You guys are amazing. Thank you so much!!
OHHH YURRRRRR!!!
#metallica #one #drums
I've heard this song a bajillion times but I still watched all the way though ohhh yurrrrrr
It never gets old. It’s just as intense as ever. Samus killed it!
same here
SAME🤘🏻🤘🏻
And you'll listen to it a bajillion more.
Ohhhh yurrrrr
As a child I thought this was the heaviest song in existence
It still is a very heavy feeling song. Not as "heavy" as many metal bands nowadays but heavy is in the writing not the speed. One is a banger every time. That double bass breakdown with James's chugging behind it is one of the heaviest feeling parts in a song ever recorded. You can't not wanna scream as loud as possible when listening to it.
"Darkness"
"Imprisoning me"
"All That I See"
"Absolute Horror"
I get the same feeling now at 43 as I did the first time I heard it. A room with one playing above 100 decibels is one the heaviest feelings music will ever give a person. I know hundreds of songs that are faster and more brutal than one but none give me the same feeling of power.
Not the heaviest but still, heavy as F'ing F in 2023
Still heavy, and it's in E Standard
well, it is. The - completness of it.
shredding in D or C ... isn't heavy. Double bassing to pain isn't heavy! If it has no meaning, to the song, to the music ... it's, just STUPID. Nevermind the type of music. Song, music, has to carry a message.
One is best (and the heaviest) song ever written! Period.
As a child.......you were not wrong.
Just like a wartime Baaaaheee

Haha yeah

3 days ago? This video says One day tho
@@RileyNewcomb Patreon followers get first peek.
This is getting closer to him covering Dyers' Eve.. I hope. Josh steffens cover of it is fucking awesome but it'd be equally awesome to see Samus play even half of it.
His cover of orion, especially arter the mellow part is just brilliant.
Samus - great sound, i’ll play and watch this on friday with a nice beer.
There’s a video on RUclips of him playing dyers eve, it was during a live stream
@@Alex123prod someone stole that and made their own video though I believe. I'd much rather watch it here and help the person who learnt and played the song and then made the video.
Dyers eve with blast beats also. Be badass
@@Dixie-Normus666 Would definitely be badass
Let's be real. We all love Lars' playing from the 80's.
I always loved lars drumming i dont get why people cant understand that people have different opinions
Oh my GOD. FINALLY someone with a proper setup with the snare in the center. Can’t say I particularly love those cymbals though.
Just the 80s let's be clear! He lost it in the 2000, so the 90s weren't be either!
@@rowanmartin4397 theres no "proper setup" with drums and the reason most people dont have the snare in the middle is because they either dont have a double bass or it feels comfortable
Awesome job man 🎉🎉😎👌👌👌
12 year old me hearing that for the first time was blown away by what I thought of as the fastest bass drumming ever. Watching this 20 years later it feels incredibly calm watching your feet do it!
Haha right? This song blew my mind as a 13 year old, it was just such a badass heavy song.
basically this was the "mainstream" song that bought that beat and double kick work into the forefront. People shit on Lars but the whole album and this song especially drove drumming to where it is today. Hell, even Fear Factory who "pioneered" certain sounds can't deny the drums were influenced by this and making it the focus of the whole song.
@@Wallie8228 stands the test of time ...
Another killer cover, and a hell of a nice cav too
The cymbal work in this song is something to be admired. Definitely Lars' creativity at his best.
Well that’s all he does right? Hi hat forever. Sometimes ride the crash
@@supremelordoftheuniverse5449 Have you even listened to the Justice album?
@@supremelordoftheuniverse5449 yes. The only song I can think of without any cheating that uses the ride cymbal, is Until It Sleeps... And that is perhaps my favourite Metallica song.
En todo el disco
Disposable heroes , and many songs on kill'em all like hit the lights
People shit on Lars but his 80’s work was undeniably unique. His playing on this song was extremely tasteful. I look at this one as James being the metronome for the first half and just letting Lars be an artist.
Lars' work in the 80s is unique and awesome. It culminated on the AJFA album. He really did amazing shit! The creativity is out of this world!
@@JeremiasDK i agree.
I think Lars as a drummer & Metallica as a band hit their pinnacle with AJFA.
Although, I believe Lars did use a lot of 2nd, 3rd & 4th tracks combined to sound more complexin recording that album.
I remember in junior high watching a vhs tape about Metallica recording or "the making of..." or something, where Lars or his drum tech admitted he had other dudes choking his cymbals for him during recording AJFA. The arrangements are still awesome & I think "puppets" & "justice" are Metallica's best all around.
as a person, I think he is a douchebag tho
@@maximusaugustus6823 😂👍💯

03:48 the moment we all have been waiting for
The comment we all have been looking for
Well done, Lars would be proud
Yes he would
Fuck yeah!
He'd be jealous
@@Alex-Walker Lars doesn't care if people are better than him in terms of technical skill. At the end of the day he wrote those drum lines so why would be be jealous lmao
@@Lopez-my1bo he should be embarrassed when he cant play it the way it supposed to be played....simple as that
We need a Samus version "Justice with Al" .. would you like to !
YES HE NEEDS TO
YES!
BRO, i just searched for “‘Metallica One drum cover” and watched you “Blackened” cover...
Now, a few minutes later, the notification pops out!
I’m speechless.
Aliens!
UFOs!
Not a drummer here but appreciate how perfect your notes are timed within the measures. Whether it's snare hits or double kick, there is no lag, no rushing...they are perfect sixteenth notes or whatever it calls for placed exactly in time. Well done sir
"WHOO!" indeed, sir.

If this tune doesn't move you.
You have no soul!
i has been witing for this one sooooooo long
One, I see what you did there
It’s funny how much faster those double kicks at the end seem in my memory than they actually are. Great cover!!!
Lars‘ most tasty drums. Seeing you playing this so flawlessly and on point, together with the mix....makes it really enjoyable
Man lars haters give him credit . Oh yeah also he may have saved what's left of music industry...fools
Fun Fact: He seems to be soo relaxed that he might have slept and played the first 4mins of the song! 😂
MAN, AM I GLAD I stumbled upon this video! I have been a Metallica fan since 1993 when I was 13 and was gifted the "And Justice For All" album. My 1st introduction to Metallica. To say that "ONE" is my favorite song is a understatement. I have always been in awe of Lars drumming skill & ability. If I was to watch this video blind, I WOULD NOT, be able to tell the difference between you and Lars. It is that spot on and perfect. PROPS, my brother. You did great. And my favorite part of the whole video is the WHOOOO! at the end. I LOVE IT!
thank you so much dude!!!
heard this song a billion times, I still get chills when its quiet and all you hear is the double bass before the riff comes in
That double bass drum part will always be Epic! Brilliant idea to execute in a brilliant song. Good work 66!
Simply accurate!
The sound of the bass drum is excellent!
Fuck yeah I love how you keep EVERYTHING original and respect the song in it’s entirety 🤘🏻 respect!
Always love how the double bass drum parts start in the background.. then become the focus.. then it's absolutely everywhere great cover dude
Dude!!! This is brutal... you played every note the exact way as recorded, but only million times better!!!
Million times better? 🤣 need to get of the crack pipe and lars hate train bud 🤣 it's as good as/indistinguishable from the album drums, note for note perfection 👌
As a musician who can play multiple instruments....
Drummers are a different breed
Those hats were set for just the right amount of "sizzle" for the intro. Kit sounds great.
Lars used the drums just the right amount in this song. Also what a beautiful kit. Something about drums and cymbals are so gorgeous 😍
I think the drumming in on this album is an exercise in restraint, not simplicity, everything fit the music, this perfectly illustrates this. For all the flaws Lars may have, there's no denying Justice is a classic and his work on it was excellent
What a coincidence, I was learning this song and than he uploaded this, helps out I guess.
Still waiting on Domination, passing the time with Metallica.
PERFECT!
This is the first metal song to ever grab my attention as a kid...The visuals to the video were insane for the time and it still gives me goosebumps till this day

I’ve been a Metallica fan my whole life. From one drummer to another, you have some crazy skills man! Another awesome cover! 🤘
verse of One:
award for the most awkward kick fills ever.
This cover is the most correct cover on youtube that I've seen
wow thank you very much Billy!!!
Love lars on justice, great cover
You nailed it! Ya gotta admit, for all the flak Lars takes, he is fantastic at arranging songs and coming up with parts.
It’s like listening to the album, with how ur drums sound, what a wicked sound.
Now my world is gone,
i'm Twenty Twoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I'm trying to learn One rn and this helped a lot.
So is Lars

AMAZING MIRACLE
I've just gone down the rabbit hole of watching drum covers of this song, and..this is the only one I found actually nailing it.
wow man thank you very much!!
Man, Metallica is with out a doubt the best metal band. I dont care what anyone says. Just great songs. In my opinion Lars is the best "Drummer" of all time. I dont care how technical someone can play. He is a master drummer and a master songwriter. Great cover BtW. Just watching the drums isolated like that really makes you realize just how special Metallica is.
Yeah, this is an opinion. Lars is nowhere near the best Drummer ever. But he is damn good for Metallica especially in the studio
First song that ever got me into double bass
Now that's the way you start the new year!
Perfect song and a hell of a drummer.
Man, that's such a perfect and accurate mix. People said the triggers dont work on the EMAD huh
I was air guitaring to the beginning, but brought my guitar upstairs towards the end. 💥🖤🤘🏼
What a perfect one cover...love it...
Lightning, Puppets and Justice are all an absolute drum clinic ~
Some drummer passion came to this world with this song when I was 14. Oh yuurrrrrr!
Was just listening to this song, remastered version by Andy Khailat and the 1989 Seattle version. Seen this appear 1 minute ago, now time for the third consecutive listen. Thank you Samus!
Loved the way you flawlessly played those two tom fills towards the end, because I believe it was recorded by him separately and then blended into the rest recorded in other take. Cool.
good job....Thanx for did a cover from one of the most influence drummer since 1983 ... I hate to read a stupid comment about the guy to started this kind of drumming...Than Thnax lars and the metallica guys....
wow. it is flawless and I believe it is the exactly same partition as in the album, note by note. wow.
I don’t think it can be played more perfectly than that!
I went straight to metallica video clip after that
I will never get enough of that song
Nice to see the snare drum of a true legend being put to good use! Nice cover!
Respect to Samus for doing this. Don’t get me wrong blast beats for fuckin life but it’s cool to see him change it up.
Very crisp crash sound. The snares, amazing as well. Keep up the good job!
Dude I truly admire your playing ability!! So smooth and effortless 💯
So clean
Wow, beautifully played man
Fantastic rendition! Every beat and fill is precisely correct as far as I am concerned. Great Job!!
thank you so much!!!
Those right side hats are like getting a good nights rest to a melody
Never noticed until now how little you use the hi hats on the left. I put one one the right as well and it really helped when playing metal songs.
Finally, the cover we've been waiting for. YOU ROCK!
Back when music was great, let's never forget!
music is still great haha :)
cheers!
Everyone was probably waiting for blast beat/double strokes and gravity blast... Thanks Samus just a straight to the note cover ;)
I am very impressed, that you didn't fall asleep while playing ;) Best wishes from Austria, your ROCK! Ohhhhhh Yurrrrrrr
Bruh u killed this bc u keep it the same pretty much especially when the double kick shines in the song as we all know as drummers... I've seen others try to fancy it up.. Kno sir... keep it CLASSY AND SASSY.... OOHHHH YUUURRHHH!!!!!
Amazing that you can play the bass at the same time
I wanted so much to hear a One version with the double-kicks in time. Thank you. Also, you've nailed the sound of ...AJFA drums.
Dude!!!! Fuckin DUUUUDE!!! That sounds 100% like the drums on the album!!!
You are an amazing drummer!
Never get tired of anything off AJFA
Nice cover
Great work! I didn’t realize toms took a back seat on this.
this song is my first live jam...unforgettable experience....Idol 66 samus
God it's nutty watching you play such a classic
There could be only ONE Samus and he smashed it like the original, one of the tightest and presentable covers with outstanding effort.
My all time favorite song with out a doubt 🤘🏻
Maaaan this kit is beautiful
Fantastic work. Also, your drums are tuned to perfection.
Great job man great job. That was a flawless performance thank you for sharing much appreciated. 👍👍🤘🤘
Snare keeps going non stop even when switching hands!!! I like that.
The bass drum sounds brings such satisfaction to me for some reason
the drumming during the sow parts is very intricate
If you have a good sound system like mine G560 put on max volume it will blast your head off, specially on the double bass part, man, AWESOME!
I hope learn this track on drums in this mounth!
I can’t tell you how much I’ve been wanting you cover this song. Absolutely fantastic dude.
This song is metalhead beast
Proud for you Metallica 🎸😈
Still amazed at how Metallica made all the instruments sound like guns firing.
Its like hearing war and anxiety all at once. 3:52
You played the drum AND bass guitar part at the same time, such talent.
Some of the best drum playing and drum tones of all time. And Lars has never played any of the songs right. This album was absolutely groundbreaking. Great job Samus!
Man I'm glad Weird Al decided to play drums lol love ya man keep the badassery up
Playing is on point! I don't care for the drum triggers on the snare and tom toms, but that's just a matter of taste. ROCK ON!
Great sound and playing
