- Good Evening Friends! I just felt like getting in the kitchen this afternoon so I "whipped" these biscuits up, just because. Y'all ever do that?
They are quick, easy, and tasty so give them a try. Here is the recipe.
2 cups self rising flour (plus some extra)
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp melted butter (plus some extra)
1 cup milk
1/3 cup mayonnaise

I made some Miracle Whip Biscuits the other day and instead of using Milk I used Beer and the biscuits turned out to be the best biscuits I ever made in my life!!! Learned that trick from my Daddy about switching out milk for beer!!! Beer adds leavening like crazy!!!!

@@TheOleTobaccoPatch they were very tasty and my grandkids ate them up like crazy!!! I highly recommend them!!! But add the beer in very slowly until the biscuits are at the right consistency in order to roll them out!!! Don't add an entire can or bottle of beer in all at once!!! This way you won't have to add more flour in to stiffen up the dough!!!

I must admit, I am a carb rebel. In these days of extreme diets like keto (which, in many cases, feel a little too fad-ish, especially when I encounter people who really don't need to lose a lot of weight to begin with), I am one who loves my carbs.
These biscuits look like a carb rebel's dream. Perfect for making breakfast sandwiches or using as the biscuit topping for a casserole or shepherd's pie, or whatever. 😁😁😁

I'm eating low carb.. but I make things like this a lot.... if I was trying to lose weight I'd not eat biscuits.. but I'm on maintainance now so I just don't eat carbs every meal, I treat myself and eat low carb to stay healthy.
Knead the dough in the bowl saves on having to clean up more. Simple recipe thanks for sharing.

no, no reason. It's just a throwback to my Mom's.
I have never heard of mayo biscuits. I hope the Mayo don't give them a strange taste.....just made some....will bake them in the morning. Here goes nothing...☺️

So-you measured out 2 cups of flour in the beginning, then you added more two more times. About how much total flour would you say was in the recipe? 3 cups? 2 and 1/2?
2 1/2 at the most. the 1/2 is to keep it workable

I just looked at another recipe that only added 1/4 cup milk to one cup of flour.. so I think the 1 cup milk may be too much?

thanx for sharing. Looks so yummy, but I'm confused. You said these biscuits were a little different from your Momma's biscuits because she didn't roll hers out. I didn't see you roll those biscuits in this video, either. What gives ? And, thanx again.
at minute 3:40, you will see me rolling out "in hand". That is what she didn't do, she had a wetter dough and spooned them out on the baking sheet.
Can U Use Miracle Whip Instead Of Mayo ...
Hmmm... I have never tried it. Miracle Whip tends to have a little "zip". I don't know how well that would taste in a biscuit. Give it a try and let me know

If ur mom did not add sugar why did u ..have u tried with out sugar to notice a difference ..do u think there will b a difference also not using cast iron
I wanted to try the version with sugar added...subtle taste diff to me. When cast iron gets hot, it really holds the heat so they may get done/brown quicker in cast iron. I hope you have a great day, and thanks for watching/commenting.
