This Friday I‘m getting my C40😊. Normally I would take a Mercedes EQC, but I waited a long time for them fixing their bugs and they didn‘t. I rented the EQC three times for re-testing, but nothing changed. Not even a bit! After driving so many German cars, now I decided the first time for the Swedish Quality. Thank you for your excellent videos!
Early spring for you and a late one for us 230 km north of Québec city, I watched this video and dreamed . We’ve still a pile of snow on our lawn 7 ft-2 metres deep and -14 c today.
Would love to se a 1000km challenge from Oslo to Stockholm. Going around the lake Mälaren, south side heading in and north side heading out. Or vice versa.
At the moment I drive a Model 3, but I also miss my former V60. The car was great, service was great, dealership was really great. I hope Volvo has some good EV option in 2 years. Than I will definitely switch back to Volvo. The built quality of my Tesla is not great at all. Also 11% degradation (confirmed by Tesla). But Tesla does nothing until 30% is reached. It’s ridiculous American shitty service.
Bjorn, thanks for raising the Tritium issue. In Australia over 50% of these 50 -350 kw are broken and often for MONTHS. Awaiting parts. It's an absolute scam, clearly these are unreliable chargers. What's even funny is they are made in Australia.
I feel like Volvo is really trying to move away from trying to become Audi for the longest time and are now instead looking to Tesla. Volvo has always tried to do the right thing, but they just never had enough sales to really take of. I hope the electrification will be the turningpoint for Volvo. I feel like it's the only european car brand that tries to do things right although with limited resources in comparison to the other european brands.
For me Volvo and Toyota has the same problem, their stunning outside does not match the interior. Interior is seriously lacking innovation, you still get the same dated rugged looks of the controls and where items are palced. That said, I am not the majority, since I prefer more touch panels, less knobs (new Hyundai Tucson did it perfectly for me).
@@not_the_pasta Volvo is changing generations with the start of the xc90 EV replacement due out end of year. Their next-gen interiors will be much different than the current ones.

Hi Bjorn, I love your 1000 km challenges. Since a couple of months i’ve got an Mini Electric SE. You have done some reviews before but I was wondering if you would like to do an 1000 KM challenge with the Mini. I know the range isn’t that good but just interested to see how it will perform (especially with a bit better weather) like May/June period.
Any test of c40/xc40 Single motor standard range? The official wltp range figures are almost the same as dual motor long range, but I doubt it irl. Would be interesting to see a test from you.
If you have the opportunity, I see the North American tow rating is 900kg. Could you tow a trailer and see what it does to the range please? It would add a bit of variety... Like the videos
Glad you did not try to arrive with 5%, you would have seen Mr Turtle too many times! I wonder how slow you would be driving at 5% state of charge, maybe 50KM/hr?
Can you please make a tutorial how to get the fastest from a to b with a vehicle? Not the exact numbers for a specific vehicle, but the knowledge you use to achieve the best time that can be used on any electric car.
Another comprehensive long range test. 👍 Obviously you have more experience but would it not be better to top up to 100% to start your Swedish 1000km challenges from Bryn Senter or Esso Ryen. On your return you'll be doing your 999 countdown very close to your suburb in Oslo without having to do a top up elsewhere. I figure it will get you home a few minutes earlier on top of a few minutes shorter 1000km run. It will certainly help with the smaller battery cars which will find it easier to get to Ionity Spekörod
What is more impressive is the ID series who is roughly the same time yet a lot less expensive. Will you redo the challenge when 3.0 will arrive in the ID software?
Bjorn, which other EV provides the closest ownership experience to a Tesla? Range, charging speed, user interface. For those that don't want to spend as much for a Tesla but still want an EV.
