The greatest character this world has ever seen! He chose family above honor two times in his life: when he promised Lyanna to protect Jon and when he decided to confess "his treason" because Sansa was in capture in Kings Landing.

And then go on to live his life a lie, lying to himself, lying to his children, lying to everyone and anyone by means of portraying himself as a man of honor. Jaime Lannister was subjected to Ned Stark's hostility when in actuality Ned had one of his men stab Ser Arthur Dayne in the back. Total and complete coward.
@@TangledEarth Ned didn't have his man stab him in the back the guy just did it to protect his friend. He kept the whole thing secret because of the promise to Lyanna so that's just nonsense. In the books he's made it clear that Reed saved him so you're just talking trash at this point.
He wasn't strongest, he wasn't prettiest but he was bravest.

A dark story about Ned
Ned Stark should be a night watch like his little brother if nothing went wrong. But there are 2 highlight moments changed his life. First highlight is when he became the lord of Winterfell. The second one is when he became the king’s hand. There would be the 3rd highlight for him if he successfully kicked Joffrey out of Iron throne by accusing Joffrey is not Robert’s son with army backing him up.
Ned became the lord of Winterfell because someone provide information to Varys that the Starks, are going to rebel and the Mad king burned these traitors (according to S7E5 Varys talked to the little imp about why Mad king burned Ned’s father and elder brother). Again Ned became the king’s hand because the original king’s hand Arryn was killed by someone.
Ned asked someone to prepare the army for his 3rd highlight moment but got betrayed. Why Ned why you asked the little finger to prepare the army for you! Maybe Ned had some partnership experience with little finger. Maybe they both benefit form achieved the same goals together before. So he trusted the little finger with this importance task.
「Don’t trust me」 the little finger said to Ned when Ned was the king’s hand. The whole sentence should be:「Don’t trust me unless you are sure that I have better profit to ally with you than anyone else」. But this time Tywin is a better choice because in the game of throne Tywin is a smarter player.
This is a Ned-is-dark story I mean Ned stark story.

While i respect Eddard and i think he was definitely a rare breed especially in that world i still feel he did wrong by Jon, allowing his wife to treat him as she did and of course never telling Jon the truth. He let him go to the wall and swear a vow to an order that would literally strip him of all his heritage. He was purposely gonna let the Targaryen line end as well.. He should have at least told Jon the truth before he swore his life away. The one thing i cant forgive him for personally.
JPShadow yes but you have to remind that the Targaryen’s killed Ned’s father and brother, he had no love for that line. He didn’t want to kill Dany because he doesn’t believe in murdering children. Besides his best friend was king and he knew that any Targaryen would jeopardize his reign so he didn’t tell Jon. I think the only reason he took and loved Jon was because he was Lyanna’s son, a stark by blood. “You might not have my name but you have my blood”. We have to remember that the Targaryen’s weren’t good rulers especially in the end and Ned fought on the opposite side of them.
@@paycunha6092 Ned fought for justice and to depose Aerys, but its never stated that his intention was to put Robert on the throne. And yes the Targaryens did hurt his family it wasnt Jon who did it. Also for Ned to continue to support Robert, who rewarded the people that murdered innocent children just goes to prove even further that Ned really wasnt that great. Robert rewarded the men who killed Jons brother and sister and then let Jon who was i believe 14 or 15 in the books, but he let a kid go and swear his life away all based on a lie. I lile to think if Lyanna was around she would have beat Neds ass. But thats just my opinion. Ned is still a good guy but he did wrong by Jon.
@@JPShadow Stark didn't exactly support the decision to kill the royal children, I believe he left Kings Landing in a rage and despised Tywin Lannister for it
@@JPShadow I think he thought by doing all this with Jon he was protecting him from himself.
On the one hand he has a right to know, but on the other hand if he did know then chances are Jon would bring about rebellion, chaos, and the death of himself and countless others.
I think to be honest with Cat he just had no idea how to handle his wife's hate for Jon without telling her which he wouldn't do as it would put Jon in danger
@@Peoples_Republic_of_Devonshire I know, but he still supported Robert and his rule as King. You cant tell me that ned couldnt have raised jon to be a much better king.
