I’m a Finn and safe to say that I was shocked too. Been to Estonia multiple times and it is very similar to Finland. They’re almost next to each other, the capitals are opposite of each other, both have been under certain countries’ rule (sweden, denmark (kalmar) and russia) and both have very high standards of living. Then again though, Estonia is a baltic country meaning they interact very often with their baltic neighbours and Finland just so happens to have a long history of Swedish rule, a second language being Swedish and the location provides a lot of interaction with Sweden.
Because one of the factors was demographics I believe it is what swayed Estonia towards Latvia due to the Russian minority. We dont have that "yet" in Finland.
