It's just too impractical for me. They're too big for what they do. I hardly ever make rice. I'm not willing to get rid of any of my other appliances to make room for something I'd use once every 2-3 months. Especially, when I can just make it on the stove.
It only really makes sense for people who would use it often. Like, I know that most people don't have a comal on their stove at all times, but I do because I use it all the time.

Think if I were to give these guys kind of snarky superhero names, they would be something like:
    - The Confident Hungryman for Jamie, because out of the three normals he doesn't seem to flop about or stress like a wet noodle. And obviously if Jamie walked in on a scene where there were a bowl of noodles, he would immediately start eating them. Which to be fair to Jamie, none of the other guys ever seem to taste their food that much so maybe they should try to emulate that part of Jamie's character a bit more.
    - The Cosmic Coward for Barry, because all of his ideas in these battles are so out of left field and so out of the box that I am not even sure that Barry would continue residing on the planet were he to become a super hero. And lets be honest, of all the guys, let alone all the normals, Barry stresses and freaks out the absolute most in the kitchen, making him the most cowardly of the chefs.
    - Captain Arrogance for Mike, because if I could be real for a moment Mike goes into these battles thinking he's the best from the very first moment, creates okay or good dishes and throws several forms of shade at the other two normals. I haven't watched every single battle; but, in every battle I have seen Mike has lost, and from seeing the other normals performances I have no doubt that the primary reason Mike does lose so often is because he thinks he's the best even though he also seems to be the only one who looks up and uses recipes...which I think is because he doesn't study as hard as his 'normal' brethren. The same brethren Mike frequently makes fun of.
