@michael lynch, my first console was the Atari 2600. I really don't care how extensive your collection is. Just because people like Kojima doesn't make them fanboys. I am going to play Death Stranding and I know I will love it for what it is, not because Kojima made it, but because I know I will like the new gameplay. I actually played MGSV and I don't think it's an awesome game, it's ok, but not awesome.
So many people jumping on the hate bandwagon because a few reviewers didn't like it. The thing is that the majority of reviewers on Metacritic give it 9/10 or more. There's actually more reviewers giving it 10/10 than there is reviewers giving it under 7/10. So suck that dick, wanker!

i feel like, Kojima does needs a partner that's a bit more grounded. Konami had to pull Kojima from Lost Warld and hand him a "Military" game, for him to create the metal gear series. And not with free rein as an indie developer, he's made a game where you're a courier on foot in an apocalyptic wasteland. He's a brilliant creative, but i think his pure uncensored vision is niche and intentionally obtuse. Can't wait to see what he does next. I'd like to see him take on an existing IP, PT/Silent hills looked to be a classic.

DYKG isn't just ONE person making videos like it's fucking hard to get one video out a month or something. It's a TEAM of people making constant amounts of content every single week. And you're telling me they couldn't bother to re-allocate ANY of that production on a brand new channel that they advertised and touted to the moon and back like it was the best new thing and the most ambitious extention of the "Did You Know" brand, only to make 8 videos and then fucking quit like a bitch and not touch it for 7 months, while they seem to put out about 11 videos a month on HERE?
      Bull fucking shit.
They were lazy, they put all that time and effort into making the channel and promoting it and then fucking gave up like some amateur kid who has no idea what they're even doing. It's bizarre that a brand that is so highly regarded, tries a big brand extention, puts so much false hope into it and then just leaves it to die and pretends it's still worth throwing into the end slate. And it's stupid that they're still promoting it even though we know for a fact that channel is dead. That's pathetic.

Just to clarify for some why Kojima couldn't receive the award for MGS5:
    Short answer: Legal reasons. Period.
LONG ANSWER: In Japan once an individual detaches from an entertainment company they will be "banned" from interactions that directly involves the same company, this is most common in the Live Action (Tokusatsu) Genre, such example being in Kamen Rider and most noticeable through the Zi-O series that ended Heisei Era of Kamen Riders, but still some key actors could not appear because they either had their schedule full OR had defected from the talent company they belonged to, and because of that they weren't allowed anywhere near the stages where something related to Kamen Rider was going on.
