Would have been cool if you used a z32 twin turbo instrument cluster. And an r33 center console for the opening in the DIN. Also use the 6 speed manual transmission with the front dif removed
It has yet to reach it's full potential due to being in long term storage (3 years) and other delays. However, when the initial build was complete, it dyno'd at 335rwhp @10psi. Next tune coming soon @~17-19psi
i'm kind of considering buying a 300ZX and swapping it with an RB26DETT though, did you use a custom mounting kit or McKinney's? also how hard was it to swap the VG with the RB?
Great Job. Nice car. I would have went with a gloss paint and maybe pick ip a set of nismo 350Z wheels or some aftermarket Volks. But hey, it's your car brother. Regardless, its a beauty...
elijahinky most definitely! At this point though, aesthetics weren’t top priority. However, this vid is pretty old and much has changed. Overview v.2.0 is nearly ready to be made
Gaston Jones all said and done, there is a slim space in the standard spot for a condenser, but i don’t think you could get fans on it and it would have to be narrower left to right for the hoses to rad and p/s. As for the front corner, it would have to be an extremely small condenser and custom lines. Anything is doable i suppose
@@letsseepaulallenopinion3217 I do not. However, I am looking into installing an aftermarket system by Vintage Air. Made for old classic cars. Super compact
@@letsseepaulallenopinion3217 I have not yet worked out all the details for the Z specifically, but the unit my friend has in his rat rod is electric and mounts under the driver side dash. The condenser is mounted under the car flush to the floor pans. Works really well
The engine I bought came with transmission, wiring harness, ECU, and PTU. No MAFs. As for lights and stuff, that is all original to the Z, part of the chassis harness, not connected to ECCM or engine
Luis Cisneros that’s all you really need. I didn’t use the ECU or wiring. As for the tranny, you only need the bell housing. If you haven’t yet enjoyed this whole series, each video specifically targets a part of this swap and provides all the details and info you need to put it all together
@@BCs300z How's the car keeping up so far? And have you gotten used to (bored) with it yet? I'm waiting til payday to buy a '91 rolling shell, so I'm doing all the research I can right now lol
@@corneliuswellington6670 Not bored, but excited to get back to the point where I don't have to drive it every day, and can take it out and enjoy on demand. But it is still fun everyday :) Just give her a little extra throttle in those on ramps and red lights. Looking forward to turning up the boost a lot once I no longer have to be too concerned with gas mileage.
Jay Fam much of it will be the same, such as mounting, trans, cooling, etc. There will be differences, obviously, if you use original intake manifold versus the Greddy/Freddy. But yeah, fundamentally, this guide could serve that swap
juvencio chavez it’s definitely possible. Just depends on how. OEM vs Custom. If you are looking to use an OEM-style front mount condenser, you will likely have to cut the core support and/or use hood pins. That wasn’t something I was willing to do. Custom is more like an AC for an antique car... wherever it fits
Got chills when you popped the hood
Wow man. Just wow. Great work. You spent some serious money. But spent wisely. All spent in very smart areas.
Cody Green thanks. Been planning this build for nearly 7 years
BCs300z Looking forward to more man. Keep it up.
Awesome build, bud. Love the outcome.
Perfect. Flawless Victory
Tastefully done. Great attention to detail. Time for some fly-by videos ;)
Rob Silva without a doubt. Hope to get that together this week
Sick build!

look at all the room in the engine bay now.
YES.... yes indeed!

Hey BC. mahalo. has st.Louis speed and sound shot down there business?
miltgsxr that is what I have heard
i really love these cars and myself drive a 91 rhd 300zx, always wondered how much did this run you exactly in the ballpark area?
Great question... one that several people ask and one that I am working to answer.

How hard would it be to keep the climate control also? Maybe to the opposite side of the oil radiator?

@BCs300z where could you possibly install it to? I was thinking a custom mount and standalone ecu, so i can put other car aircon system there

Did you notch the crewmember yourself or were you able to source one and if so where?
I performed all the notching myself. Then took it to a local shop to weld in the plates. Check out Ep 9 for the full details and process
Awesome thanks!!
Did you also have to buy a skyline r33 transmission nd an r33 wiring harness for the electrical parts like the lights and all tht?

So the z32 bolt right on the rb25 or 26

Thanks!
You don't scrape that front sway bar? Maybe it was the camera angle or lens, but it looks like it goes pretty low
It used to. I had to make custom lengthened end links to get the bar up a lot higher.

No modification to the firewall at all...not even a millimeter!
