Emperor AI is not realistic to a CPL game and you’re probably going to be a lot more crammed and you’re going to have to worry about the AI being ridiculous which people in CPL won’t do. Also King+ AI are disproportionately powerful on online speed because their bonuses immensely snowball them
So I finally dipped my toe in the CPL discord, I’m used to beating up friends but had my eyes opened to how well Civ 6 can be played by people like you and UnderCiv. My first game I finished mid lobby, and then just had everyone cc in my second. It’s just the noob lobby and I’m sure there’s plenty of mistakes which weren’t punished, and I felt incredibly stressed for time during nearly every turn, but my improvement as a player has been immense. Thanks so much for these vids as they’ve finally pushed me to go for something I’ve always been interested in. Hitch signing off ;)

One question, idk people can reach like 100/300/600 whatever number on Science and culture for example, is for the game speed? Because i cant get more than 50 or so (I play solo and sometimes with friends) I play on standard speed
thank you Mr Herson for the detaield exploration of cif 6 Multy player & showcasing your process of thinking behind the details but i think you have missed one critical fact ? if i may suggest is it not absolutly broken to build hevy caff on masss early to then upgrade them in to Thanks later i dont kow if the gold spent 4 every turn + upgrade realy is cheaper but whit the policy card - 1 gold on units ( standing ) it would take 1 city like 10-15 turns building horses + comercial & encampment and if you already know some fight is up why spend 50% prod on a tank when you can have 3 prebuilds + the gold to upgrade them cheap ( relativly speaking of course ) the Maht may nor work out because city 9-10 may not be abel to build caff in under 4 turns on 3-5 pop but my guess would be such operation is to expensive / to keep 1k gold on hand for upgrades other players already have build and could break in at anny given time is a no no may you give us some overview what units cost in prod + cost per turn / cards ( if youd be willing to give us all units at once on the civs who change prod on units it would be my pleasure since i am too ocupied calculating it on my on / i mean my head works already but not so much wehn i am in a game xd peace out & thank you all civ has a large but Friendly comunity i m head out
Prod on prebuilds is prod you dont use on something that actually improves your empire. Unless your prebuilds are upgraded into relevant units and sent to war quickly, there is no point. Holding on 20 horses or w/e just so you can eventually use them 30 turns later is just a sure way to lose the game. Also free simming always wins against early war. You barely snowball out of an early war. Just look at the ffa final, the guy who won didnt do any fight at all, the second went to war when it was the right time against people who went to war early.
I really appreciate the narration and presentation here. Telling a good multi story is amazing. Telling 3 is even better. Telling 3 to demonstrate a core point is just top notch content
High yield districts, era combat units, wonders, great people. Great people can really add up. Building a railroad between cities is big. Holding off on things like your tier 1 government and first galley until the classical era can really help get your second golden age, since the first one is generally very easy. Era tracker mod may help you learn all the ways to get era score and come up with some plans for your games.
@@cellamuert First GA is super easy for some civs and really hard for others. Naval civs without early UU or early districts for instance it's a 50/50 shot if you only make one scout in order to have an early builder to get the boost for harbours, for instance. Overall I would say the first GA is actually the hardest to get except for some civs that get early tile improvements, UU or commercial hub/campus/holy site replacements. If you get that 1st one, the subsequent ones are pretty easy if you're just doing normal things, (all your districts are +3 or better, you run projects to grab at least one great person from each type, you create great works, you suze city states, you get techs/civics from later eras, etc).
@@jgalt99 Huts, barb camps, and natural wonders *generally* make it pretty easy. In my experience. You can always get dicked by circumstance, of course. If it's a consistent issue for someone, I'd think they're not scouting enough.

But if your a harbour civ then you have to open scout, builder, 2x settler and now you have to get lucky to get a GA because your harbour probably won't come out until right at the classical era divide, and you're not guaranteed a natural wonder unless your map settings are abundant wonders. This isn't so much of an issue because harbour civs are legitimately stronger long term vs com hubs, but still you stress that first GA the most. As the game progresses you have more tools to generate era score and subsequent GAs are easier. I've never really had to stress over my 2nd or 3rd or 4th GA, it's always the first one that is dicey. You need to generate 1 era point per turn, and that can be a tough ask with only 1 scout and a warrior and bad rng with huts/wonders.
Multiplayer is pretty niche. Most people just want to watch a well-edited game vs the AI like Potato, Ursa, Marbozir, Boesthius, etc. I still watch those creators, but Herson has made me a much better player with his vids.

You basically have to have 8 to 10 free hours every day to play CPL. Many of those players are in there 16 hours a day. And they get nothing for their time and effort. Just some imaginary ELO Number.

This is online speed so if you're playing singleplayer on standard it's equivalent to turn 140. 300 science on turn 140 is pretty achievable.
