I was working outside on a townhouse, when a garage door opened across the street. All of a sudden a beast fired up. It was a red GT500. My life hasn’t been the same.
Okay, first things first I want to emphasize how much I love that you didn't rev it to the moon off the limiter! When I want to hear how exhaust sounds, those light revs are what sound absolutely immaculate to me, just letting the engine growl more than scream. And secondly, I'm all for straight pipes and and louder exhaust, when necessary. In this particular application/video I actually preferred the factory sound more. Strictly just because it brought a nice bubbly tone to the exhaust. The h pipe and resonator delete (in my opinion) made it a little too raspy. All in all, great video! Nice and simple, yet very effective back to back comparison, neutral (calm) revs and some acceleration variety! Just all around a very well done video!
Yea the stock exhaust is very nice. This is coming from a guy who would run a pentastar v6 with a 3in straight pipe. (Yes I know) it was on my 07 Jeep kk and it sounded amazing. Pops like an ak on downshifts and smashes each up shift like a Volkswagen with that nice pur. It was insane how good it sounded. Too bad the Jeep was an old ugly off roader/winter car for me
I’m usually the guy that would immediately get an aftermarket exhaust or change something in the factory exhaust but honestly the gt500 is one of the few cars where I would leave the exhaust bone stock. It’s not too loud but it still has a good amount of throatiness too it. H-pipe was just too Barky and raspy for my liking
@@ErmacNcheese7856 yeah say that till you have to drive for long periods. I agree with Lorenzo, it got louder, which if that is what you want great. But IMO it sounds worse overall. And a big part of that was getting rid of the pipe whose one job it to get rid of unwanted vibration and sounds. Comparison that comes to mind is when you turn the volume up too high with some shitty headphones, and the sound just turns muddy and harsh. Stock sounded crisp and showed an obvious direction Ford was trying to go with with exhaust note. While loosing the resonance pipes got louder, it added a bunch of frequencies that simply don’t sound as pleasant, while also making the car a pain in the ass to road trip with. I probably would be one of those neighbors lol. I have a stock GT and think it sounds great and loud enough. It's an attention grabbing annoyance for the people who live within your proximity.
I have this exact set up on my 2019 5.0 and compared to a stock 5.0, its crazy how much louder it is. I get compliments on it all the time and they ask what exhaust and are shocked when I tell them just a resonator delete with a H-pipe. Its a perfect balance for a daily driven 5.0.
I love the sound of the H pipe. A lot of people say they don't like the raspiness, but I personally don't mind. then again, I like when they're louder, not necessarily sounding better.
