My #1 Wash day trick - NEVER EVER skip a deep conditioning treatment. My hair is the healthiest and fullest it has been in years since I stopped applying heat… and started deep conditioning regularly.
Co-sign
@@shareeminor9125 Yes! It works wonders. 🥰
What's the difference? I add warm oils to my regular conditioners and let it sit as I detangle throughout the whole thing. It still feels good I guess
I tried the dryer and it didn’t work for me either. Always felt dry afterwards
No heat? Not a blow dryer or a Revair or do you mean no flat ironing?
Wash Day Trick: covering my hair with a plastic cap AND winter hat for insulation of hair treatments if you don't have a thermal cap and/or need to run errands. Body heat works too.
Great tip! I'm thinking of trying a snug fitting swim cap I don't use for swimming anymore :)
@@ileanasantamaria2364 Let us know if that works. I prefer the winter cap since it also catches any leakage if you unfold it by the nape, but a swim cap might prevent that.
My #1 wash day trick is to towel dry my hair in sections before adding product. I couldn't figure out why it was taking my hair so long to dry and this was it. It also allowed the product to absorb better because my hair was more damp than wet. Literally cut my dry time in half!
Yeah I now use a bonnet dryer before I add product. Helps leep😮my scalp from itching from the moisture
I do the same. I also shake the excess water off my hair similar to the way a dog shakes water off its body🤣. I use an old t-shirt or a t-shirt towel and gently squeeze the water out of my hair.
I do that before my wash n go😂
I 100% agree with you.. seeing “wash day” as a “self care” day really helps changing that negative mindset of the thought of “having” (chore) to do your hair. I love prepooing my hair b4 wash. I normally use aloe Vera or a mixture of aloe Vera with a conditioner (that Normally) has no slip. My favorite brush is tangle teezer (the purple one) love it to detangle & also style my hair.
Finger detangle (from a high porosity gal) when you have high porosity hair it’s no fast wash day…that’s if you want length retention, tangle free and hair filled with moisture…you best not mess any of those steps…lol at least for me I’m not lol
I just carve out 1/2 day…throw on some Jazz music and go for what my hair loves ❤
Sectioning and keeping it that way from detangling, shampoo, deep condotioner and stylers. Save your scalp, hair, time and stress!
Amen
Truth!!
I love detangling my hair under the water with my wide-tooth comb or a detangling brush and conditioner.
You have literally changed my whole perspective on my hair and how I deal with it and I’m seeing a huge improvement. So thank youuuu 🙏🏾
Fantastic tips as usual, Pre-pooing a day before has helped to shorten my wash day. Happy New Year and all the best for 2023.
Agreed with all the tricks! My number 1 trick is washing my hair more often once a week during winter twice a week during summer my time in the shower is definitely shorter since then
I think my no. 1 and the one I have to work on the most is getting in the right mindset. Happy hands and happy thoughts are key to hair care. It should be fun and freeing not a chore. Planning on getting some more hair content on my channel. Thanks for this video!
I stooped Detangling in the Shower, I stopped deep conditioning except when necessary, I stopped pre-pooing and it has been so rewarding
Prepooing with coconut oil and washing my hair in sections. My hair dries a lot faster since it's not taking in excess water, and it's easier for me to moisturize and comb through since it's already in sections.
My latest favorite is using a scalp massager shampoo brush you recommended before: my scalp is definitely better cleansed now. Thanks!
Detangling with the prepoo using the right tool for me (Kazmalaje brush) has been a game changer. And doing everything in sections
Yes! I spritz my hair with water and add shampoo. It loosens as I detangle and add just a touch of conditioner. Then I wash it all out and warm up some nice oils to put in my head with the conditioner. Then I play in the mirror and detangle until I feel like washing it out. 20 minutes max!!
I recently came across the Kazmalaje brush on Instagram and really want to try it! How do you like it?
Yes love this brush. Fastest detangling ever tool I ever used!
Thank you, have a blessed 2023!
I love African Pride PrePoo, it has so much slip and the curls are popping! You are so amazing and thanks for all you share, Happy to be Nappy, thanks to your education.
Your so right!! Love African Pride Pre-shampoo and out oil on each braided section, leave it in overnight. Shampoo the next morning.
Adding that African Pride pre poo and Cowashing! Total game changers for my hair and scalp
Indeed mindset is everything ! Looking forward wash days is so important 😉❤️
Deep Conditioning with hooded dryer 💪
Thank you for the tips, Have a Happy healthy and prosperous New Year 💟🙂🥰
Loved the video!!!! A good jammin playlist is always needed to speed it up for me and it's definitely the pre-wash day prep ALWAYS speeds it up!
Hey Friend. 💙 My number one trick is using my conditioner or deep conditioner as a leave-in to style my hair. I’d rather not wash it out. One less step during wash day 💁🏾♀️
Are you using a conditioner specifically designed to be a leave-in? Otherwise I saw where that can actually damage the hair and follicles from build-up
Love this video... all for shorter wash days! Happy New Year and looking forward for more in 2023 🎉🎊
I’ve changed the way I handle & care for my hair . I never use anything but my hands , I d’étranglé my hair with my hands, I massage my scalp with my hands . I wash my hair & deep condition my hair in braids . My hair is very healthy & I moisturize my hair 2 - 3 times a week in those same braids. Using my hands instead of tools has been a game changer for me . I pull those same braids in a ponytail all week long so my hair stays stretched and moisturized .
I love this video! I agree with all of the tips and tricks to make wash day not only easier but shorter. I like to pre poo using queen Helene cholesterol on my hair stands and sulfur 8 shampoo on my scalp (the yellow bottle) and I spritz my hair with distilled water before applying and I detangle each section after the cholesterol is added using an Afro pik. I leave this pre poo on overnight and wash it out by morning. My wash day trick is waking up at 6am to begin my wash day, i usually finish by 9am this has been a game changer because I still can do my daily activities afterwards and not have the day pass me by.
That fantasia product is the GOAT. My mom's been using it in my hair since forever. You've reminded me to go buy an extra bottle to replace the one I just finished.
Happy Friday ❤❤❤
Put my stylers and gels and leave ins in my hair in the shower have been so helpful and not time consuming
I make the best of the wash day. I just take my time and enjoy the whole experience! So when I’m done it’s R&R! 🍷🍾Happy New Year
Thank you for the reminder to stay consistent on my self-care routine because I've been made to think that I was "doing too much." I seeing after myself: in every area, it doesn't mean that I'm high maintenance or the reverse of it.
I dread taking down my plaited/braided hair😫
And I dread having to comb and then plait my hair after washing it
It's not the washing that puts me off. It's the 1 day of unplaiting my hair and then the 4 hours of having it plaited once I'm done washing.
I need to change my mentality
This is me you're talking about 😭
I have learned so much from watching this TY channel, it’s hard to pick a #1 wash day tip! 😂 So I’ll pick that comes to mind first:
I’ve learned how to wash my hair in sections. I use to feel so overwhelmed when washing my hair and it never felt 100% clean. Now I break it up into sections and use a bottle with a nozzle tip on it for shampoo to get through my thick hair and to my scalp better. It’s been a lot easier and my scalp feels more clean.
Happy New Year's Eve and happy New Year ahead of time! My number one tip is that if you have length, shampoo in sections.
I wash my hair every 10 days and I don't prepoo or wash in sections or deep condition with heat. Just regular conditioner letting it sit for 5 min and then detangling with it. Never understood why ppl call it wash day. It takes me 30 min to wash, condition and detangle my hair.
Thank you. You look amazing
Great tips! ... as always 😊
Wash Day trick is using my Qredew to detangle my hair. Cuts my detangle time so much
My trick is using Aunt Jackie's Knot on my watch detangling therapy with my prepoo ( coconut oil or olive oil), and a wide tooth comb. Works great on my 3c hair.
Thank you. For the info to make my wash day even shorter than usual. Comb my hair out wash & rinse do my conditioners & an oil rinse & I'm done with the water.
Detangle while shampooing. Take out those loose hairs. Detangling after conditioning used to take forever but starting with the shampoo has cut down so much time!
Luv this video 🥰💙..#1 “mindset” for me! 😂.. the best thing that I’ve done is pre-pooing and ensuring that my hair is detangled.. 💙
Oil rinses, oil rinses have saved my hair so much and easier to detangle when out the shower 🤎
Great channel beautiful young lady. This channel is very informative for our younger sisters. I am sending your channel to my young girls . Your a great example of positive role model. Peace and blessings
Thanks for these gems🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Patience. I have type 4 140% density (thick) high porosity hair. I have had to accept the challenges of my hair type are indifferent to the product used.
Thou shalt still be wet in the morning.
Thou willest embrace twists the day after wash day.
Thou will embrace length check with heat only on special occasions (MY birthday and New Years)
The protective style, with proper maintenance, will last 2-3 months if I act right (lol)
Happy New Year Queens and Kings
My #1 wash day hack is detangling and pre poo overnight. This method has saved me so much time during wash day.
Great and informative video. Please could you do a video about using the fantasis IC leave in. In addition you mentioned some brushes that was good for the hair. Could you mention the name brands. Thank you
I’ve been using a boar bristle brush and a wide tooth comb to detangle my hair and as long as I’m consistent, it works for me! My hair is a little too fine for most detangling brushes
Great video friend😁 thanks for sharing again!! For me? My hack would be my nozzle bottle honestly, my hair is thick so it’s hard to focus the shampoo on my scalp before it touches my strands and I feel like the nozzle just helps me with application😅
Notif gang!🤪
Heyyy! :-)
It's the sound effects for me😂 Thanks for those tips!
Happy Friday and have a Happy New Year 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! You too! :-)
👋 hi, Happy 2023. Thank you for these great tips to shorten my wash day.👍🥰
My number 1 is detangling when I shampoo and condition.
Siiiiis, after reading the heading, I never clicked so fast on a video link, lol. I'm here for SHORTER, because I have the 4c hair as we call it.
Thanks for all your content sis.
Aww you're so welcome!! :-)
@@CurlyChemistry love the video! I don’t see a list of the products and tools you mentioned. Will you provide that please?
Fantastic!! Question? Oil
Thank you for the content!!! But did I miss something, still can’t find the product links to the brushes? Would be super helpful to have!
Thx T. I would like for you to do an assessment of the ingredients in the miche products. I think their stuff is greeeattt. But would love to know what you think
Thanks, this was excellent. Do you use a leave in conditioner after the last IC Aloe rinse?
Great video as always!! I cannot seem to find the Wet brush. Could you please post a link? Thanks
Using the Steamer before rinsing out the conditioner makes the shower experience amazing
Hi Curly Chemistry, Happy New Year. With reference to the witch hazel would this okay for High porosity hair as well.
My good sis, I wanted to know your thoughts on the Tangle Teezer brush if you have tried it out. It works amazing on my daughter's thick tailbone length 4B/4C hair. Thank you for this very informative video! God Bless You!
Definitely using a conditioner as a prepoo and then using the shampoo. And then DC😉
Can you use witch hazel alone or does it have to be the fantasia IC??
Loved (AND "liked" ;)) this video, thank you!!!
Thanks for the tips. 9:27
Hey T. I boiled cloves with a chamomile tea bag to use for my hair. What do you think?
Hey, is the Originals by Africa's best hair mayonnaise deep conditioner a protein treatment?
Oil rinsing
Also, which is the best detangler for very fine, high porosity short hair
Can low porosity girls prepoo with coconut oil?
So you leave the Fantasia IC in your hair after shampooing and conditioning?
How can you incorporate ordinary witch hazel if you don't have the fantasia IC product
Hi, can you kindly type here the products you used by fantastia IC
👋🏽Tonya!!
Heyy!! :-)
Preepoo and deep condition.
Witch hazel I didn’t see that one coming.
Get up early 😊
(Eccl 3:1-8)
But weekends or Saturdays or for sleeping in! I don't want to end up more tired.
May request for a free personal home bible study on the ofc online site of J W's
I usually run out of hot water while shampooing, so I’ll have to use the heat cap for the deep conditioner 😢
Hey Curly Chemist, Is it okay to use different products on wash day than you used the last time. Or does this stop the growth of your hair. Can you alternate 2 or 3 different brands?
I love this question and would also like to know...I've heard stay in the same line and then I've heard do what works🤷🏽♀️
Can you take baking soda and water wash your hair then with apple cider vinegar and water and then rinse your hair out and then put clove water on your hair and then rinse it out
I'm not a hair expert but I wouldn't recommend. But it depends on your hair, the ratios you use to make all those products, and what outcome are you trying to get?
My wash day trick make ppl look at me like 😨😂 but I use a deep conditioner as my prepoo at times since my hair is prone to dryness, after shampooing I use a conditioner, shower, rinse then head about my day. Less time in the shower, more moisture retention for me. And yes, the conditioner as prepoo is the same just not as strong i guess
Ok I need help!!! When I pre-poo with coconut oil, do I wet my hair first and then apply? Or just apply to dry hair??
I can never remember this as well but I don't worry about it anymore because the way I see it is that when I put that plastic cap on, it's going to get wet anyway from the Heat. So I just apply it and then put the plastic cap on with a terry cloth tie over the plastic and then a winter knit hat over that since I don't have a hooded dryer or anything like that or heat cap. Trust me it'll warm up and get wet or damp.
You apply the coconut oil to dry hair. A good video of hers to watch on pre poo is “Revisiting the PMP method for natural hair! Even better moisturization!”
@@janicewright8139 Thank you so much!!
That last brush is terrible for my hair. I loose so much hair when I use it. And it doesn't detangle well 4 me.
Do you only do hair care lines for naturals?
No, I offer hair care line consultations for all hair types. ☺️
Can you please recommend an aloe Vera gel that is good for both hair and scalp? Fruit of the earth aloe Vera gel has recently stopped selling at Walmart and the price has been blown up on Amazon
She mentioned and showed a picture of Lilly of the desert aloe Vera juice Amazon and vitamin Shoppe.
@@sherryhatcher264 thank you!
Walmart also sells aloe juice in the laxative isle. It's juice not gel but is still very moisturizing. I use it for my spray bottles
@@poohbearrocks2008 Thank you!!
Oh nooo! 😱🤯😭
🚨🚨🚨Where are your closed captions for the hard of hearing/deaf folks!!!? 🚨🚨🚨
Adding sugar to my shampoo
Ooohh! Somehow I never thought of doing this and I add sugar to my face wash a couple times a week. Thanks for the idea!
What does adding sugar to your shampoo accomplish 🤔?
@@lenaedyse9634 moisturize and softens the same way if you add salt it takes the excess oil out she has a video out on that
How to remove too much protein/keratin (hair feels crispy)?
I use queen Helene cholesterol when I had protein overload and it reversed the damage
I believe you need a deep conditioner to add moisture back in
I'm gonna say it; finger detangling HURTS. Shower combs with the round end on each comb do the trick for me
My landlord is cheap. So my hot water only last 20 minutes. So that’s how long my wash day is. 5 mins shampoo. 10 minutes deep conditioner. 10 minutes detangle, by then the water is cool/cold. Dassit.
Washing once a week instead of once a month 🤣😱💜
I actually look forward to washing my hair. I dont think I take an hour in the bathroom
This was a 9min ad
Who shampoo’s their hair in the shower and then gets out … just to get back in?? Do people really do that🤔?
Well if you leave a deep conditioner on for an hour or so I don't think you'd want to stay in the shower that long unless you take a chair with you and turn the water off in between time. However, none of this affects me because I shampoo in the sink.
Yes they do. Couldn’t be me lol but folks do.
@@sable7114 So do I! That’s why I can’t understand all that extra in and out
@@TaylorWMusic22 Absolutely agree!!
It was a disaster for me. Buildup and breakage. 😬
Pre-poo overnight.
I love wash day! I always pre-poo, but I cannot, under no circumstance, use a detangling comb/brush.. finger detangle only for this gal😰🥲it is what it is, so I take the time necessary.
