Its so nice to see Alubat taking the lead with this innovative design for the flagship vessel of the new range. In a few years, Ovni has gone from old fashioned to cutting edge, and from too mainstream to clearly positioned. The 490 is a statement.
The level of finish of the interior is perfect, I like the brand's no-nonsense style, while Allure and Garcia have become over the top.
Rob, I think it would be great if you could give a rationale for the boxy look of the new Alubats. There has to be a benefit for the end user - is it stronger, does it allow better materials, a better quality control, cost savings used for something else...? The look is not for everyone and it would be nice if the Alubat owners had a story to tell. The ultimate reference is Tesla's Cybertruck (be it in a multi billion $ product category). There is a reason for the odd shape. You might have said it already in the promotional material, but it has not registered with me.

Great idea, can you customize the Pilot house to have a wheel, throttle controls and push buttons for the winches? Also are all the lines run to the cockpit so that you can short hand this yacht and basically never go forward?
With the exception of a steering wheel, yes, you can customize the pilot house. You are correct, all the lines run to the cockpit for short-handed sailors.
You won't have the wheel, but you can have a repeater for the autopilot - so controling remotely the wheel
does it keep the philosophy of a unique piece deck hull welded together and all the things (furniture, etc) brought through the companion way door? if yes, by the start it is far better than anyone who do not.
Yes! The 100% aluminum construction of the 490 is the same as the full range of Alubat vessels. The aluminum deck is welded to the hull and, with the exception of the engine, the furniture and components are brought in through the companion way.

As longer distance single-hander, it saddens me that nowadays manufactures, especially for blue water cruisers, move to a side galley concept as well, completely ignoring the comfortability of having both arms free while making the chores of the very important part of our life.
