Bonjour, Nous sommes une famille de 5 aussi avec 3 ptits gars et on voudrait revenir dans un bateau (on habitait dans un voilier avant d'aller vivre à la campagne). Je regarde en ce moment pour des bateaux, j'ai toujours été un grand fan des ovni. Pour vous qui vivez en polynésie, et apres les caraibes, trouvez vous que c'est un bon compromis confort secu vitesse? ma femme voudrait un cata bien sur:) on avait un mono 10 m avant. merci pour la vid en tout cas
great boat and very nice tour over the boat only the thing what can be stronger it is the arch from stainless steel pipe in the helm where all navigation electronics located the arch itself it is strong enough but attachment point of arch to fiberglass hull of helm not strong enough for sure since in the helm is not so many things where you can hold in rough sea and this arch staying just in the center of cockpit then every one on the boat just holds for it and one day it will broken we broke it when were sailing around Sumatra back in 2019 fair winds
Hi Marcus, like most cruising families they have taken a sabbatical but now return to work and school. Unfortunately most people can only afford to be away for a few years and the norm is 2-3 years.
Thank you Detan808. Ovni are expensive boats. The cheapest sold in 24 months was Euro 160,000 and was in dire need of some TLC. Aluminium is a superior but costly building material. Alubat only uses the very best, including proper lead for the keel as opposed to cheap cast iron like as prefers for production boats built to a price point... and which are often prone to issues such as rust.
Unfortunately circumnavigation is not easy at the moment... for example there is nowhere to stop between Tahiti and Fiji, then the next stop welcoming cruisers is Indonesia... too many amazing places missed on the way.
