The keys improving meditation include
1) remind yourself why you want to meditate (motivation)
2) lift the eyes gently behind closed lids to keep concentration high
3) try focusing on multiple points of concentration such as; watch the flow of the breath past the frontal lobe of the brain (near the spiritual eye, focus the feeling of the breath, find the perfect relaxed seated pose for you so that you are not distracted by the body.
