People need to realize that any Single Vintage Pack, regardless if it is Authenticated, is most likely a dud pack. Not fake, but a Dud. I will use myself as an example why. About 20 years ago, I opened a 1986 Fleer Basketball Box. I knew on average, there would be 2-4 Jordan's, most likely 3. And I did get 3 Jordans with about 14-15 packs left to go. While the chance of a 4th Jordan exists in the remaining packs, the chance of there NOT being a 4th Jordan is much more overwhelmingly higher. And plus, I have never heard of anyone pulling 4 Jordans from a box before. Thus, I got the remaining 14-15 packs authenticated and sold them off, and because they were authenticated, I got premium prices for them and actually made nearly the price I paid for the entire box! I felt as sure as I possibly could feel that those 15 packs had no Jordans in them. At the time, no other card mattered, so after that 3rd Jordan was pulled, I viewed the those remaining packs were worthless. Anyway, what I am insinuating is that most high dollar packs like this one, are "left over" packs from a box. Hence, if you ever buy a single pack like this, you DO NOT open it, as it's most likely a leftover pack from a box where the high value cards have been pulled already. And this also goes into the "scam" of a piece together box, ie., people can piece together a full 36 pack box with leftover packs. Hence, if you are ever going to buy a high dollar Sealed box, it does not matter if it is Authenticated. What matters is of the Box is Authentcated with the inscription that it is FASC "From a Sealed Case", ie, not pieced together box.
I like this info, thanks. Very wisely notated. Being a total nerd-novice I wonder about these things. I saw this video online awhile back where someone did a break on a box of 1972 or 1974 Topps Baseball that they paid several thousands for and the box was sealed and authenticated by BBCA. After the first three or four packs the cards were all saturated with residue from the gum. I guess it seeped through the cards and they stopped the break. Open up 3 Boxes of a product, hope to pull the hot hits early on, and use the leftover packs from 3 boxes to make up a full box, and BBCE it. But is it bad when all the major companies is doing it? Is it any different than Blowout or Dave Adam's or Steel City, get the case hits and then sell just the remaining boxes? The very reason the video has 500,000 views is people enjoy this type of unusual historical content.

@@turtleneckferret how u figure.?. When i saw them . Tops cards with broken up gum in them and all. Now go back in your trash can...
why would he not put the cards in a sleeve before he put them in that plastic holder? Seems like he could bend the edges by putting into that tight holder with no sleeve.
@Kaneda383 ok, but why? doesn't make sense. The sleeve protects the card.
I remember nobody used to sleeve cards before toploading. Found my childhood cards, and almost all of them were like that and made me cringe
Bro, why did he open that pack like that😂😂 and SCI complimented his steady hand??

@@chi-tn that wax wrapper is worth few hundred......$400-1000. can't believe leyton ripped it the way he did. either that or the pack has been resealed with glue cuz they it shouldn't have ripped like that.
Amazing I love that set! you better put your order In now for the next bowman pack, because their may not be anymore left by next years nationals!! If I had the money and access, I buy as many of those packs graded,as l could find. Their only going to go up in price

Could’ve bought 400000 of those packs back in 1952 for 20 grand. Today you get one. 😆😆
And you still wouldn’t pull a Mantle or Mays
Vintage breaks just swapped packs on a fella. Check out sports card radio.
Just sold my 52 bowman Mays in psa 5.5
Hi good day. You know I have some mickey mantle cards. very old and with signatures I have no experience in this what can I do
That was nice of the Vintage Breaks guy to not switch out the pack before he opened it
?
@@aaronkosharskyswhiteknight5224 to take out good cards and just replace them with common cards and reseal the pack
@@DingChavez-m1x I know dipshit. Wheres the proof that he did it?
600$ worth of cards lol. I don't trust them old packs. It's too easy to seal back the pack. I had a 74 Topps pack I opened to test PSA and it came back clean authentic. Lol wasn't crap in it but still opened it and looked through the pack sealed it back up and it came back 7. Never would trust these old packs

highly highly recommend you listen to Bluejacket66 and John Mangini when comes to vintage. futhermore think john would be willing to help you gain knowledge of vintage.
You should do your top 10 or so sports card video
Is there a reason they dont penny sleeve these before sliding into the semi rigid? I bought a couple Mantles last week and they came the same way.
Yeh they should be doing that, their rich clowns that don’t know what they are doing
I thought the exact same things. 1952 pack-fresh cards and he's putting them into a cheap, flimsy card holder with no sleeve. Wtf?
Geoff, if you or vintage breaks would have hit the Mantle or Mays, I would have dropped my Samsung phone in amazement.....And I just bought the phone three days ago! Lol!! Great video.
Well. To my mind, this video isn't - as most commenters assume - a video about turning $20,000 into $200 into 500,000 RUclips views. It is simply about people with the means sharing a rare event in the hobby, independent of focusing on the sunk costs. The cards are all in order, on the checklist. This knowledge may or may not be pre-baked. But this video is about sharing the rich history of our hobby. The very reason the video has 500,000 views is people enjoy this type of unusual historical content.
Pocket change for filthy rich dudes. It's just that gambling rush that's addicting
That was so exciting!!!
Sacrilegious to open up a pack that old.
I’m not Darlene Farmer.
I’m her husband. I’m 76.
I have this set. It was released in 7 36 card series.
These look like they are from the fourth series.
What is bizarre is that the six cards supposedly pulled from the unopened pack are six cards in numerical order,
Cards 165 through 170.
Since this pack is from that series there was zero chance a Mantle (101) or a Mays (218) could have possibly been pulled.
Would like to hear any thoughts on this. Thanks.
Terry Farmer
P.S. These 5 1952 Bowman’s are from the fifth series, not the fourth. My mistake.

Damm! From a $20k value to about $200 bucks. That sucks!
I was 7 years old when these and others were 5 cents per/pack. We chewed the gum and played with the cards . If only i knew then what i know today.
Oh man. Lol haven't you seen the Vintage Breaks scandal with swapping vintage packs? You could have gotten fooled here.
Wow!!! Love it.
Worth 5 cents then and 5 dollars now
Oh, if I only had a time machine? Headed for 1909 for The Flying Dutchman, 1952 for Mantle, then, of course, straight to 1986 Fleer hoops for you know who…hey, I can dream, can’t I?
But not the 1951 Mantle?

Oh snap. Here we gooooo
A neighbor of mine was cleaning out her attic above the general store in town and found 2 sealed boxes of 1952. Can’t wait to tell her about them…
Very much like Geraldo Rivera opening the vault and finding...
Best part is he probebly used governenment PPP loan money.

I really wish you'd have preserved that wrapper better
Very cool no matter what you pull.

Didn’t vintage breaks just scam an 81 Topps pack?
They are now known scammers. Camera don't lie.

@@harjimbaugh4234 yup i saw it dont think anything happened. Looked good to me.
Wow! It's very rare to see cards that are 70+ years old! About 90% of baseball card channels will showcase junk wax and heritage cards and pass them off as "vintage!"
What's the best pack of basketball card to purchase to get good money back on tell us please. Thanks Matthew 😊

How do I know how much certain cards are? Like there’s different rarity cards and idrk which are worth more
