Hi Yoon Pooi Kuan, thank you for the comment 😀 I'm not sure as I've not returned to Thailand for a few years now. Yes, in KL Malaysia, they are really expensive. I could only get a handful of them for one dish. You're welcome, I hope you will be able to get an abundance of petai 😀
Hii..when is the season for petai in thailand..
็Hi Jeena Devi, around July - August. Thanks for the question.
How can you bring this one across country also with worm,,it is eligle.
Hi Babe Tan. Ops! 😥
Gosh I throw away some because I don’t know how to differentiate spoiled from gd ones n it’s really expensive ! Wa but I don’t think I seen worms
I only keep abt two weeks but in fridge
Hi Metta JY, thank you for sharing 😀 Yes, usually they cannot be differentiated from the outside. Have to open and check to see if there are holes or worms. And they are quite expensive. When I keep them in the fridge, I usually wrap with paper to absorb the moisture in an airtight container, and change the paper every now and then to prevent them from sweating. Hope it helps 😀
Yongchak is manipuri words which means monkey rice (because of its tall height). Where are you from?
Thank you for sharing. I am from Malaysia. Where are you from?

Nice, Thanks :)
No worms were harmed in the making of this video
Hi Philip Ball, thank you for the comment 😄
In the Hmar language spoken by the tribal people of northeast India "Stink Bean" or" Petai" is called " Zongtra"(Zawngțah) which means monkey bean probably because monkeys are eating it when it is ripe
Thank you for the sharing 😄 I learned something new 😄
but the water will absorb the juice...fresh is fresh
Hi Redfort sdnbhd, Yes, it will just a bit. Thank you for the comment. 🙏😀
stink beannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!
Hi Gabriel Joseph, yayyyyyyyyyyyyy 😄
Once you defrost the petai, it already lost the crunchiness isn't it
Hi Ivy Lim, thank you for the feedback 😀 When it's defrosted, I find that it looses about 25% of its crunchiness - however, the taste and fragrance are still intact. Hope it helps 😀
Or just soak it in a big bowl.
Hi anne k. Thanks for the comment.
So boring must u show all the 5 packet to freeze
Hi Diana saw poh lean. Thank you for the comment and feedback. This video was created long time ago and it does not have script or anything.
