Lysoveta is now selling a LPC DHA krill suplument. I am the one that introduced Dr. Allen to LPC and eating fish roe. I was diagnosed with MD in 2019 and had significant vision loss. About 6 months ago I started eating fish roe every day and now the retinal damage ro my eyes is almost totally healed! My order from Lysoveta will be ariving shortly!
Yes, and the LPC DHA is very important for Apoe4 carriers who have impaired DHA pathways which might be one of the causes for their increased chance of getting alzheimers. The LPC Dha crosses the BBB unlike other forms of fish and krill oil DHA. Rhonda Patrick discussed this in a 2019 article, but Lysoveta [Fenix makes one] is the first of its kind.
Simon, have you checked out Ahiflower Oil, not only does it contain Alpha-Linoleic Acid,(ALA) it also has Stearidonic Acid (SDA) & Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) & Linoleic Acid (LA) & Oleic Acid, what are your thoughts/facts on Ahiflower Oil? Apparently Purslane, generally thought of as a weed, has large amounts of ALA with trace amounts of EPA! Love to hear your thoughts on this plant too. Thanks Simon, great video.
See the Dr. Barnard lecture on vegan linked from five months ago, where he argues that meat is the most processed food product; having gone through the biological factory, where there is rearranging of the amino acids, removing fiber, adding cholesterol, increasing saturated fat, etc.
Barnard is an unemployed psychiatrist highly trained to psych people out with false information. He has no credentials or Ph.D in nutritional biochemistry.
Ok Simon, so what the heck are us vegans supposed to do! I take 1000 of vegan (algal oil) DHA and EPA per day. But based on hearing this new information, it sounds like us vegans are missing a type of DHA important for eye health. I have always said that I would only consider eating animal products up to the point it’s absolutely necessary for health. This is the first time I have seen a nutrient that doesn’t have a readily available vegan equivalent. So what’s your recommendation?
All this stuff can drive us crazy. How about people that have never touched fish in their lives. I have family members that won't touch any kind of seafood. I will just continue with my vegan algae supplement and dark leafy greens, thank you.
I’m honestly thinking about introducing bivalves into my diet. Although they’re part of the animal kingdom, they don’t have brains and don’t feel pain. Since they’re a great source of omega-3 and probably the most sustainable of animal products, while also containing fewer heavy metals, I think it’s the best choice (or at least for us people concerned about their omega-3 levels).
Eggs are the best food for eye health. "Nutrients: Eggs contain zinc, lutein, zeaxanthin, and vitamin A, which are all important for maintaining healthy eyes. Macular degeneration: Lutein and zeaxanthin can help reduce macular degeneration. The macula is the part of the eye that provides central, detailed vision. Eye infections: Eggs can be good for healthy eyes, and may even help with eye infections."
Depends on the fish. I eat certain species of small mackerel that are very low in environmental toxins and low on the food chain. Not perfect, but no advanced society could ever exist alongside an uninterrupted ecosystem.
A better way to increase heavy metals and other toxins is to eat lots of plants. There is a very long list of them. Spinach has oxalates for instance. Google 'heavy metals in plants'.
@dennisward43 cows eat plants. You also can be exposed to environmental toxins by eating an all beef diet. Can we all just eat our own stupid food and shut up.
I find it sad to promote eating fish the seas are so over fished and they suffocate and feel pain ! Fish are so polluted with heavy metals and plastic I don’t think it’s good to recommend eating them! Fish get their omegas from algae so I would think that clean algae oil would be the best choice for us to supplement with. Dark leafy greens are great for everything. I would never eat a sentient being no matter what anyone says!!
@@Themata yes, because fish aren't eating my food but the bugs are. Oh my God…. I’m in heaven. Two of my favourite YT guys. Thank you. ❤❤❤
I enjoy these midsize episodes so much. PS Also, I appreciate the longer episodes, but I don't usually get to finish those as much.
You can also set the playback speed to 1x or faster.

Meat contains all the nutrients needed for good health. Millions of years of evolution with a vry high meat diet obviously knew what it was doing.
Come to think of it, meat is processed food also :)
Like potatoes, carrots, pasta and rice.

Hmm I’ve taken DHA for years and I have cataracts at 50. I also eat a diet for the last several years with no ultra processed foods.
How did your cataracts start? What did your diet look like at different life stages? I'm really curious so that I could create a hypothesis of my own

Spinach with sardines?
Those suggested amounts of w3 sound so high.

Fish suffer when we catch them. Therefore, there can't be anything exclusive to fish that we need in our diet. Is that what you're saying?
What about killing the sentient bugs that want to eat your leafy greens, they're fair game right?
