Just a tip: WOOL SOCKS will make a TREMENDOUS difference in keeping your feet warm in really cold weather. I've worked numerous outdoor jobs in very cold NYC and D.C. Winter conditions and Wool Socks are definitely the way to stay warm.
Michael Chan the lining is pretty thin. You can't really wear something under, cause leather jackets are normally very fitted. And the leather gets very cold if it is cold outside
I like how versatile coats are, you can wear them for formel occasion but you can pair thim with a casual outfit as well, to get that street style inspired look, nice video
You are the best Brock. Recently got out of a four year relationship (and engagement) and have been so insecure about my height. I'm about 5 -7 and have had a hard time finding my style. Your videos have helped me a ton man and Peter Manning is an amazing company! This channel is amazing.
That parka you mention is hugely unsuitable for LOW temperatures, as that calls for DOWN insulation and short sleeves are DRAMATIC! Just try a REAL good winter down parka like some expedition grade down parkas by The North Face (Himalayan parka), Mountain Hardwear (Absolute Zero parka), Fjallraven (Expedition down parka no. 1), Canada Goose (Expedition) or Arcteryx (cold WX parka SVX). And YES, these are bulky and thick, as they simply HAVE to be that way to keep you warm! All 5 I mentioned are very good, I have them all, so I can tell you from my OWN experience. You cannot be picky about your looks if real cold is coming, then FUNCTION is all that counts. And for gloves, you'd better take a pair of Mountain Hardwear "Absolute zero" ones, and for protecting your head, the Fjallraven "Varmland heater" is a really good option. And of course: merino wool base layer and some layers of fleece will also help.
Long johns are so commonplace here in Canada you'll see sales for them in late August. Absolute life savers. If you freeze around your thigh area it's time to make the switch.
I’m 62, and have lived in the upper Midwest most of my life. Unless you spend a lot of time outside, or ride public transportation you really don’t need big bulky coats or clunky boots. Even if you’re traveling in rural areas, just make sure you have emergency gear in your car. (Sleeping bag, water, and snacks) Oh, and a shovel! : )
About gloves: check the stitching but because I have small hands, as with golf gloves too, Womens large fits me perfectly. Mens M fingertips are too long & funny enough so is S, but tighter. Food for thought. 👍🏼up to you
Brock thanks for making this video, actually I am looking for a pair of gloves and I always have that problem where they fit my palm but the fingers are too long.
I live in New Orleans so my winter is more like fall. Will probably only get to sub 50 degree temps for a couple weeks, so I'll have to pass on all this cool stuff. Your haircut looks great btw.
I've only been to Nola once, and it was some of the best food I've ever had. And thanks! I'm loving this shorter haircut. Nice change from the undercut.
Literally cannot survive Northeastern winters without a good pair of wool socks and lip balm. Balaclavas are easier to use, albeit less stylish, than scarves. And when it snows, sunglasses are a must! Snow blindness is real.
Great video as always Brock! Man I just found your channel and it kind of saved my style life! Being 167cm is though, but you help me feel less lonley xD
Brock what is a good tip or way on how to properly put on a sweater over a button down shirt? Like what is an easier way to do ut without doing all the adjusting or messing up the collar?
I love your channel! I'm planning to move to Europe in February and I come from a tropical country. Can I buy a polyester top coat instead of wool and still be comfortable at below zero temperatures?
I love your channel and your style, but I'm 6'8" and in regards to clothing options, I can't help but envy you... My shoe size is 15 so I pretty much have to adapt every time I go shopping; jeans and pants overall are the worst thing to deal with. All sleeves are short for me, XXL is a joke size. I mean, I'm not even fat. So yeah, I might be taller but when you're this tall, it stops being cool all the time. It's cool some times though xD
Solid outro. I don't know why I'm stuck on your channel, I'm 5'11. I have a 27" waist though, and a 32-34" inseam. Nothing ever fits off the rack, but I like outfitting things.
The Modest Man baggy, especially through the butt and thighs, and short or cropped. Every pant looks like it's cropped or flooded, every short stops at my forearms.
hello, happy new year sir brock...i just have some questions for you if you don't mind, so here it goes: what is the difference of overcoat & topcoat? & which one is much versatile to use? & another question, do you happen to know the exact measurement of the banana republic topcoat camel colored from armpit to armpit (in inches) between sizes XS & S?...thanks in advance for reading & replying...more power to your channel...
Hey, Just wanted to say that the new size 1 Peter Manning essex suit came. It fits great. It is not super trendy slim, but slim classic. I think you should try it out.
+Nicholas Widjaja that's the problem with fast fashion...you can't find the same jacket from even one or two seasons ago. I don't really know what this style is called, but you can look for a short, insulated jacket with a stand up collar (as opposed to a gold down collar or no collar, like a bomber).
I felt like I started the video and immediately saw all 7 pieces and no longer needed to watch the video. They are basic timeless pieces and I didn't need the description for them to know what they were. 30 seconds should be the length of the video.
Yeah I live in Arizona right now, but I'm from the east coast and go back there regularly. I've heard Austin is ridiculously hot and humid, but otherwise an awesome place to live.
I just bought this season's Banana Republic camel topcoat and have to warn short guys against it. I am 5'7" 150 lbs, got XS size, and the coat has many problems. The sleeves are too long and it has functioning buttons, so shortening the sleeves is a no go (actually I just looked at your sleeve length in the video, its the same meaning it goes down to where my thumb starts. Maybe some like it that way, but I want it shorter, ending where the hand meets the wrist. For an example see the sleeve length on Gents Lounge new video, that shorter sleeve length looks better IMO). Also the coat is too long, longer than your coat in this video even though I am slightly taller than you. Third, the waist is too baggy, in this video your waist is nice and snug when buttoned but mine has a lot of room. The only thing that fits is the shoulders, and only with a suit jacket under. It's too big for wearing without a suit jacket. I returned this coat.
You idiot, he's not telling us to wear those things, he's giving examples of WHICH ONES (color, fit, style etc.) You are aware this is a style channel right? Can't get over how stupid your comment is.
Just a tip: WOOL SOCKS will make a TREMENDOUS difference in keeping your feet warm in really cold weather. I've worked numerous outdoor jobs in very cold NYC and D.C. Winter conditions and Wool Socks are definitely the way to stay warm.
And what if you're allergic to wool, like I am?
@@325iaddict Cashmere?
@@AT-yn9dm No, in no way to compare to a good warm expedition down parka. That's the only parka that will keep me warm if real cold comes...
I wear a Leather jacket during winter and if I freeze to death. I died with Style
Dexter Morgan I don't own one, but how is a leather jacket cold?
Michael Chan the lining is pretty thin. You can't really wear something under, cause leather jackets are normally very fitted. And the leather gets very cold if it is cold outside
Amen! =D
Those boots and jacket would be perfect for my job on snow days. I might need to invest.
That's why you should get a leather jacket slightly larger than your actual size, so that you can layer things under it.
You are my go to style advisor Brock when it comes to matching colours and simplicity.. now I found my style that Im looking for.
I like how versatile coats are, you can wear them for formel occasion but you can pair thim with a casual outfit as well, to get that street style inspired look, nice video

That BR topcoat is slick. I like the chest pocket, you don't find that on outerwear very often!
Long johns are so commonplace here in Canada you'll see sales for them in late August. Absolute life savers. If you freeze around your thigh area it's time to make the switch.
Going to buy a pair of these Sorels tomorrow :) I think it's a great alternative to L.L. Bean boots
i loaded on those banana republic overcoats as well...great video as always!
+The Style O.G. Love the way they fit! Thanks man, we need to collaborate soon 😎
let's get that done for sure!
Salute lmao
That would be an awesome collab. My 2 favorite style youtubers.

Favorite men’s channel right now. Keep it up!
Thanks man, will do!
That base layer is crucial on top and bottom. Cardigans, and quilted vests go a long way, and of course a nice winter beard.
About gloves: check the stitching but because I have small hands, as with golf gloves too, Womens large fits me perfectly. Mens M fingertips are too long & funny enough so is S, but tighter. Food for thought. 👍🏼up to you
Absolutely love your videos. huge fan of your style!!!
Thank you!!
Great video - very helpful for someone like me who just moved from TX to Minnesota
My casual winter jacket is a brown Carhartt chore coat
Brock thanks for making this video, actually I am looking for a pair of gloves and I always have that problem where they fit my palm but the fingers are too long.
Thanks great video
Glad someone taking about cold weather dressing

Great video as always Brock! Man I just found your channel and it kind of saved my style life! Being 167cm is though, but you help me feel less lonley xD
+Patrick Bateman 👊🏼
intersting.. looking for capsule wardrobe winter advice exactly 1 year after this was published, to the day!
Brock what is a good tip or way on how to properly put on a sweater over a button down shirt? Like what is an easier way to do ut without doing all the adjusting or messing up the collar?
Good tips! I would add wool or cashmere sweaters and warm socks.
Chelsea's in Canada,fall in style!
hoodie jackets can be the best choice in winter
Damn, I love those boots!
I love your channel! I'm planning to move to Europe in February and I come from a tropical country. Can I buy a polyester top coat instead of wool and still be comfortable at below zero temperatures?
Custom leather gloves: Baller status.
Hard mode: Make them yourself.
This vid came in clutch thanks!
Thank you it was helpful:)
Love the GoT reference
Finally! A channel which doesn't scream HOMO!
“HOMOOOO”
I love your channel and your style, but I'm 6'8" and in regards to clothing options, I can't help but envy you...

Let me guess: most stuff is too baggy for you?
The Modest Man baggy, especially through the butt and thighs, and short or cropped. Every pant looks like it's cropped or flooded, every short stops at my forearms.
A gilet is great for fall and spring.
I love it! the exact video i need to see! iconic!

Can you please make a video on essential outfits with which we can make a foundational wardrobe
Hey, Just wanted to say that the new size 1 Peter Manning essex suit came. It fits great. It is not super trendy slim, but slim classic. I think you should try it out.
+Mami Burger thanks for the heads up!
dude, i like your videos. you are great. i am from India. keep add many videos about men lifestyle.
I got the parca and it is late! I love it very slim as parcas go like you said! good all around
Just got some Brooks brothers duck boots for $120 new
Great pair of boots
another great video to bad its always summer in San Diego, California O.o
Haha I feel you! I will definitely travel just to wear cold weather gear.
Lucky you, winter sucks so much. How's the weather there in February, coming to your city during the first week of Feb.
If you don’t like wearing hats but still want head protection, the duffle coat is basically a formal and warm hoodie.
Also need warm socks, lip balm and sunglasses.
Nice additions!
use veseline on lips. lip balms actually end up drying your skin even more.
Loved the outro
+jeppep95 thanks!
How tall are you? Scarfs are so underrated, they keep you warm and look good.
+Dean Winchester agreed! I'm about 5'6".
Do you think that chukka boots is good for super snowy weather?
What size are you wearing in the parka? Might definitely get one and you and I are the same size
What is the brand of your black top coat? Which model is it?
Wool socks from Darn tough
Hey Brock do you know of some good winter hiking pants for guys our height?
hey brock , can you guide me if i increase my shoulders size by exercise does it will make me look taller or not ? reply please
North Dakota you need these type of boots
Is the Alpha jacket you're wearing the Replica Gray/Orange version?
Yes sir!
what color is your parka coat on amazon? what size did you get ?
Color is called "Replica gray/orange" in XS
Where are those chino's from at 7:19?
Banana Republic (Fulton fit)
where did you get that blue jacket at 3:31? and are they parka jackets?
+Nicholas Widjaja that's an old jacket from Zara, probably 4 years old. It's not as warm as a parka.
it looks really nice, do you know what the name of the jacket is? so I can find it or something similar?
+Nicholas Widjaja that's the problem with fast fashion...you can't find the same jacket from even one or two seasons ago. I don't really know what this style is called, but you can look for a short, insulated jacket with a stand up collar (as opposed to a gold down collar or no collar, like a bomber).

@modestman is it okay to buy boots made of pvc leather??
+Nathan James I probably wouldn’t, unless you’re looking for a non-animal product.
warm flare pants
Brock in czech litteraly means shotgun shell :D
+Toxik Prophet badass.
Alpha,Chelsea,thursday ,all expensive
Hello, may I ask what watch are you wearing on your hand? :)
Do Top-Coats have only 3 buttons?
There’s no standard as far as I know.
I feel like Brock can be a cousin of Tom Holland lol
I don't like those shell toed boots. I'd go SF AF1, AF1 Duckboot, or the Converse mesh-backed leather Counter Climate boot for a clean look.
Fair enough. I like the rugged look myself.
I’m a girl and I liked everything : )
the duck boots is not an essential, this only works if the snow is 3 ft and above but for everyday, wolverine 1000 mile boot or red wings would work.
Wth is “winter”? Im in south Texas 🌞.
Our winter is basically an occasional cool breeze in December.
Watching this one year later
I live in Austin none of this even applies to me lmao
Yeah I live in Arizona right now, but I'm from the east coast and go back there regularly. I've heard Austin is ridiculously hot and humid, but otherwise an awesome place to live.
I live in Minneapolis, me either.
2:11 you look like Kevin Bacon XD
i wear a leather jacket during winter and if it's cold i close the zipper. it's a russian thing.
How to stay warm: down filled parka, wool socks, leather gloves.
Bonus points for cashmere lined gloves!
I just bought this season's Banana Republic camel topcoat and have to warn short guys against it. I am 5'7" 150 lbs, got XS size, and the coat has many problems. +conradwasalski4200 thanks for the warning. I could see BR sizing the jacket up a bit for this year to follow trends. Too bad 😔
Socks ,and my nordiques sweet shirt 😤👅😂
PS wool socks
Dude are you Paul Rudd's bro?
I some ways, he’s my spirit animal.
Socks?

boi
First item "i don't wanna break the bank"......$225 🤦🏻♂️😒🤣 niigga!!!
Slim fit, I see so is this video just for skinny guys?
the shoes look hella ugly. there are way better looking warm boots that are water resistant...
Such as...?
hey man im gonna teach you how to dress for the winter, wear a jacket a scarf shoes and gloves. uhhh I already learned this in kindergarten.
+FlashV weird that you're watching this video then 🤔
The Modest Man in the asumption that there would be something usefull
+FlashV so what would you put in a winter wardrobe essentials video, other than what I've included?
You idiot, he's not telling us to wear those things, he's giving examples of WHICH ONES (color, fit, style etc.) You are aware this is a style channel right? Can't get over how stupid your comment is.
