally target. I remember when my dad used to take me out flatty fishing back in the day, I'm sure your son will have very fond memories of it growing up! Thanks for the comment 🎣
great vid mate as usual, if you're ever in my neck of the woods feel free to give us a shout for some river thames fishing
Thanks mate I appreciate that! Where abouts on the Thames are you?
@@adventurefishinguk in richmond, few perch and pike about
I live there lol
Do you ever do much fishing?
@@adventurefishinguk I don't but I definitely should. First i have to buy a pole. If you know there is the lake district around me, what pole would you recommend that does both?
Where is that
Cumbria
@@adventurefishinguk arnside? Can you dig worms there or pump them
@@adventurefishinguk what hooks and weight do you use there. Do you use grip lead
My mum used to say that freshly caught Arnside Flatties were better than Dover Sole any day....
Think I'll have to put that to the test with a catch and cook this winter!
Nice to see a change of scenery. I noticed that you used the Smuggler Max.
I've been trying to buy that for a while. Do you know if they're back in stock now?
Thanks mate, I believe they are! Don’t forget to use code AFUK10 for 10% off 👍
Haha that was like some trippy horror movie bag of fish and chips when you cut to the bait!
😂 that's put me off fish and chips for a while
Out of interest what kind of line where you using for this? Assuming it's a different strength to what you usually use ?
My normal sea reels were deep in boxes because I’m in the middle of moving house! They’ve got around 30-40lb mono on and that’s what I’d usually use here. For this video I used my pike dead baiting reels that had 60lb braid on 👍 better to be too heavy than too light!
Hi there, been trying about Arnside twice and had no luck. I have gathered that its probably because I have not used live baits. I was wondering if you dig the bait yourself or if you bought it from a shop? if so where was the shop as i'm keen to go another time. Thanks and great video, definitely made me want to go again. :)
I buy it from the shop mate, if you get lugworm or ragworm you'll probably catch a few! I go to Gerrys or Rigkraft in Morecambe
@@adventurefishinguk Thanks mate yeah live bait it will be for sure, thought it might be Gerrys. Cheers
Great video. So much easier when you can get the car close to the mark. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it mate thanks for the comment! Yeah makes life a lot easier not having to walk miles
Spent some hours there as a kid smashing flattys... that and under the viaduct
So did I! Plenty around, hoping to fish off Arnside pier soon, some fantastic views. Thanks for the comment!
@@adventurefishinguk aye, takes some beating the views... I do alot of wildfowling on the other side of the viaduct these days
We are at arnside now trying to find the spot you are fishing from any chance of directions :)
On the road near sand side mate just after the ship inn heading towards arnside 👍
@@adventurefishinguk Thanks, we found it and blanked we only started fishing at the end January I am guessing we missed the best of the flatties this year! Thanks for the reply!
@@craigboothman1173 no problem, I’m not sure what the season is really! Shame you blanked, can be tough when there’s a lot of freshwater coming down the river
For a bit of fun try further down at New Barns. Fish couple of hours either side of low water and trot a bait down under a small pike float letting the bait drag the bottom. Carp rod will do. Great fun and you would be surprised at the fight flounder can put up on light tackle. Then when the tide starts to turn, or you get bored, move up to Sandside for High. Brilliant chippy in Arnside as well! ....... and a pie shop!
I have heard a lot about new barns but never tried it. I'll have to give it a go, I usually just fish sand side and occasionally Arnside pier, somewhat put off much exploring further down because of the quicksand stories. I'm well acquainted with Arnside chippy, the best in the area for sure. Thanks for the comment and thanks for subscribing to the channel!
@@adventurefishinguk Fish off the rocks at New Barns. Channel runs next to them and the grassy banks. No need to walk onto the mud!
@@SteveT180351 sounds like a great spot I’ll be sure to give it a go, how far walk is it from the car park at arnside? I appreciate the advice!
@@adventurefishinguk 10/15 minutes from Prom past Coastguard Station or drive up Silverdale Rd by The Albion. Turn right down Red Hills Rd then right again down New Barns Rd. Drive down till you reach the bay and park on verge on left. Walk over grass to rocks on right, or fish off grass bank. Depends on water levels. You can see the bay on google maps ... marked Bob-in-cafe. Worth trying LRF as well. Flounder will chase lures! When the siren sounds watch out for the tide!
