Had same issue with my new 2024 X354 tractor. The manual is copyright 2017 with the old yellow deck. John Deere should be embarrassed. Thanks for posting !!!
Great Video, straight to the point. The information was exactly what i needed to see. I have a older x590 that I just picked up and this will help. Thanks again!!
Like yourself, I just took delivery of my brand new 2024 X590 with the 54" deck, you are spot on with regard to the owner's manual not being totally correct for this 24 model. Your video is excellent for learning the correct way to level the deck. Also, I checked, and again as you found, the tire pressure was incorrect. Really enjoyed your presentation.
Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to comment. I have actually found a couple more items and will be posting another video in a week or less. Nothing crazy but I thought they were worth noting.
Just replaced PTO Clutch. Wasn't bad repair at all. X590 is a-lot quieter. Drive belt was in good shape. Thanks for all your great video’s, very helpful.
@@TheAirboss1955 I appreciate the update. I’m really hoping that’s the issue with mine. When the weather outside starts getting crappy, I’ll dig into it.
I have a JD LA165 and when leveling the deck it said to drop the front slightly (1-2 counterclockwise turns) so the blades don’t cut the grass twice as it causes the grass to turn brown and uses extra horsepower. This must not be an issue with the X590?
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I have an LA 115 that is similar to your 165. You’re correct, on those tractors you do want to slightly lower the front of the deck once the standard leveling process is completed. That avoids double cutting which is bad for the grass and uses more horsepower. On the X500 series that use a leveling gage, that slight tip is built into the measuring point on the front of the deck. If done properly, the blades will be slightly lower when measured in the front. Now, with all that being said, I’ve never verified that. I might actually do that to see what I find. It’s a good point.
@@HobbyUniverseOutdoors That is correct; I bought a "leftover" new 2022 model in mid-2023; the changes for 2023 were the seat suspension upgrade to X700 style, green painted deck, and removal of the X500-specific vented hood center panel in favor of the solid X300 style hood.

Yep, the manuals are not up to date on the new ones. Would be great if they could take the time to do that. Thanks for watching. 👍
Great concise video. Thank you very much!
Thank thank you for taking the time to comment and provide feedback. I’m glad you found it useful. 🙂

My 2020 has the stuff under the seat.
I think the change happened in 2023 when they changed the seat suspension to a 4-point style. Just my guess…

Thanks for the follow-up. I like the improved seat suspension but didn’t realize it was from the X 700 series models. That makes sense.
