Nothing like a tutorial with real life direct applicability. Peak education. They could never explain to me the real life applicability to integrals, but had to learn them regardless.
your video titles make it sound like "geolayer for beginners", but when i start watching the video i realize that this is actually a very advanced tutorial.
Ah yeah, I understand that. If you're looking for a beginner level tutorial on GEOlayers, check this one out - ruclips.net/video/dBqZs9uT6Hw/видео.html :)
Nice video Boone! Regarding the map that you show at 0:08 seconds in and again at 0:14, there is somewhat of a slight "terrain" being showed. The map is not all flat. I can't seem to find this type of map in GeoLayers. So I'm wondering how did you, or Johnny make this type of map? I've seen it being used all over. But can't really figure out how it's getting that very nice subtle terrain look!
Some of the mapcomp imagery in GEOlayers have a Hillshade option which is customizable. This might only be available with the MapTiler premium plan, but not entirely sure.
@@BooneLovesVideo Yeah Maptiler hillshade is amazing. We can lower it or make it higher if we wish to. Its the part for map tiler premium not included in map tiler lite part
Johnny doesn’t design his maps in Geo-Layers. He uses Mapbox for design (where you can easily add hill shading and bathymetry data) and imports them into GL for animation. He actually addresses this in his video, “How I Make My Maps.” Check it out.
Thanks for sharing those tips .. your work is amaizing and very professional.. I just have a question in mind related indirectly to this and I want your advice .. I am planning to get a laptop this month and am aiming for the new Macbook pro (14inch) ... do you think that this is a good choice for someone who's planning to create those sort of animations and edits in AE ... I am not quite sure if this Macbook could handle those type of projects .. I guess that you do most of your work with big machines .. probably a Pc or iMac .. but I just want your opinnion .. should I get this macbook or should I buy other Laptop (the one you think is better for AE) .. Ps. My budget is 2000€ .. and sorry for the long comment 🤣🤣 ... and thank you so much for your answer and your work in general 😁😁
Thanks for the nice words! And sorry, I'm not entirely sure regarding hardware. However I used to create animations with GEOlayers on my old 2014 refurbished pimped out MacBook pro.
Great video but unfortunately After Effects is a bit above my budget. Is there another tool that can do something similar which is either free or less pricey?

You can use the shaded relief or World terrain map comp and blend that with the duplicated map

Pimped out ASUS Zenbook Pro duo
when you make a Jhonny harris type video, do you need to use premiere pro given that everything can be done in after effects
