It’s nice to see what the FX30 can do. I mostly use the Sony 11mm f1.8, 15mm f1.4, and 35mm f1.4. All great lenses.
I love those fast apertures. That will give you some nice background blur

Excellent lens comparison. Definitely some great choices there. I happen to have the Viltrox 24mm f/1.8 lens, and like its other lenses it's very sharp and fast with my Sony FX30. I also have the Sigma 16mm f/1.4, which also works perfectly with my camera.

Yes, those are great lenses to have. The Viltrox shows all the details, and the Sigma is great too. Which of those two is your favorite?

I'm using a Tamron 17-70mm f2.8 (25-105mm full-frame) on my FX30, I bought it just only $500 (used), it's sharp and the auto focus is perfect. For me it's a great choice for an all-purpose lens.
That sounds great. The Tamron 17-70mm f2.8 is a great all-purpose lens. That was a great choice. Do you have any other lenses?
This is what I'd like to say. It came out for the aps-c sensor, has a stabilization function on its own, can blur the background so well d/t the low aperture value, and the new product is relatively cheap at about 800 bucks.
People say that the VC of tamron fights with the IBIS and the stabilization sucks because of that(it makes these weird jumps) is that true guys? I want to buy the tamron too
I have the Trinity 7Artisan 25,35,55 and I also use the 28-75 2.8. I have other lenses but these are the main ones I go to. I want to get a Sig 16mm

I just traded in 2 Sony ZVEV10 and a bunch of stuff for the FX30. I have 1 lens which is the Sigma 18-50mm and am thinking of getting a wider angle lens. Wanted your opinion on whether the 11mm Sony with the clear image zoom makes it a effectively a 11-16.5mm zoom is a better option than either the 11-20mm tamron or the 10-20 Sony PZ. The size is the biggest selling point.

I have a tamron 17-70 2.8 lens. Can you suggest me an affordable ultrawide-wide variable lens? Tamron 11-20 is a good option but I want a fast lens.

I’ve never owned a camera, then I watched about 100h of RUclips on videography this year and just bought an fx30. I’m super excited to get filming but all I could afford was a wide prime to start out so I went with the classic Sigma 16mm 1.4. I love it but I can’t wait to get a tele lens. Probably going with the Tamron. Thanks for the video!

Bit off topic but I’d love to see your editing process in FCP. I just got FCP and for some reason I cannot for the life of me get it to work with multiple frame rates in the same timeline. Would be great to see a tutorial with multiple frame rates to slow down and speed up footage etc

I really appreciate how you work through the practical application of features and benefits. Quick question: I'm stepping up my video shooting priorities to focus primarily on live music / music video production. I'd appreciate your thoughts on a quality rig to start with. If I were basing my decision solely on this video, then I'd lean towards an FX30 with the Zeiss 35mm f1.4 lens. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much!!!

I'm currently using A6300 with Tamron and it is marvelous! Can't wait to get an FX30 and use it with Tamron, but also Sigma 30/1.4

@@thefilmalliance I ended up getting the fx30 , I like to shoot music videos for friends but have been doing it on iPhones the last three years , decided to take it up a notch , but I just found the a7siii and lenses and sd cards and cage and MacBook was too much past my budget to start , so I opted for the fx30!

Sony should update the kit lens. There is the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8, but it has no image stabilization. I have the Tamron 17-70mm f2.8. I find it amazing for 80% of my needs on many assignments. It is sharp and contrasty, great stabilization. Just a bit chunky to use as an every day lens to bring with you. I sold the Sony 16-55 2.8 after getting the Tamron and never looked back.
I just bought a Fuji XT30ii with 15-45mm kit lens as a small everyday camera, Nice colors, compact. But the autofocus, usability do not match the Sony. The OIS of the Tamron seems better than the Fuji lenses. I still have some time to play with the camera.
Probably A6600 or A6700 + Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 are a good everyday APSC camera. Sony needs a new 16-50mm. Or a Nikon Z50, its kit lens seems better. I like the colors of my Nikon full frame. Seem to require less editing than Sony.
Handheld vlogging with ZV-E10 what would be your pick? Lightweight no gimble.
My pick would be SONY 11 mm F1.8 because it’s light, wide and sharp. Hope that helps!

@@thefilmalliance I'm mostly land, city and portrait photography. I have some gigs coming up and they keep asking me do I do video. I have also a A7R3 and a A7IV. I don't care about the 60p crop (that's just youtube community pushing stuff 99% don't need) I was just thinking do I need a only vid camera or stay hybrid?
I dont think that you need the Fx30. It might come in handy at certain times especially when shooting outside in the hot sun, but other than that hybrid will work fine.

If you want to save money and get the best sony lens… get the sony 16-55 f2.8, this lens can get everything in one lens for your sony fx30.

Not even one of the Sigma 1.4 Trio? Sorry but can't take this seriously. They have been considered one of the best APS AF lenses for years.
