On his twitter his response was 'If people cared as much about toxic gamer communities as they do about thermal paste..." . How the Verge which is usually good content hasn't fired this guy off of his bad past work and blaming reactions on toxicity and racism, I don't know. As someone who has built his own PC for the last 15 plus years it is really easy and very simple hard part is trouble shooting defective parts If you have never done that before check out Jayz2cents for a good guide on how to build. I also build most of my pc outside the case then transfer it to the case once finished gives me more room and less cramped when setting the GPU and other parts.
Yeah haha what a moron. Not even mentioning HOW he applied it. Even a new pc builder with little to no experience but with common sense wouldn't make these mistakes lmao

@Illidan Stormrage I think nobody can be intelligent and honest and racist at the same time. These 3 don't add up. Swap racism for flat earth and the equation breaks for the same reason. 200 000 years ago (roughly) we split off from the neanderthal and other relatives and we are part of the gene pool of the earth, 98% dna similar to chimps, if we will draw a line about some fractions of percentiles of melanin in each other's skin, we are mad crazy, like depending on specificity, there are 7.5 billion individual "races" by DNA.
I am not going to lie. This is the first video of yours that I have watched. Your call out on his LoL play in the middle of this react watch was hilarious! Just for that I have subscribed.
The real thing about this video is The Verge shut it down, and blamed it on toxic gaming communities. When in fact, they wouldn't admit to instructing people on how to build a sitting fire hazard in their home...
That anyone even follows then and believe what they say, same goes for Buzzfeed, actually terrifies me, because it proves how many people are so incredibly ignorant and stupid. And these people are loyal sheep and will attack anyone who goes against them... It's scary, especially when the internet ignorant media takes them seriously and attack innocent internet profiles.
This video was made exclusively to make money with no care given about the people that will be scammed by it, no care at all about spreading misinformation and potentially ruining peoples first building experience. Absolutely toxic.
"now unfortunately, it looks like this CPU just didn't make it and that's a shame, but it happens sometimes, it's just a risk you're taking when you open up a CPU" when he smeared liquid metal all over it
Man, he built a worse computer than Lyle from Bitwit did... But seriously.. you cant blame this guy totally! they must of ask around the office if someone wanted to build a pc on youtube and handed him a script to read. what i want to know is why no on did any research on this... damn, the instruction booklet that came with motherboard has better advice than this video.
It must be, I mean, If I remember correctly, Corsair did have a case that require the use of an alan key to open its side glass panel so the one writing the script must have thought that the alan key is a required tool for Corsair's, if not all, cases.

Sadly a lot of people actually believe that a rubber band functions as an anti static bracelet. Or the ones that believe that wireless anti static bracelets work. xD
Please stop talking shit, that is not how the current works. First of all the bracelet is not connected to the ground so it won't protect you from a potential discharge. Second of all the only discharge that coud happened is form the cappacitors in your power source(that you don't have access to) but that won't kill you because the discharge of current it's for a verry short period of time. The only danger in this building pc video is his own stupidity. Thinking that a piece of rubber on your arm will save your live is just mind blowing!
Hey this is really useful, if you want to build a pc just listen to that guy pretending to know how to build a computer and do the exact opposite of whatever he says.
Now I live in constant fear of my power supply coming into contact with the case of my computer, shorting out and electrocuting me through the USB cable on my keyboard. What other hidden terrors lie inside my PC?!?! Help me, The Verge!
@DG_Lucifer I mean yes, obviously you can do it. But if you show this method in a tutorial video, you're just straight stupid. He even installed the GPU before the CPU. He installed every component in the wrong order in terms of easiness.
Stefan: ...A swiss army knife that hopefully has a screwdriver on it Stefan again: *uses a screwdriver instead* A swiss army knife that hopefully has a screwdriver on it: Am I a joke to you?!
Just a few things ya missed 1) Not only was thermal paste puked onto the CPU, but the pre-installed thermal paste on the water cooler was never removed. 2) He forced the longer radiator screws (the ones you use to go reach the rad through a fan) *through* the radiator. 3) He installed the PSU backwards so that the fan has no way of pulling sufficient air. Additionally, they later posted a picture of the "finished" "build" from another angle. While it also revealed even worse cable management, you could also see that the CPU cooler bracket is missing a screw.
Simpletroll Gt i mean, most of the parts or the circuit has capacitors in it, or transistors which potentially charged which if grounded on yrself, could damage the parts, my frd ruined his ram last time, but that happens extremy rarely, ps(those arent anti static bands, normal anti static bands have a alligator clip hanging around which u clamp it on the case or other objects to ground the circuit safely)

i mean i call the xbox power supply a brick just cause it metaphorically weights the same so maybe thats why he uses that
Power Supply = high voltage case
I've heard it be called a power brick.
@@SuperDud3ed I've never heard anyone call a power supply that goes inside a computer a brick, only the power adaptors that convert AC to DC for laptops and consoles and such. There is a huge difference between a power adaptor "brick" and a power supply. Calling them a brick is more of a slang term though so, it isn't well defined and gets the points across so yeah it doesn't matter.
Echo power brick isn’t bad, I’ve heard it said that way
On his twitter his response was 'If people cared as much about toxic gamer communities as they do about thermal paste..." . How the Verge which is usually good content hasn't fired this guy off of his bad past work and blaming reactions on toxicity and racism, I don't know. @@57F.K that's because there are a lot of stupid people (and they think they are smart) that is so creazy. It is just physics!
Please stop talking shit, that is not how the current works. First of all the bracelet is not connected to the ground so it won't protect you from a potential discharge. I like how by the end he's not even laughing anymore, just genuinely concerned.
Just a few things ya missed
1) Not only was thermal paste puked onto the CPU, but the pre-installed thermal paste on the water cooler was never removed.
So what your saying is that this man made an average PC with 2000 dollars up his ass.
