I cook theses for my wife’s breakfast that she takes to work daily. I like your recipe much better than others I’ve tried
Thank you so much!
I made these this morning. Delicious! I used oil for the silicone egg molds and they all popped out. I put all ingredient in my blender. peppers onions and then Except shredded cheese added at the end. Also I stacked two molds high, no problem.
Wonderful!
This recipe is so awesome. I used to make the eggs in silicone cup cake liners in the oven. They would end up over done and rubbery. I made them this way, and what a difference!b I love your channel. Still learning about my ninja other than air frying!!
I'm so glad to hear that!
This looked so good that I ordered the egg mold and made these tonight in my new Ninja Foodi. They turned out great! Your instructions were thorough and so helpful. You just earned yourself another subscriber!
Awesome! Thank you!
I made this today for my husband as a quick Father's day breakfast. My son and husband lived it! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!!
It made me chuckle when you said you put PEPPERS in them and the taste was fabulous!!! Thinking of the story with your Grandfather!! :)
I just made this and they came out perfect and fluffy! Thank you for this recipe!😃 I had never used the “steam“ function on my ninja before.
Thank you again for another great recipe, yes I changed the ingredients a bit, added a little Mexican spin.
That sounds wonderful!
Made these this morning with bacon, ham, red pepper, American cheese, cream cheese and mushrooms. Delicious.
Sounds great!
I love making egg bites in my Foodi. I also like to air crisp them for a few minutes after flipping them out to give them a nice golden crust. YUMMY!
That sounds good!
My goodness....this is the best we all love it. Was no big deal to make a separate batch for my friend that hates onions and peppers. I actually added pepper and onion to my ninja blender for such a wonderful flavorful blend. I sent to my friend Jackie who also has a foodie and txted as I was creating. All I did was add an additional cup of water for each additional batch . Thanks again for an easy amazing delicious dish!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL AND ALL THE NINJA VIDEOS!
Thank you so much!
Perfection! I followed your recipe and advice and they came out amazing! I stacked 2 layers of molds on top of each other and used the silicone lids to cover. I forgot to use the rack between them but it didn't matter. They were eaten up before I could blink between my husband and son. I was lucky to have 2 out of the 18 egg bites I made. My eggs must have been larger because I had left over of 4 and put them in for a run after the first batch of two layers. These really are amazing!
Thank you so much for sharing and teaching me new tricks to continue love my cooker. Without you and your videos, this pot wouldn't be used as much.
From South Louisiana.... We appreciate you. Tight Hugs .
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you are enjoying the Ninja Foodi!
Agreed Debbie, Louise's videos, recipes, and website have Made my Ninja Foodi !!!!!
always looking on ways to use up my chicken eggs, great instructions and yummy, thank you
I absolutely love your recipes, but more than anything, I end up buying so many of the cool tools and gadgets that you use! Thanks for providing the links too!
Thank you so much!
I just made them.
5 eggs & a tad of milk & chopped ham & seasonings.
I put 3 cups of water in Foodi steamed for 12 mins.
They turned out perfectly!
The butter kept them from sticking just like u said.
They went like hotcakes.
Thanks! You have given me so many uses for my Ninja. I no longer use my microwave or my stove!
YAY!
Can’t wait to try these this morning!! Great hint on using steam. Love your videos.
Thank you!
Thank you for your video! So easy to follow! I followed your recipie but replaces the onion with the red pepper! They were just perfect! Thank you! It was the first time using the steam function on my foodie but you made it so easy to follow! Xx
Wonderful!
I just want to say thank you for everything you do. I love your videos. You have made my life so much easier. 🙏 thank you again. God Bless you for all the time you put into these videos
So good I love your food I maid these I put green pepper in mine keep on cooking
I'm so glad you enjoyed them!
How cool is that.. I have never heard of egg bites.. Thanks Louise.. This is awesome.. Going to try..
I hope you enjoy them!
Wow! funny I just did some egg bites using the steam function. Many people are afraid to use the steam function because they do not know how to use it. Good looking egg bites. I love your blender especially Ninja products.
Thanks, Roland! The steam function is wonderful!
I made these this morning. I really liked them. I did add an extra minute to the cooking time! They turned out perfect. Thanks! 😊
I'm so glad you enjoyed them!
I need to get the Egg tray. My son would love these . Thanks for all you do Louise Donna👍👍👍
Thank you!
If you have silicone baking cups you can use those too :)
Thank you so much for the steam hint greasing the cavities and the silicone . cover. My foodi deluxe 8 qt says boil for steam but the first 7 out taste sublime. More like a cream cheese bite than a fried egg of old.
Thanks for letting me know that. Which model do you have?
Thank you for another wonderful recipe. I can't wait to make these.
I hope you love them!
I am relatively knew to doing anything besides slowcooker in my Ninja Foodi. This reciepe looked so good and so easy I had to try it. All I cam say is OMG soooo good! I will be making thse often for a low carb breakfast/snack. Thank you for your videos and your website. It just proves you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! LOL
Very informative to help me make my egg bites!
Glad it was helpful!
You are so fabulous at makng life more fun!!!!💖👍 Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Christmas morning recipe!!!! Thanks!
I cannot believe, after 2 years, I am just now trying this recipe today (as we 'speak'). Cannot wait to see how they turn out. :)
Mmm, I just did these without the cheese (hubby doesn't like), and used bacon bits and seasonings, and I tried 10 minutes and they were perfect! Thanks, Louise.
Sounds great!
Good day. I enjoyed your video. You mentioned that you were not crazy about hard boiled eggs in the PC. You described your method of cooking them and I have a tip that will impress you I think. Take your eggs and bring them to room temp. Then place them in the PC and cook for just 5 minutes. Do a quick release and place the eggs in an ice bath. Best eggs ever! Keep up the good work!
It’s not hard boiled eggs that I don’t like, it’s pressure cooked egg bites. They are too rubbery in my opinion
OH! MY! GOODNESS!!!! I've only pressure cooked egg bites in the past and thought they were pretty good/ok... BUT THESE ARE A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! STEAM FUNCTION ROCKS!!!! I substituted the swiss cheese with. colby jack.. HEAVEN!!!! Thank you again for the inspiration!! p.s. Louise, off subject, have you experimented with Sous Vide technique?
I'm so glad you like them! I have done a few things sous vide and I love the concept, but hate the time involved even though it's hands off. I just don't think that far ahead! LOL
The egg bites look delicious! Thanks for the video.❤️❤️
Thank you!
I have the molds but was afraid to use them for exactly the reason you said. I also find steaming chicken (mostly cutlets) make for a better, moist chicken. Pressure cooking them make them dry IMO (Unless they are swimming in a sauce) Thanks for this, I'll try them this weekend or maybe for dinner some night
I hope you love them!
These came out absolutely perfect.
great!
I just made some and they are perfect, this will definitely help me start meal prepping. Thank you 😊
Wonderful!
I love my basting brush for Pampered chef. I just made your chicken and dumplings recipe and yummy
I'm so glad you enjoyed the chicken and dumplings!
I do my hard boiled eggs in this mould too. just crack the egg in, cover and steam. no trying to peel them after.
Happy Days, a wonderful Keto breakfast idea, just swap out the onion for an echallon shallot and I'm doing the happy dance. Thank you for sharing your recipes :-)
I hope you enjoy them!
Hi, love your videos. I have one of those egg molds, that I haven't used yet, but I'm going to now!!!! Thanks for the video. Also hope you're going to do more Ninja foodie hot and cold blender recipes. I'm going to make your recipe for the chicken tortilla soup, it looks delicious and you make it look so easy to make!!!!
I will be doing more blender videos!
So the thought that comes to mind is the pressure cooker is great for what it’s good for, but it isn’t the best choice for everything. Same with the air fryer. Same with sous vide. How are you supposed to know which is best? Listening to Louise always works great for me.
I totally agree that not all foods do well under pressure. Eggs are a perfect example. The high temps denatures the protein and turns it to rubber in my opinion. Of course, everyone likes things cooked differently, so some people love PC eggs. They just aren't for me.
I’m definitely going to try these. Yum. Tfs
I hope you enjoy them!
Yummy cream cheese n there.
Yes all Ninja Blenders Bkades are Scary SHARP
Must also try this recipe
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you for your videos!!
If you use two silicone egg molds and stack them do you need to increase the time? These look fabulous. I love eggs.
I didn't think so, but a few people have said that they have had to increase the time by a few minutes. I would start with 12 minutes and check on them and then decide.
Can these egg bites be frozen? I have already tried 1 time and they were excellent!!
Thanks so much for this video.
You look like Lisa Hartman 😊..... and Meg Ryan ... I enjoy your videos... need videos to help me with my ninja foodi
Thanks so much! I'm glad my videos can help you!
Thank you for mentioning some of the pop ups are not red. I got one and it was silver
and I thought it fell off or something. lol
Awesome, thank you.
I've never heard of egg bites before looks good and tasty wish I payed attention to the ingredients needed.
All my recipes are written out on my website and can be printed: thesaltedpepper.com/egg-bites/
Great video!
Thanks!
I agree with you I've never had an egg bite I liked... yet. I'm looking forward to making these. What time do you suggest steaming if you use 2 molds?
Same time.
I tried to make these this morning and followed your recipe to the tea and put my ninja foodie 701 on steam for 12 minutes at the end of those 12 minutes they weren’t even beginning to be done so I put them back for one more minute I didn’t do anything and put them back in there for five minutes that didn’t do anything so I ended up pressure cooking them. I don’t know what I did wrong but I might try to get in someday.
That is very strange, are you sure you weren’t on steam/crisp or steam/bake? Even if you were, they still should have cooked. I haven’t tested this recipe in the OL series, but there shouldn’t be that much of a difference. If you want to troubleshoot with me, send me an email: louise@thesaltedpepper.com
Hi Louise! Two questions. You mentioned cooking two egg bite molds at a time. Can I stack them on top of each other, each covered of course, or should I put top one on rack above the other? Do I need to cook longer, or just give a try and see? Thank you!
OBTW, glad I watched this video before I attempt to make the egg bites, because I would have pressure cooked them instead of steaming.
I hope you enjoy them!
Would these egg bites be freezable and how would I reheat . Thank you!!!
Do you think that you can make the egg bites mixture a day ahead of time? Using the whipping cream and the cream cheese?
I think that would be fine.
Just a helpful tip to make it faster when you're in a hurry - I boil my water first in an electric kettle while Im prepping my ingredients. It really cuts down on the build up time, and I do that for most things I cook in my Ninja. Try it !
The only issue with that is the time it takes to boil the water is cook time, so some recipes might be underdone if you start with boiling water. Some recipes it won't make a big difference, but with others is will. I always start with room temp in my recipes and calculate time based on that.
So...I've been making these wrong. I mistakenly been setting the foodi to seal instead of release. I'm going to try your method to see if it makes a difference.
Make sure you select the steam function and have the valve open, it's the lower heat from steam that makes them so good!
My instant pot yogert goes in mine .i like cottage cheese but to me it doesn't do a thing in my eggbites. But the yogert with a little milk' and ure meat choice and cheese yumm.sand p.inmursion blender works perfect too.
Yogurt sounds good too!
I thought I'd give you this hint. I put all my ingredients for egg bites in my small Ninja food processor pulse them and add them to the egg bowls first. Pour the liquid over them they turn out perfect. Just saying God bless
That is a great idea! Now, why didn't I think of that before! LOL Thanks!
Can you explain? Pour what liquid, the water into pot?
@@qlgc2024 I think she means the liquid eggs and cream
Is your husband playing the music on this video? It sounds great, so I hope it is. Oh yeah, looking forward to trying the recipe too!
No, not on this one. He hasn't recorded his music yet.
I have the one lid foodie. For steam cooked egg bits the temp is 390 is that too high or do I just leave at that temp?
Lou I have the egg thingymajiggerypokeries but can I use aluminium foil to cover them?
Yes, of course.
Hi, im in the UK and after a bit of advice please. I love your recipes and have done these egg bites often but everytime, my ninja just boils and the pin stays up. Can i use a normal lid to steam or does it need to be the pressure lid with it on vent?
Hi.. have you ever tried baking egg bites instead of steaming?
I have and they stick to the molds no matter what I do.
I followed you exactly as you went through the steps. I have a brand new ninja foodi. 6.5 at. Made the egg mixture as you did. Same water, covered egg bites, turned it on, pressed steam, time , start. Did nothing, valve was set to vent also. Waited 20 minutes, still nothing. Started over from beginning, 5 times. Nothing. Any help at all?
6.5 qt
I'm using an 8 qt instapot. Is 2 cupe if water enough to cook or should I add more water to steam?
From what I understand, steaming is slightly different on the IP's. I think you close the valve instead of leave it open (except a new model), but you can still use the 2 cups of water. I would decrease the time a little because with the pot sealed, you are building more heat and pressure.
Hi I love ur channel, I have a question if I do 2 trays off egg bites how long do you think i should cook them for.
Thank you very much. You would cook the same time.
I was searching the comments and glad I finally found this question... I just did the 12 minutes with 2 trays and they came out only half formed. I have done another 4 minutes and now another 7 minutes (currently waiting) and they are still runny. I added 2 cups water the first time and another 1.5 cups because it was almost gone 😥
May be a dumb question but here it goes. If I just need to make 3 do I just add water to the empty wells or is that necessary?
That's not dumb at all. I think you will be fine to leave them empty, but I haven't tried it. Keep in mind that you can freeze them if you make a whole batch and won't eat them right away. They also can be refrigerated and reheated.
@@TheSaltedPepper oh ok. I didn't know that. I know usually eggs don't taste that great reheated, but I'm willing to test it out on my family 😂.
Thank you
Thanks glad to know you can freeze them as 7 would be to many for me ,❤
Well my dad does breakfast now since I kept messing up the eggs lol. I'll tell him to make these. Would egg beaters work in place of eggs?
Yes
Yes, I don't see why not.
I forgot to mention if you push the bottom up, it is silicone and will release what you are cooking. I made some more egg bites today
Thanks!
I used the lid to pressure cook. Came out fine. Who knew.
Glad you enjoyed them!
Can you put foil on top or do you need the silicone lid?
You can use foil
@@TheSaltedPepper Thank you. I ordered the silicone lids… They’re supposed to come today 😃
Can you use foil if you don't have the silicone covers?
Yes!
What is the brand of lid and brush you used?
I am cooking for one, can these be frozen so I can cook a big batch?
I don't see why not.
Thank you for your prompt reply. Your videos are informative and so helpful.
Hmmm. First single batch in lidded egg mold perfect. Second double batch perfect. Third double batch with addition of 1 tsp of grated cheese had an issue. One layer was perfectly done and popped right out of mold., other layer was not set in middle and stuck in mold. Unfortunately I don’t know which layer was under cooked since I did not know till I opened the lids. Should I take them out half way and reverse their positions? I offset the molds when I stacked them. I know they will finish cooking when I reheat them in the microwave, but would like both layers to be evenly done.
I don't have 2 egg bite trays so I'm not sure what to tell you as far as cooking multiple stacks. That would be a pain to reverse their positions though, maybe just add a few more minutes and see if that helps.
I use Ricotta cheese in place of the cream cheese. Comes out creamy.
That sounds good!
I’m planning on making it this weekend. Can I not use cream/milk/water? Just eggs with veggies and cheese. Other recipes on the RUclips for egg bites also uses heavy cream. Thanks
You can omit it, but it will affect the texture a bit.
Can I use a glass pot lid instead of the silicone cover or foil for the egg bites?
Yes, that should be fine under the steam function.
Tried to go to the egg bite recipe on your website, blank screen.
I'm not sure why that happened, it is working for me. thesaltedpepper.com/egg-bites/
Is the pan you are using on Amazon or where can I order it for my ninja foodi 6.5??
Yes. That’s where I bought mine a couple days ago
What is the difference between heavy whipping cream and heavy cream. I see there is a difference in price.
I think just the amount of butter fat. You can use either in this recipe.
Thank You 😎
What is the music called prior to the recipe ?
Do you have to cover them when cooking
Some people say you don't, but I always do.
I fill mine to the top and it still works out fine
Good to know!
how much cream cheese
You can find all the exact ingredients in the written recipes on my website. Here is the egg bite recipe and I hope this helps! thesaltedpepper.com/egg-bites/
You are scary!!!! I haven't watched the video yet but need to tell you to get out of my brain! I got one of those for Christmas and wanted to use it. Thanks!!!
I hope you enjoy them!
could you do these using the bake function?
I guess you could, but I've baked eggs before in silicone and didn't like them.
Tried these today but didn’t turn out anything like yours, they were slightly over cooked I would say, the egg had turned a blackish colour. Tasted nice though.
Did you use a Ninja Foodi on the steam function or another appliance brand?
Where can I get the small spatula I see you use so much?
I'm not sure which one you are referring to. Is it this one: www.pamperedchef.com/pws/thesaltedpepper/shop/%2410_00+%26+Under/Mini+Nylon+Serving+Spatula/2438 or this one: www.pamperedchef.com/pws/thesaltedpepper/shop/%2410_00+%26+Under/Scoop+%26+Spread/1708
The Salted Pepper thanks ordered on for myself and my sister
I wonder how much cream cheese she added?
Here is the recipe: thesaltedpepper.com/egg-bites/
Mine behave like a soufle. They rise super high then sink. How come yours don't? any idea?
Are you steaming them? Make sure the valve is left open.
The Salted Pepper I thought so, but I will make sure, thank you
It is still doing it. Is it possible that I am am overwhipping them and adding too much air? Would it even work like that?
Tracie Leland It could be, but I used a high speed blender and haven’t had that problem. How long are they cooking before it starts the steam countdown?
The Salted Pepper about 8-9 min I think.
Do not have a pressure cooker. So if I were to do this, I would follow the recipe and just make scrambled eggs on the stove top.
