It's weird. This game is said to be the most difficult of the NES trilogy. It's true that it's a very brutal game. But its difficulty is not unfair : the enemies do not keep respawning, the hit detection is good, the items are powerful and the controls are top notch. It has very few design flaws. Once you know how to beat it, the next runs become easier and easier. In NG1 and NG2 however the hit detection is a bit off, enemies keep spawning endlessly, and to pass some passages you almost have to rely on luck. I do not say that NG1 & 2 are bad or more difficult; I just say that it's not the same type of difficulty. So yeah, once you master it you can beat NGIII fairy easely imo
i consider myself a damn good gamer and the only ninja gaiden game i havent beat is the 1st that came out on nes and it drives me crazy that i haven't beaten it after what almost 25 years after its been released
What happened between Ryu and Irene? They went from kissing at the end of NG1, to hugging in NG2, to awkwardly standing 2 feet apart here. Where did the passion go? *D:*

I beat all 3 and its no cake walk. This series is very very difficult sad part is that I'm good. You die in the end you gotta play from the beginning from the last level. I wouldnt be surprised if only 10,000 people was able to beat this game. WITHOUT CHEATING

kenneth and sdfdogjedi100 , i've played ninja gaiden saga and honestly , this wasn't so hard ... i mean it kept me like 1 day to get to the end and finish it , and believe me that i played like a geek all day long ... i mean 24 hours bcuz i played japanesse version and there weren't and passwords to continue. I think the hardest games of the saga were I and II cuz you didn't had so many helping stuff like in this ... i mean the sword and other . So pls stop arguing on vids like this for nothing
CostaJ21 American nes version is harder due to limited continues and double damage. I have the cartridge, and I can't stay up for 24 hours, I'm not on drugs lol

After you beat a Ninja Gaiden game you're normally too relieved you won to care what's going on for the ending.
ninja gaiden actually goes in this order apparently according to a comment in Ninja Gaiden II ending. Ninja Gaiden I, III, II.

They put Nijna Gaiden 1-3 on a SNES game called Ninja Gaiden Trilogy. They didn't change anything, they just put all 3 games on one cartridge.
This was the last 8bit game I beat before I moved on to the 16-bit revolution.
