It just hit me how often Chris composes with odd Time signatures to give each song a unique alien feel. It's the kind of thing most people won't pick up on, but they'll feel that something is different that they can't quite put their finger on. This guy's music is incredibly inspiring to me as a composer.
It will be cool if the RoR Returns album commentary comes out. The music is the same as in the first game, and you have already made album commentary of this, but maybe you have something to add. I love the way you explain your music! Thanks for the Deadbolt and RoR OST, you're legend for me
0:27 i wish there was a longer extended version with just that sound. it sounds so good and deep into your soul, it sounds sad and epic at the same time. so good.
I'm so glad to be hearing this again after all these years, Chris your soundtrack is what imo heavily helps make Risk of Rain the series it is, I couldn't imagine these games without your creativity

My second favorite from the original OST, I love all of the references to it in would be future songs but something about this one is special.
Do you plan on releasing the slowed themes that play when defeated in-game? They sound distinctly different than just being played at 80% speed.
No, these are made using a real-time filter. They are not separate recordings.
