I really love how real your being with the decorating proses. Decorating is'nt just a one and done I like how your also showing us how you think like an artist meaning decor artist, and how one space can be staged in many different ways! Thank you!
Hi Alexandra I have a suggestion for you you could install a roller blind in the loft to cover all your items , then when you need to get to things you roll it up and you’ll have full access 😊
It's 3:10am here in England and I've been struggling to sleep. General unsettled feeling. Watching your videos genuinely helps me feel calmer so thank you so much! One tip I would have for anyone going a bit stir crazy is practicing gratitude. I think about three different things morning and evening as well as having a gratitude list I can turn to when I need it. It helps me feel more peaceful and less frustrated. Hope lockdown is going as well as it can for you and your loved ones, stay safe x
Bless you. Wendy here and I have sleep issues too because I'm a nightshift worker. I feel your pain and I'll add you to my prayer list. Blessings to you, Sweetie.🥰⭐🙏🏻
I feel you because it is nearly 2 am in NYC and also feel unsettled with everything that's going on and her videos help to distract from what's going on. Many blessings and stay safe to everyone out there 🙂.
Thank you Chloe. I’m trying to not be so “in my head” about what’s been going on, but it’s hard. I’ve been drinking more, eating and sleeping less. But this morning I thought about what I was grateful for. I called up my parents and told them how I love them incredibly. I said stuff that I’m not sure I would have ever said to them. It was such a peaceful conversation. Gonna take a long, hot bath today and try to find some levity.
Don't be so hard on yourself. Sometimes functional spaces just look that way - functional. You could though cover with a curtain, or a roller blind as suggested by Terri Oakley.
Also for the tv gallery, the last time it felt like it wasn’t incorporated enough because you have white frames, you should get black ones so the tv can really blend in..
Hi Alexandra! Just wanted to say your videos are definitely bringing me joy. Just got off my 12 hour shift at the hospital and watching your videos is the perfect balm after a long day. Sending love from the UK
Love to see that you aren't afraid to redo a space! That is inspiring in itself. Amazing how moving the shelf off center and putting art around the TV brought the space to another level! Big improvement on the loft as well! I agree that the last loft comment were scathing and uncharitable. Glad you are finding joy in the little gifts and blessing we are surrounded by.
I love how you embrace organizing and decorating struggles on video. We all know you are a pro at your craft but not everyone is perfect. It give us more confidence to keep at something because if you keep trying, it’ll eventually come together. Thank you!
I love how you’re so willing to just drill holes and fill/paint them if you change your mind. Once I drill into the wall I feel an anxiety like I better not mess it up, but it’s not a big deal! If you want to cut down on the physical attempts though you could sketch or mock up your ideas first!
Victoria M same kinda, my bedroom closet doesn't have a door and I hate seeing the hanging clothes it just makes me anxious, so I have a curtain hung as the "door" c:
I’m so impressed with those doughnuts! Wow! (I wish they’d deliver to rural Oregon...) I’m a foodie who’s been mostly dairy-free for a couple decades and vegan for over 4 years. I’ve tried a lot of macs and 100% recommend Veggie On A Penny’s vegan cheese sauce recipe (mixed with a good, curly pasta like cavatappi) for amazing dairy-free mac & cheese. It’s great served sprinkled with toasted garlic/herb panko crumbs and sided with steamed broccoli and sliced tomatoes. 👍🏼
I love that you are sharing the fact that it's okay to hate it, then try again! I also love that you were wearing the same outfit two days in a row ... it's good to know that coping with this stress is hard on many of us - and that's OKAY!
This is a lovely video. I totally get it, when I got sick and had to stay indoors for a long time (years ago) I obsessed over my home. The space you are in all the time has to fit you perfectly.
It does look better with everything in its place all organized! You could easily make it more beautiful by adding a sheer white or pink curtain on a spring rod. That would give it some harmony while still allowing you easy access. Good work, Alexandra!
Hi Alexandra, I love your vlogs and your sunny manner. Please keep posting as we are all shut inside and can dearly use something else to think about. Thank you so much.
I like the shelf. Glad you kept it. 😉 Its so funny how its entertaining for me to watch you do decorating and organizing, which is exactly what I have been doing this week too. Lol. I bet there's a LOT of us!
I’ve noticed that your comments sections seem to be some of the most critical I’ve seen on RUclips. I wish I didn’t have a guess as to why that is but unfortunately...I do. 😬 For the record I think your designs, even if sometimes imperfect, are always creative. I HAVE BEEN CRAVING DOUGHNUTS TOO idek what that’s about. I found some cake doughnuts at the grocery store but they just didn’t cut it. My kingdom for a cinnamon twist. And your comment about “most consecutive hours spent at home” is, as the kids say, A MOOD. I’ve been going nuts over home decor/cozying/nesting too. I ordered paint online at Home Depot for delivery (paint colors selected in advance, don’t worry!) and have been working on getting my spare room set up as a home office. For the last year+ it’s been basically a storage room. But I bought this SWANK white leather and gold office chair on Amazon, and a mint green printer, and it’s inspired me to really get the space fixed up.
Hi Alexandra. I also made a quarantine purchase of the screen TV on sale! It's still sitting in the box though, because even the smallest size is too big to incorporate into a gallery wall in my small space (Dublin cottage). You've made it work with the shelf!! Great idea. I agree with the other comments, you are not afraid to rework something and it's really reassuring to see. I always put off starting in case it goes wrong! We are all looking at our own 4 walls too much at the moment! Thanks for your videos. My 10 year old daughter and I love cats and interior design so we really enjoy watching your videos together! xxx
The was so the video I needed. Something relaxed yet productive. Hope you are doing OK all the way in Canada. Hope everyone reading this is doing OK and safe and healthy. You are all warriors who are saving lives by following social distancing and staying home. It truly makes a difference xxxx
I love using clear totes for storage, and I really like how the loft looks now, so much more organized and you can find all of your things. I love that you moved the shelf to the left of the TV, it looks so much better, love the way everything fits around that space and love the other shelf on the wall. Thanks so much for sharing this video, stay safe and healthy and I will see you soon, sending love and hugs, bye for now.
I completely feel you on the fact you've never been so aware of your house as right now. I've been feeling the same! I'm just looking at all my things like "yup, I clearly need new furniture".
I swear, this is so relatable! I’ve been teleworking for a few weeks now. Being home all day makes me look at my home now more-so than I have before. So I started working on some projects throughout my house and although it’s taking a long time to finish them, due to my busy schedule, it feels so good to check them off my list. So. Much. Painting.
I agree that some sort of curtain for the loftspace would be a good idea! 😊 In the livingroom I think you should keep the shelf but remove all that fuss on the bench underneath. Espeacially the tall frame leaning against the wall.
This video was so timely for me. A few weeks ago, I put a picture shelf over my TV and it's been sitting there empty while I tried to figure out what to put there. Lo and behold, I had a stack of coffee table books on the bookcase with no coffee table for them! I popped those up there, added a few things for decor and I'm good to go. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love your vlogs! Sometimes the first try isn't quite right and that's totally fine! Love seeing different ideas come together to find something more your style. Definitely taking that into account when decorating my own home.
Yes! Dairy free living has made my life so much better! Finding vegan places that have your favorite things are a game changer. Also any cooking you do you can usually substitute plant milk from dairy milk and coconut oil for butter. Give it time and you won’t miss it!
I'm with tears in my eyes!😂 I also never stop thinking about what can be upgraded at home. And there are so many! You're amazing that you just get up and make changes until you think it's good. I hope I get up to do some dishes!😅 (And if not. tomorrow...) I'm sorry if the English is wrong. Google Translate
I really enjoyed this video lots of good tips. I love seeing Harriet! Question? Wouldn’t it be fun to display some of your loft storage on the shelving in your bedroom where you also film? Would constantly be changing and cool to display. ❤️
I love how you just kept trying new approaches. I felt like I was in your living room with you while you chatted with me 😃 I was thinking that a suspension rod with strings of Pom Poms hanging vertically would look so cute as a ‘curtain’ for your loft! A very ‘Alexandra’ creative touch don’t you think? 😍 🧶
Decorates other people's spaces ONCE! Decorates own space again...and again....and again lol! Your newest arrangement looks great too! Good on you for using this 'off time' wisely! I've been cracking some projects off my ' to do ' list - but I still have many to go! Well done you!
YES! LIVING for the organization! There’s just something so satisfying about decluttering! I recently did a declutter video too! No excuse since we have to stay home! Great video, girl! Keep these motivational videos coming! 💛
Loved this video so much! Literally felt like we were just hanging out, and I’ve been losing my mind being stuck at home, and I keep re-organizing my things too, definitely enjoyed this vlog making me realize I’m not the only one that can’t stop redecorating!
I have a photo shelf above my tv in the bedroom, but I think it works because it extends past the tv. If mine was small like yours, I think having it off to the side would be the way to go. I love how it turned out!
First of all, if the storage organization works for you, then it's completely fine. Not everything is always going to be 100% aesthetic. That's life. We all can have a Monica Geller Closet. Also I get the gallery wall. I had to re do mine soooooooo many times. Plus I go thru stages where I want everything as minimalist as possible and other times I want it to look like a flea market threw up 😅 Love your vids! They are keeping me motivated!
I just paused the video, hung up a shelf slightly off-center above my bed and a picture next to that and now I‘m back here. Thank you for the inspiration, I love it!!
I have a dairy allergy, so I haven't eaten dairy in about 3 years. One of my faves is the Non-Dairy Fudge Chocolate ice cream from Ben & Jerry's!! Definitely satisfy's a chocolate craving. If you're looking for a dip (best with rice crackers), try the Spread 'Em Kitchen Co. cashes cheezes, I love the chives & garlic one. It's also made in Vancouver, so supporting Canadians!
Hi, Alexadra! Noticed your dish drainer while I was enjoying watching you reorganize your kitchen shelves. Little suggestion for you: I too have a tiny kitchen and no dishwasher. I ordered the greatest 2 tier dish drainer from Amazon. At first I worried a bit about its sturdiness, all for naught! While it was $40, it was the best investment I've made. I love your show, so cute. So helpful!
I liked the first gallery wall that you did, but I love the refreshed look even more. I live in a small space and it can go from balanced to cluttered very quickly. Even something as small as moving a photo shelf can make a huge difference!
I'd put a diy curtain and tension rod or what someone else said some doors to close it off so you can't see anything make it like a storage closet but I do love everything in clear containers all organized! Love your videos!
Girl! Youre tougher than you realise. I probably wouldve collapsed into a blub of hurt and frustration. But you powered through the hard work with a grace and composure that resonates so well with me. Congrats on the clean up. Youre amazeballs and such a sweet natured young woman. #cool #GoHardSista #loveUrwork
Omg I'm in love with this reorganizing this time.... the first time I saw these loft organizing video I was like.. cue but is going to get cluttered really quickly and it totally did now it's so much neater and too make it aesthetic you could do a macrame curtain or something to cover as like an art feature but it would also be functional to hide the bins. The living room gallery wall was nice the first time but I definitely felt like there should've been shelving the first time so seeing the pinterest picture of what you were wanting to change it to I was like yes!!!! And once you did it I was even more like yes!!!!!❤❤ I think everything seems more cohesive and organized and aesthetic in the whole space now...I would love to have your place as my own now and it gives me such motivation and inspiration now to accomplish the same for my own space.
Watching your vlog is so refreshing and optimistic, and most than anything, it is relatable, so thank you! :) ❤️ Re-designing and planning for the future also helps me keep my motivation, though at times it gets a bit frustrating when i cannot complete projects due to isolation.. 😅 You could try homemaking vegan chocolate mousse, it is delicious and guilt-free (does not have bad fats nor sugar). It takes about 5-10 mins to make it (blend all together). Keep in the fridge, not too long 'cause it oxides. 4 (ripe) avocados 1 banana 4 (or according to taste) spoons of cocoa (or carob powder) 2 spoons of water a tiny bit of salt (to amplify the taste) 4 spoons of honey (or maple syrup) 2-3 spoons of coconut oil (optional: vanilla or cinnamon)
So many good ideas in comments to conceal and cover functionally!! I was going to suggest some slide curtains from Ikea (cut to fit), or sheer curtains on a dowel... BUT put a strip of rope lights at the bottom of the loft and the up light will give a nice ambience as well as front lighting the curtains so you won’t see what’s behind them if they’re sheer
I love your organization tips and people sometimes is way too sensitive and at the same time way to aggresive. You keep on doing you job because it helps a lot of people to cope with the actual context. Take care! Love from Chile
I love your mad organization skills! I was thinking that your storage area would also be a great place to add a fun print or some color with a piece of fabric hung on a tension rod. Things would be hidden and you'd have a fun print to look at and it's renter friendly!
Been LOVING your content lately! I mean, you're one of my favorite youtubers anyway, but the at-home vids are so personal to you and feel easier to replicate!! (Also, YES to vegan swaps!!!!)
Hi Alexandra! I really love watching your shows, and learning great new hacks for organization and decorating. I just watched this episode and wondered if you have ever thought of turning your loft into a little reading nook with cushions. I realize you would need to find another place to store what’s up there now, but I think it would be worth it!🥰 God bless you, friend!❤️
I’ve recently decluttered my wardrobe before repainting it and it made me so anxious to have all the stuff out 😅 but you are so right it gets worse before it gets better - and so worth it 😍 thank you for bringing such an uplifting content during this uncertain time☺️
You should have Dani Burger make a sliding farm door to close off the loft opening
I was thinking a pretty printed fabric curtain diy but this sounds more sophisticated
Chantal not sure if here’s room to slide.
I was thinking of a straw or rattan blind that she could raise/ lower or some white sheers hung on a rod
Painted canvas cloth so it covers the opening but looks like a piece of artwork.
I was thinking of drapes or beads.
I really love how real your being with the decorating proses. Decorating is'nt just a one and done I like how your also showing us how you think like an artist meaning decor artist, and how one space can be staged in many different ways! Thank you!
BohoChick totally agree!
Hi Alexandra I have a suggestion for you you could install a roller blind in the loft to cover all your items , then when you need to get to things you roll it up and you’ll have full access 😊
oh, that would be sharp!
Love that idea. She could paint the roller blinds too. So that it looks like a piece of art when it’s down.
Great minds think alike. I think the same thing.
I had a similar idea except using a curtain since they come with different designs. Wall art. Lol
or even a patterned curtain?

Alexandra, you could hang curtains over the loft, although someone suggested sliding farm doors and I love this idea too!
I was going to suggest this too!! Could use a tension rod so you dont have to drill holes or anything.
A pom pom curtain! 🤗
@@leonorquezada9996 omg this! We sell pom pom curtains at work at Boscovs but sadly we don't ship to Canada. ☹
I was going to suggest this exact same thing!!!
IM EARLY! Can't wait to watch :)
Mostly me going stir crazy and redecorating the same wall 100 times. HALP.
How fun to see you here, Lone Fox! I love you! I feel like I just bumped into a celebrity out & about!!! 💕
Don't be so hard on yourself. Sometimes functional spaces just look that way - functional. You could though cover with a curtain, or a roller blind as suggested by Terri Oakley.
Yep! I am also obsessed with moving things around and playing.
I really like your upbeat, sweet attitude.
Also for the tv gallery, the last time it felt like it wasn’t incorporated enough because you have white frames, you should get black ones so the tv can really blend in..
Yes, the black frame of the TV is the main factor why it looks strange.
Can’t really decide if I like the old-new or new-new tv update more 😄 all I know is that the bench is 👌
Hi Alexandra!
Once I drill into the wall
I feel an anxiety like I better not mess it up, but it’s not a big deal! If you want to cut down on the physical attempts though you could sketch or mock up your ideas first!
3rd times a charm on the gallery wall! lol!! Love it Alexandra! Always more difficult to change your own place than someone else's! Love your vlog!
Hi, i have a doorless closet in my living room, so I put up a tension rod and draped some curtains.
Victoria M same kinda, my bedroom closet doesn't have a door and I hate seeing the hanging clothes it just makes me anxious, so I have a curtain hung as the "door" c:
OMG, I just posted this same thing...3 months later...lol.
No matter how many decluttering videos you do, they always make my day. Love your videos!
Yes, we are walking nearly everyday! I love the gallery wall now. Stay safe, much LOVE.
Gawd, I’m so glad you moved that shelf to the side!!! When I saw it above the tv I was like, noooooooooo 😅 looks great.
It does look better with everything in its place all organized! You could easily make it more beautiful by adding a sheer white or pink curtain on a spring rod. That would give it some harmony while still allowing you easy access. Good work, Alexandra!

I like the shelf. Glad you kept it. 😉 Its so funny how its entertaining for me to watch you do decorating and organizing, which is exactly what I have been doing this week too. Lol. I bet there's a LOT of us!
You are a good motivation!
I'm watching you from the quarantine, from Athens Greece. Keep up the good work! You have a wonderful smile!
Love the new gallery wall. And I can relate to filling holes I've put in the walls. Real life feels!

The walls look really nice 😁 live the shelves. I never would have thought to put the shelf of centre. I love it.
I’d love to hear about your favorite decoration books Alexandra! Loving your channel even more these days...
With the loft, I think a mini curtain on a tension rod in your favorite color. Hides stuff plus gives you a faux window. Love your show.
I agree that some sort of curtain for the loftspace would be a good idea! 😊
In the livingroom I think you should keep the shelf but remove all that fuss on the bench underneath. Espeacially the tall frame leaning against the wall.
I've been thinking of putting up the exact same shelf above my TV!! Thank you for doing this, now I know it will look great!
The kitty sitting there with you while you are working was so adorable!

You are adorable and such a nice, relaxing alternative in our quarantined state!
Add a beautiful curtain on a tension rod. 🤗 You could even use a fabric that has books on it to give the feel of a library to tie in with the ladder.💕

Took your basket advice, corralled my phone & tablet cords. Makes such a difference, side table looks so much cleaner. Thank you!
i love your creativeness in doing things that brings joy to you
Oh alexandra I love the tv wall. And the shelf with books is so neat.and you are so right. I try to go for walks or dit outside. It helps so much.
I love how you just kept trying new approaches. I felt like I was in your living room with you while you chatted with me 😃 I was thinking that a suspension rod with strings of Pom Poms hanging vertically would look so cute as a ‘curtain’ for your loft! Love your ideas! Can you make more videos during this time that we are in? Very inspirational and motivational. Love what you are doing.
Love the KIS boxes & the little ones which fit four into the bigger one.

I’m not sure if that second “it always gets worse before it gets better” was in reference to the sirens, but if it was I felt that deeply.
same

Me as well...
same, that got too real
Same!
Always love Alexandra Gater videos. Stay safe and healthy, everyone. :)
I love your tenacity with the galley wall. I love changing around my apartment also. Take care of yourself.
YES! LIVING for the organization! There’s just something so satisfying about decluttering! I recently did a declutter video too! No excuse since we have to stay home! Great video, girl! Keep these motivational videos coming! 💛
A macrame curtain would look so nice up there, you should DIY it 😬👌🏻
Omg yes for the loft I second this motion!!!!
I just love watching the de
clutter videos and yours especially thanks for always being so positive sending you lots of good health and blessings
Omg! I love the shelf placement above the tv. You nailed it! 🥰
Loved this video so much! Literally felt like we were just hanging out, and I’ve been losing my mind being stuck at home, and I keep re-organizing my things too, definitely enjoyed this vlog making me realize I’m not the only one that can’t stop redecorating!

Thank you for inviting us to your beautiful home Alexandra.
I’m glad u put a shelf back over ur table! Maybe add a plant? Love the tv wall now too. 👌
Hi Alexandra, love your videos, you are not afraid to show a work in progress, lots of love and hugs from the Shetland islands xxx
I just paused the video, hung up a shelf slightly off-center above my bed and a picture next to that and now I‘m back here. Thank you for the inspiration, I love it!!
I love the idea of using pretty curtains to close your loft space. Continue doing such a realistic and great channel(s) for decorating and organizing.
A cafe booth with an L-shaped bench and rectangular table would look amazing in your dining space 😍
loving the shelves, they really make a big difference and a very good one :D
I have a dairy allergy, so I haven't eaten dairy in about 3 years. One of my faves is the Non-Dairy Fudge Chocolate ice cream from Ben & Jerry's!! Definitely satisfy's a chocolate craving. So helpful!
You are so cheery! I enjoy watching you. I love the loft!
I liked the first gallery wall that you did, but I love the refreshed look even more. I live in a small space and it can go from balanced to cluttered very quickly. Even something as small as moving a photo shelf can make a huge difference!
So very glad you are feeling better. I was worried about you. Your living room looks lovely! Good job.
I love the updated gallery wall! Would’ve never thought to push the shelf so off center!
Thank you for the video Alexandra. Loved the gallery wall! 😃
I'd put a diy curtain and tension rod or what someone else said some doors to close it off so you can't see anything make it like a storage closet but I do love everything in clear containers all organized! Love your videos!
You change it again! And again! Lol!
I wish I have your enthusiasm! 👏👏👏❤️
i love how you address/deflect negative comments like that. XD good job!
This was soooo satisfying. I love when you film these!!!
Love your vlogs, Alexandra, you are so inspiring, girl!!!
Love these videos!! But that siren part got to me too!! Sending hugs and love!! 💜
Definitely as many suggest, tension rod & cute curtain! Something that would not stand out to much! Good luck
Love the new look in your living room and nook
Watching your vlog is so refreshing and optimistic, and most than anything, it is relatable, so thank you! :) ❤️
Re-designing and planning for the future also helps me keep my motivation, though at times it gets a bit frustrating when i cannot complete projects due to isolation.. 😅
You could try homemaking vegan chocolate mousse, it is delicious and guilt-free (does not have bad fats nor sugar). It takes about 5-10 mins to make it (blend all together). Keep in the fridge, not too long 'cause it oxides.
4 (ripe) avocados
1 banana
4 (or according to taste) spoons of cocoa (or carob powder)
2 spoons of water
a tiny bit of salt (to amplify the taste)
4 spoons of honey (or maple syrup)
2-3 spoons of coconut oil
(optional: vanilla or cinnamon)
How interesting. I just bought a clear bin yesterday to organize with!!!
Loved that “hope you got a little break from reality” literally so relatable
I think the frames leaning on the TV stand under the TV is why it might feel more cluttered! i love your videos thanks for the breath of fresh air
Been LOVING your content lately! I mean, you're one of my favorite youtubers anyway, but the at-home vids are so personal to you and feel easier to replicate!! (Also, YES to vegan swaps!!!!)
Love the rearrangement of the TV wall. Looks great! Just curious, how do you use the small closet desk now?
