  • Britt has started her costume build for DragonCon! The character is her favorite from the video game Destiny. This first video takes the EVA foam robot feet all the way from templates, to cutting and gluing, and even adding the shoe attachments.

    Workout regimen for Broombot cosplay:
Do not use entire lower body for six uninterrupted weeks. Do not worry about the severe muscular atrophy, as you will be using the broom to support your weight for the duration of the convention.

Not sure if Sweepy is coming to BlizzCon, but it would be appropriate since the Blizzard launcher will have the PC version of Destiny 2 :)

Woo! Going to DragonCon for the first time this year! Hopefully get to run into you both.
Thanks for the advice about building one part of the costume until completion. I've been working on a Zenyatta costume for a while now and I've completely scraped it twice because I've cut all the parts at once and messed up the sizing. Going to give it another try, but probably won't be ready in time for September.

Another great video, Brittany! What are you going to use to seal, paint and protect? I'm making some boot covers out of foam but they are going to end up being one continuous piece so I'm afraid the paint will wrinkle or crack. I'm thinking of using Angelus leather paint but what do I use to seal the foam and then seal the paint?

I would like your opinion on this.
