      Well liberals are all about creating conflict to further their fantasy Utopian world, so they really aren't into the reality of anthropology and how almost every culture over the eons that had the opportunity has borrowed ideas, foods, arts and weapons, anything they liked from other cultures that they come across. It natural human behavior. You copy the things you like. As the saying goes "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". It's not cultural appropriation. If one went by this stupid liberal concept then borrowing a recipe from someone not of your ethnic, racial or nation would be a cultural appropriation.

      Muchas gracias por esta receta! Estos son mi marido favorito pero aprendo de mi suegra que lo hace usando el camal primero, cortando luego freír ... la mía siempre salió como pan pita 😲 gracias a tu video puedo saltarme el camal!!!! Y estoy seguro de que mi suegra estará feliz de que mi marido no tendrá que molestarla para hacerlos. (o no tan a menudo de todos modos.) Por supuesto que su cocina también lo es. 🤗

      Oh Angie, you have to try them, if you ever go to Mexico, you will find these in every food truck in Mexico, they are so popular, these kind of food that you find in food trucks are call "Antojitos", and they are mostly the same thing, "corn flour and water" cooked and shaped in different ways, filled or topped with different fillings... and even though they all are mostly the same ingredients, they taste so different, and are soo freaking good... I could eat these every day.. .but they are not healthy at all.. but when I do eat them, they are worth every calorie!

    What happens if you dont have a thermometer and just numbers on the stove top what would be the good temperature for the oil? Medium heat or low or maybe high heat?

    • @slolita1
      @slolita1  9 лет назад +1

      kaci birchfield medium heat, if the heat is too high, the oil will get really hot and the gorditas will get really toasty :D ... just let the oil heat up first for about 2-3 minutes... you will know is heated enough when you insert a wooden spoon right in the middle of the skillet and the oil become bubbly... :D

  • @pattimalone3528

    Can you prepare these ahead of time for a party? I was thinking of making the gorditas the day before and filling them the day of-about 8 hours before serving! Can you help with this? Thank you!

    • @aurelioquinonez2019
      @aurelioquinonez2019 6 лет назад

      Patti Malone. You may prepare the filling ahead of time and the reheat.But the gorditas have to be freshly made at the time you are gonna eat them otherwise the tortilla will get soggy and it will not taste the same.

    • @slolita1
      @slolita1  10 лет назад

      Hi Eemmy, thanks a lot for watching, what do you mean with "Clear skin"?, it think is the lighting, I'm in front of a window, so it's really bright and sunny, I do have lots of freckles on my face :D, so if you mean clear like "spotless", trust me, that's not the case, I do have lots of freckles on my face... and if you mean clear like "light", my skin color is actually like yellowish brown, kind of olive skin tone, so I think my skin looks like that because of the natural lighting, I always place the camera in front of my kitchen window and it's a huge window, so it lets a lot of natural light in :D

    I was wondering if there is an alternative to vegetable oil? I hear cooking with vegetable oil can transfer trans fat. Just curious if anyone have any alternatives.

      Trans fat only comes about when vegetable oils are hydrogenated, which makes them thicker. You don't have to worry about them with liquid cooking oils like this, they contain no trains fats.
