    as a tip for light diffusion: line the inside of the tube with aluminum tape (muffler tape) which is shiny and will reflect all the light inside flooding the tube more evenly.

    I love how throughout the video you spoke with confidence and talking about the front piece and the vents on the side " the side vent things" went right through that sentence without a hitch, that was great

  • @skoue4165
    @skoue4165 5 лет назад

    Thought I would add here that there are folks who are successfully vacuforming EVA foam. One guy says he has formed up to 10mm foam. Probably wouldn't have been a lot of use on this helmet but sholder caps and such might be a time saver.

    The body undersuit. Is that something you made or bought? What is it made out of? It almost looks rubber or neoprene. Very cool!

    • @punishedprops
      @punishedprops  7 лет назад +1

      We made it by drawing references on a lycra bodysuit, cutting it apart at the seams, taking a picture of the pieces, drawing a new bodysuit in photoshop, getting the design printed on new lycra fabric from Spoonflower, then sewing a new bodysuit. It sure was a learning experience! There will be a video about the process in the next few weeks.

    A friend who was an optometrist told me they commonly die sunglasses with Rit dye.

    • @punishedprops
      @punishedprops  7 лет назад +2

      Rit makes their own dye for synthetics that works well on PETG. It's similar to iDye Poly. Regular Rit dye, meant for natural fiber cloth, doesn't work very well on PETG.

    • @punishedprops

      We didn't make any specific templates for this build. If you attempt it yourself, you'll find you need to make custom pieces for your particular costume and size. Templates wouldn't be much help.

      Punished Props Academy I actually wanted it to be a decoration or something like that. It doesn’t need to be wearable when it comes to my needs. But it’s very nice that you replied. I adore your Destiny cosplays. Would love to see Better Devils foam replica ;)...

    Anyone by any chance got a good supplier that does 1” eva foam balls? I can’t use styrofoam balls cause the glue I have dissolves them

    • @punishedprops
      @punishedprops  6 лет назад

      Hmmm... I've never heard of EVA foam being available in a sphere. The closest thing I can think of would be TNT Cosplay Supply's foam dowels, which could easily be shaped into a sphere: tntcosplaysupply.com/product/eva-foam-dowels/
      But if that won't work, there is glue available designed to work with styrofoam: amzn.to/2L46uKp

      PLA. In retrospect the mistake is obvious. I ended up casting a resin buck which worked well.

    How would I make rounded vents like the ones on the barrel of the Infinity from borderlands 2?
    borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Infinity

    • @punishedprops
      @punishedprops  7 лет назад

      Punch a hole (the size of the vent curve) on each end of the vent and cut a straight line between the two tops, and two bottoms, of the circles. I learned that from Bill's Jade Rabbit build in his Foamsmith 2 book :)
