I'm experimenting with some longer cuts on this video and more native audio - let me know if you like it!
Super helpful. I’ve been planning a similar project and learned several ideas from your video. Thanks for posting.
Jessem makes some fantastic rollers to ride atop material when making rips. Not only do the rollers hold material, they suck it up against the fence. They also help prevent kickback. You can Google to get a better idea how they work.
Glad it helped, and appreciate the tip! Once I build out a woodshop here I'm going to figure out a good featherboard setup
Price of these is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! I am debating whether to buy or make but if I make I plan use feather boards on side and top so i get perfect 45 angles
Definitely make them. Less cost and more flexibility if there’s a dirty or dented spot in one board. Featherboards is a good idea, it’s tough to keep the long pieces perfecty straight in the tablesaw. If you have 3 people to help guide that would also do the trick
Super effort you two. Great job again! 👍👍👍👍
Thank you! We are happy with how they turned out 🙂
Everything looks fantastic! You're doing a great job! Love your attention to detail....from a fellow perfectionist.
Haha glad you understand 😆
On the horizontal butt joints, apply a bead of caulk before installing. Then it squeezes out to close the gap during install.
Good tip! Luckily we only had that one at the end
Good work Mason, love the PVC. Smooth and easy to work with. They look great! 💪
Hey thanks guys! We have learned some great tricks from your videos. Hope to see y’all at the Vegas builders show this year.
These corners will be full of rainwater from the siding gaps. You can caulk all day, it will separate. You should have used J channel on the end of the siding.
There’s nothing to hold water.. gaps will remain open similar to all window and door trim and siding is on top of rain screen
Cut pieces of small diameter backer rod and put caulk on them, then slide into gap. Wipe off excess.
@@kevinhornbuckle It's going to be a mess
REMIND me WHY with your garage, you are lying on the FLOOR whilst brad nailing a coner mitre together!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For CRYING OUT LOUD, would you not take 1/2 an hour out to create a temporary workstation - and do it STANDING UP! 😂😂😂😂
YOU GUYS! So funny!!
Take care of your bodies! One day you will be older and regret, not taking more time to work SMARTER, not harder!!!
You are a very smart, clever couple! Even if you need to delay the start of something ---- work smarter, not harder!
Love the channel, and at 58, I'm definitely doing it again!!!!!!
Haha thank you! For the 18ft long boards it was just more trouble than it was worth for the few minutes it took to glue and nail them. We do have our 12ft pallet table out front 😉
Lol my body is worth about 40$ at this point lol.
Why is there so many bugs 😭
I like the way the corners look tho 😅
We had a break in the cold weather where it was warm for a few days and the invasive asian lady beetles were looking for a place to overwinter.. not fun, they were everywhere!
@@CWilsonV Thank you! Appreciate it!
Will you be building a bathroom soon?
Yep that and kitchen cabinets will be the first big interior projects after drywall! Videos on all the wiring and ductwork are on the list to edit, wanted to get through all the exterior stuff
@@MasonDixonAcres I am helping a friend build three new bathrooms, each with curbless showers. Pebble floor with radiant heat. They are turning out to be very nice. I could send you photos if you need tips on shower tiling.
Awesome! Our shower wont be curbless but will have radiant heat and a fully tiled shower and floor. Email the pics! Address is on the channel about
I am going to be that guy. At the 2:19 mark you cross your left hand in front of the blade to hold the right side and made the cut. This is a definite no-no, especially on a sliding miter saw. Stunts like this is why radial arm saws got a bad rap. Please think before you do stuff like this. It only takes one pinch, bind or catch and then an ER triage visit or worse.
Appreciate the comment! Agreed it's definitely not recommended, I did that to keep the right side of the board flat to the table. Safer to use a clamp for sure. The next cut was better 😜
