Gotta say I like the sound with the "cowboy chords." Seems like more up and coming artists do as well lately..

You're not the first to say that! I guess it's a matter of personal taste, like everything else in music🙂

I'm looking at entry level resonators to learn and play slide guitar. The Gretsch is on my short list. Thanks an honest assessment.

I'm so impressed with the new Gretsch I just ordered one of these 👍

I've been looking and listening and I like the sound of the wood in this model. You audio is one of the better videos I have watched. I could get the Gretsch Honey Dripper but I am liking the woods!

A friend of mine has the Honey Dipper. He says the sound of that brass body takes some getting used to, and mostly works for bluegrass. I think the mahogany body is best for me

The only reason I’m thinking of taking mine back is BECAUSE the V neck hurts my thumb! Can I sand it down? There is a metal body 14 fretter from Recording King Guitars that I am waiting on called the Swamp Dog. The RUclips demos look and sound great. It’s just that they are so heavy! Lol You will do well with your resonator…I can tell! Thanks! 😊

I'm not crazy about the sharp V neck either! I don't if I have the skill to sand it down without destroying it, though.😬 I hope the Recording King works for you. I have one of their lap steel guitars and like it.

New subscriber. I’m going to be inheriting one of these from a wonderful friend who left us far too soon.

Nah man. Disagree. You can play them as you like, it has a distinctive tone difference to a regular acoustic. I find I write differently on them too

Great review you helped answer some of the questions that I had between this and another resonator guitar I'd like to do a piece in our set using this guitar and it should fit in really well down in south fork

Dude you are a good player, and a good reviewer. You may have sold me this, which will be my first resonator. I've had the bug for a couple of days. I'm thinking it's just kind of silly to fight it because I'm obviously going to end up with a resonator (I know that much about my self). Good review. Really addressed where I'm at, so maybe that's why I like it.

    What tuning did you use?

I was in open D for the slide stuff, standard tuning for the rest.
