Dippin' Dave - Yeah man. I go berserk every time I watch vintage pack breaks and they go from the pack right into a Semi Ridged Holder. I understand that those are the absolute best way to send em over to grading but it takes zero time, effort or cash to put each one in a penny sleeve. It can only help protect the card.
Scratch King - I’ve heard people say that too and it stands to reason that it will if you just shove the cards into things, whether they are Sleeves, Toploaders or Semi Ridged Holders. That’s why I always roll my sleeves back a bit before I place my cards into them. I’ve never had an issue cause of that.
Nob the Knave - I’m with you on that too. 100%. I’ve never understood it completely myself and I use Toploaders mainly. Some people say that Toploaders and Sleeves can catch Corners or you can damage the cards getting them out, but I think the same can be said for the Semi Ridged cases as well. As long as you’re careful and not shoving cards into cases, I think Toploaders are the best overall. PSA will only accept the SR cases though, so if we want to submit to them ourselves, we gotta use them at some point unfortunately.
You don’t use penny sleeves in card saver cases. They’re also likely the best loose case for maintaining quality condition. Don’t get all pretentious about how to properly handle cards when you don’t even know yourself. These are the sleeves all high end collectors use for vintage, and what PSA expects you to send your cards in.

Wow, the guy opening that 60 yr pack of Bowman cards (with the Angel jersey) showed no caution or carefulness opening the case. He could've potentially damaged and reduce those cards to 20% of its highest values. He could've easily slipped with that screw driver and gashed up a Willie Mays or Mickey Mantle. Man it would've been some sight to see him drive that screw driver right into a valuable card. and imagine all their faces.
The fact that these “breakers” opened the container with a screwdriver, didn’t use gloves to handle the cards and not use penny sleeves tells me that these cards have been resealed. Cmon guys, put in a little more effort if you plan on scamming people.
Gaston Boykins it’s a graded pack so it has way more value sealed since you can imagine how rare they are. The graded seal keeps it in this state it was graded in.
A kid in high school traded me a hank Aaron 55 bowman for my game boy when I was a kid my mom beat my a$$ but it's worth a lot more than a game boy now
As far as money , In any year there may be 1 good career player per team worth having and 1 to 3 per league really worth having....thus your odds when you add in all players are about 1 to 4 percent or 1 to 4 out of a hundred...if you buy packs with those odds for the cards not the pack ITSELF and you then consider grading requirements too your nuts at today's prices.
Joel Weidenfeld you know nothing lol. There are many players from that series worth having. Your right it's rare to find them and paying the amount people do, thinking they will find gem mantle. But if you think only 1 player that year has any value I'd hate to see what you would throw away.
Need to read about the 56 Bowmans. Yep 56 Bowmans. Topps bought them out in 55 but Bowman had already planned the 56 set. They sent out cards glued to cardboard to like 300 kids to see which was most popular. There still a few around. ESPN Keith Olbermann I think owns 1. Interesting story. Almost as interesting as Topps dumping millions of 51-55 in the ocean to make room in warehouses.
Can't stand how he's touching the edges like that are you freaking serious crushing those edges, if there was a Mantle you just dropped it a couple grade points
@@FSU2001 I would wear some thing called gloves, and going through the pack I would lightly just slide every card off the deck and into a holder. Been collecting since the 80s. You do not squeeze and hold the edges like that, especially an old card. They are terribly delicate
Yes. The first one with significant production was the RCA model CT-100 in 1954. Cost a thousand dollars. A second model with a larger picture tube came out in very late 1954 that cut the cost down to $495. You could watch three shows a week on NBC in color, IF you lived in one of the 35 cities equipped to broadcast in color.

Glad to see that the Baseball Card scammers from the early 90's are still around in 2019.
i stopped in 91 sold everything for a car i was getting bored with it bottom fell out
waiting for him to run that screwdriver right into the pack

Opening that PSA case was absolutely brutal.
One slip with that screwdriver and they go oops.
Me: “You have a Mickey Mantle card??”
You: “ Yeah but it has a screwdriver mark on it.”
Me: “ WTF Happened!!! 😂
.... Would rather see the screwdriver go through his eyes, would have made the video a little interesting !!!
“Can’t beat the gloss” then immediately places card in horse shit slider without a penny sleeve.

That was cool to see,, Preacher Roe was my grandfather's cousin!!! Grew up hearing a lot of stories about his baseball career...
Those cards look like they were gonna go from mint to poor with that slab opening.
Was i only one having heart problems watching him break open that case??
Let this be a lesson to all younger collectors...the people selling these packs, are scammers.
The whole pack was nothing but commons, see?

All kinds of cards have this issue. Even Pokemon cards.
When a card gets graded it cant be a perfect 10 unless the centering is perfect aswell, thats why its always mentioned.

Should be wearing gloves when touching those cards and very rough opening the pack very unprofessional in handling
Yes. So many unprofessional things about this break.
A Carbone would never do such a thing.
No kidding. Why does he keep playing with the gum and handling the cards. This guy has no clue.
Nerve-racking watching that slab get cracked. Fun break
I’d never buy a break from these people.

I remember opening my first PSA case.
Bowman still had the big stars in 55'.The next year,Topps got them back.
They should make them destroy or stamp the wax pack after its opened so scammers don't reuse them
I just bought poor to fair 55 Bowman commons for $1 each. No major rips or creases and still technically the same cards.
Do they scam people into buying these cards? These packs are opened and resealed so you have no chance at a good card.
This look really organized...lol
people can open and reseal packs so well nowadays how can psa even determine if its been tampered with?
2019 and he still can't open it
Watching that barbarian open that PSA case was horrific.
So many “unopened” packs have been searched and resealed, frankly I wouldn’t even trust PSA certification.
