- Several requests received from the RetroSkins Community for this 2005 Monday Night gem - so let’s do it!
The ’05 Redskins started off looking like the ’04 Redskins - a sky-high defense shackled to a rock-bottom offense. Following an anemic opening day effort (though still a win for Washington), the Skins offense struggled onwards and downwards, setback by turnovers and untimely penalties as the Cowboys pitched 54 minutes of smothering shutout football. But that Redskins defense was tough as ever, allowing only 13 points to keep the game within reach, setting the stage for an unforgettable lightning-strikes-twice Redskins rally that left Al Michaels, John Madden and the capacity crowd at Texas Stadium flabbergasted. These images of Joe Gibbs jumping for joy after a much-deserved post-game Gatorade soaking should bring a tear to the eye of even the most jaded DC football fan.
Remastered from DVD to digital while getting a more than little bit veklempt (talk amongst yourselves…)

I've said many times that while his first stint was more successful, Gibbs' second stint featured some of his best coaching.

YES! I remember watching this game at the local dive bar with my best friends who were in town to visit. the place was packed with skins/boys fans. We were getting ragged the whole game….until minutes to go! Then, the place ERUPTED when Moss hit that first one, then the second one, the floor almost gave out from so many people jumping around screaming! And THEN…there was the hit by Sean TAYLOR on Crayton…he absolutely murdered him! It was AWESOME. I’ll never forget this game.

I've been waiting for this one. I'll never forget it. I was home, and my Cowboys fan friend called and we talked on the phone through most of the game, while each of us watched from our respective homes. He wasn't obnoxious, but he knew his "Boys" were playing a great game. And then...
Well, let's just say things changed considerably in the mood of the conversation in those last few moments. I, too, refrained from being obnoxious.

MONDAY NIGHT MIRACLE!
The fact the Redskins hadn't scored a TD yet. The fact that Parcels was 77-0 with a 13+ point lead in the 4th quarter. The fact that the Cowboys inducted Aikman, Irvin and Emmitt into the Cowboys HOF....made this the one of, if not the greatest, victory over Dallas ever!!
I remember watching this game at a sports bar with my friends. One of the most satisfying wins over Dallas ever.
Oh man it was good to see this again. I watched the game and when they pulled it out, that was one of the happiest moments of my young life! I had a few Cowboy fans at my office...they where nowhere to be found! Hail to Coach Gibbs, Santana, Mark, and the Burgundy and gold!
This game was so fun. My boss was an obnoxious Cowboy fan and went to bed early and didn’t believe me when I showed up in a Redskins shirt the next day. Spent an hour cussing up a storm when he looked it up online.

I think Cooley had 3 touchdowns in that game. 35-7 and Washington basically ran the clock out in the second half.

God i love this W me and my dad were playing cards the whole night just hoping they could score any points so it wouldn't be a shutout. Then mr moss aka cowboy killer went off and they pulled off a improbable comeback. I miss these uniforms and i miss the name, logo, fight song, etc. always and forever HTTR!

I was upset &I give them credit & Roy Williams was burned twice by Moss&I actually had his jersey (#31) back then but hewas ro me a underrated player almost like Terrence Newman (#41) but both were good solid players🤨🏟️🏈💪🤜🤛🧢🙏

I will never forget this game but for painful reasons. I turned the TV off after Dallas went up 13-0. I was so mad. Then the next morning I was eating breakfast turned on the TV and could NOT believe what I missed!!
