Notification squad! Yay! My internet is so so so bad but I'm still trying my best to watch this video. It's taking forever to load D: A thing about fish: Wild fish caught from the sea might not be such a good idea. Oftentimes, wild fish is caught by trawling, which basically means brushing up a whole part of the ocean, and picks up all sorts of marine life and destroys the ocean floors and corals, and kills all sorts of wildlife, while actually fishing the fish, and then just dump the dead animals back into the sea. Not so nice... it's basically as bad as eating shark fins, where they take them out, cut the fins off, and thrown them back into the water. Without the ability to swim, well... poor fishies. Shrimp is very often also fished by trawling, which is why I avoid eating shrimp. The best option, as far as I know, is to get farmed fish, from a reliable and conscious farm (that actually feeds the fish with kelp, and not corn, or other grains). I know, it's still very hard to find, especially in regular grocery stores. What I personally do is simply avoid eating fish, so one or two times a month at most, and eat seaweed (such as Japanese Nori, or Spirulina) which is also high in EPA and DHA (omega-3). Seaweed is actually where fish get the omega 3 in the first place, and fish higher in the food chain have higher levels of the fatty acids because they eat smaller fish. In this way, tuna would be a better source of omega-3 than sardines, for instance. Still, I prefer to eat kelp, as a way to reduce my footprint, especially with endangered species like tuna. In the end, when I do buy fish, I don't really "care" where it comes from, as the particular grocery store where I buy is strongly against trawling and selling endangered species (yay!), although it does carry a bit of a higher price. This comment got long! Anyway, I really wish you a very happy pregnancy
I was super nauseous the whole first trimester and had to take time off working out. I usually am hard core at the gym and yoga. Good to hear I'm not the only one who had to stop. Second trimester I started doing Barre classes b/c other than the ab portion, there's a lot you can do pregnant. It's mostly squats, weights for arms, etc. Check that out. Nausea and diet was really hard for me. I've been eating way more carbs than I usually do. I'd love to hear more tips on diet while pregnant etc. Oh and anything about swollen ankles would be great. haha.
Okay, I'm pregnant too (18 weeks) and I feel like you should do a pregnancy series! Like workouts, nutrition... things that anyone can relate to but with a pregnancy option/twist. Because like you, I was extremely nauseous the entire first trimester and I also have a 3 year old, and I just think it would be awesome to follow along and see how a model/nutritionist/mommy keeps in shape (and really anything else) during this time because I do not want to gain a ton of weight or make things harder on myself later on either! Just a suggestion. ❤️
