In Asia, it is very important to clean your vegetables and fruits. I've seen Jamie Oliver pulled out a carrot from his farm and he took a bite off it, sill has soil on it which is ehhh 😣
There is something very therapeutic about your videos, Maangchi. I've only tried making a couple of your dishes but I continue to watch every new video you put up. It must be magic!
I've watched so many videos of Maangchi and what I love in her cooking is the way she cooks so neatly not to mention the way she washes each ingredient and her hands! 👍🏽👌🏽😊
Am I the only one who suddenly want to learn cooking Korean cuisine and the Korean language itself. She has a great vibe, funny makes impossible tasks seem easy (without the professional chefs' witchcraft that is not understandable to the layman!) and most importantly she THOROUGHLY WASHES both her food and hands! Awesooooommmeee!!!
Hello Maangachi! I've been watching your videos lately and i love the way you prepare food, because you take it with a lot of passion and it makes me feel happy! The best part of your videos is the end, where you eat the mouth-watering plates you make and enjoy! Keep the good work :) and you should try more mexican food, i love Enchiladas! (Im from Mexico)
You remind me so much of my mother. Except she's Mexican, but she's like a replica of you! Very cute and always makes funny comments when she cooks. I'll always remember when she's cooking eggs and she'll say "before you flip, make sure the eggs are dancing!" It's so funny. I think that's why i enjoy your videos so much. Keep being you!
My wife and I just discovered your videos and we're in love! :D We've been watching for 3 days straight, your videos are fantastic! They are therapeutic and beautiful, thank you for sharing Maangchi !! :D Love from MEXICO - Sam & Sandy
Thank you soooo much Maangchi. I couldn't find any decent looking squid at the fishmarket so I used fresh cuttlefish and parboiled it (because it's tougher than squid) before following your recipe, using the grill in my oven (300°C). We had it with plain white rice, crunchy batavia lettuce and a glass of French red wine (Gaillac), followed by a bowl of freshly picked strawberries with a dash of cream. A perfect meal for our first dinner in the garden this year.
Your cooking is really delicious dear mangchi. i'm a nurse working here in IRAQ. i'm originally from Philippines, and the food here is very different from any asian cooking. Your videos inspire us to cook delicious food here. We are always tired at work , and sometimes forgot to eat. But watching your videos really made us hungry, and our body is forcing us to eat. Hahahahhahahahha.. Keep posting more of your videos and more power!! : )
Hello Maangchi! Today i tried ur recipe with some substitutes available in my country (Mauritius)! The squid tastes amazing! Thank u for sharing ur delicious recipes!
Wow! I love watching your videos! If you were to ever open your own restaurant, I'd be there with bells and whistles! Thank you for sharing your recipes.
maangchi, first of all; everything you cook looks delicious! i can't wait to try and make absolutely every recipe. but secondly, what makes you so different from all the other youtube cooks is that you're so funny and charming and cute; with your comments, both the ones you say in the video but also the ones that pop up in writing, like "stretch, stretch my friend" are so quirky and fun! i really, really enjoy watching these videos, please never stop making them!
Maangchi, your sauce for this dish is sooooo delicious. I don't eat squid regularly so I didn't have any on hand, but I grilled some jumbo prawns and had remembered seeing this video, so I decided to make your sauce to spread over them. Wow! they were so good! Thank you for the recipe!
hello Ms Maanchi, It's been 4 years I have been learning some of your recipes, it's always great!!! I even posted some in FB, once they asked me, well I replied them to just visit Maangchi in RUclips, ha ha ha even my Korean boss get interested too.. And among of all Korean recipes I mostly learned from you. Your recipes always stands out. And the way you cooked and your looks,, looking at you at first will already people encourage to learn your recipe. Thank you so much for sharing your awesome recipes...

My first time eating 오징어통구이 was a month ago when my sister bought it from hmart in new york. I was so surprised because it was so delicious. Now we have the recipe for it. Thank you so much for sharing your love and passion for cooking...but most importantly thank you for sharing your recipe. 감사합니다 ~~~♡♡
Squid is pretty expensive in Egypt. I always look at it and then at the price tag and walk away, sad. But I think I'll go buy one and try this, it looks DELICIOUS
Am always happy to receive another of your videos Maangchi. You are such a joy to watch. Best wishes to you and your loved ones for the holidays. Thank you for sharing the joy Big hug from the Netherlands :)
Hi Maangchi!!,The grilled squid looks so delicious, I just love the way you cook and I'm really big fan of k-pop and korean food, your recipes make my mouth watery
youre so terrific , ilove,d way u prepare , so much clean .... love ur food , drinking beer makes laugh .... anyway thanks for all delicious recipe ... see yah !!!!!
This looks like one of the best recipes I have ever seen. My mom doesn't like spicy, but I LOVE spicy, so I will make this sauce. Do you have another recipe for a sauce to baste the squid with?
this is a late comment but i suggest using mild gochujang, thai chili paste (the unsweeted type), mild indonesian sambal or half of the required table spoons of the gochujang, the flavour wont be quite the same but your heat intolerant mother will be able to enjoy it too!
I do enjoy watching your cooking program. It is one of the very best on RUclips. You present the program beautifully, great recipes, very well explained and above all, very hygienic. I see some so called chefs taking the chicken or meat out of the supermarket package and straight away starting seasoning them! Unacceptable. However, I am glad I can continue watching your great cooking program with your ever so friendly face. Wish you the best.
Wow! I usually dont like the taste of squid but it just made me want it! Delicious!! By the way, i bought gochujang a month ago, never opened it but i keep it in room temperature, can you tell me if it is okay? And can i make some kimchi with it? :)
SYNackyshadz yes, it's ok to use the hot pepper paste (gochujang). I use hot pepper flakes (gochu-garu) when I make kimchi. www.maangchi.com/ingredient/hot-pepper-flakes
Hi, when I buy mine it is not kept in the fridge so I only put it in it when I open the lid. I think you could use your gochujang without any risk. Good cooking, this recipe made me hungry for squid too... Now that I think about it I have one just ready (by the seller) in the freezer \o/
I love squid! The way I usually prepare it when I'm cooking it Asian style is by seasoning with salt, pepper, lemon juice and a little bit of that Sriracha-brand garlic/chili seed sauce. Once that is done I fry it up in olive oil; it's important to get it to the point where it becomes firm or it will be too slimey. After that I put in some butter and Teryaki sauce and then fry it for a bit longer until the sauce thickens a bit. Once that's done it's ready to eat. Sometimes I put a bit of sesame seeds and green onion as garnish but it's delicious either way.
I was craving squid and just when I opened my RUclips subscriptions box, this grilled squid recipe video was the first video. This looks absolutely delicious. I loved your stuffed pumpkin recipe too! Could you do more pumpkin recipes?

Whitebrowpriest oh, haha! I think chicken will work well with the sauce. Slice chicken breast thinly and score it nicely and cook with the sauce. Good luck!
Thank you so much Maangchi for the help! You have one of the best cooking shows on the internet! Always look forward to your next video/lesson. God bless you. :)

I could never decide between squid and octopus until now. This looks so good!
The deconstruction of the squid scared me a little 😖😖😑😶😶
+Lauren Winter : )
I just made this... it is very spicy. O_O I would reduce the hot pepper paste by a tablespoon or something... so spicy..... water

Looks like it tastes amazing Maangchi ! Too bad I couldn't eat that without going to the emergency room, lol. :( [darn allergies]
Whitebrowpriest ; ) You can replace spicy hot pepper paste with soy sauce. Use just 1 tablespoon soy sauce.
Oh no, it's not the spices, Maangchi. It's the seafood! Can't eat squid, it would kill me.

What would be a good replacement for the squid?
