I love everyones total 180 on Zhezhi, Xiangli Yao and this entire patch as a whole. Everyone before they came out and the patch launched everyone wrote it off as like boring filler with boring looking characters. After actually playing it and realizing who they are, and what this was everyone appreciated them. Not only that but Zhezhi ended up being a lot more fun than people realized, and also the story helped create that emotional attachment. Super hyped to see what Xiangli Yao has in store. HE. IS. THAT. BOI.
Everything in Xiangli Yao's showcase seems to be a metaphor, like the meaning of her severed hand is that he made a sacrifice or at least something in her search for her father that ultimately resulted in her hand being severed.

i finished the event and he's so cute! he has such soft facial expressions while talking to rover. that said, i was not expecting him to have a darker side/alter ego like we see in the trailer but it was a nice surprise. it just made me like him even more lmao also don't know if you're aware but after you do the main festival quest and you gain more popularity there are zhezhi and xiangli yao extra quests, xiangli yao's quest in specific really felt like we were on a date with him like in some shoujo anime style😭
been a fan of his jp voice actor since he voiced hiroto kuuga in gundam build divers: re-rise. both hiroto and xiangliyao are nerds that lost someone important in their life and had problems going forward with their lives. somehow chiaki kobayashi has a knack on voicing those kind of characters, because he also voiced gabimaru from jigoku raku.
The JP VA is Mash from Mashle and in a bunch of popular animes like Frieren. Really fitting imo because Mash is like super calm collected and also honest and nice :) (I started watching Mashle because of this wuthering waves trailer LOL its so good I cried so much)
please don't forget to do the event, he's free only if you reach lvl.6 on the reputation thingy, he appears a lot and has a really cute and nice personality!
You don't need to reach lvl6 (lvl 5 is 50k popularity) you just need 6k popularity so you can just grind the event for an hour or less and you're good to go. So no worries.

@재현7704 we're on the same boat dude. recently had to let a girl down because of this and the mere thought of leading someone on and playing with their feelings, I find repulsive. especially since she was so nice and pretty. I like to remind myself sexuality and attraction is a spectrum and despite society pressuring you to label yourself, it's just not realistic. we'll find someone one day, and more than likely, if they're the right person, their gender won't matter. goodluck man. :)
Tbh I still don't understand "HE IS FOR FREE?" That people use.. like.. in the end of the day.. he is a limited character. Anyone who missed 1.2 will not get him for free. One day he will have his rerun, and it took 80 hard pity to get him, and has some chance to lose 50/50. He has to be good, even if he is free for now.
@@NutMaster3000-z8c far better. Cal is good, but has so much clunky-ness and deficiency in his kit. Not only Xiangli Yao "fix" it, but also has tons more dmg multiplication than Cal as well.
@@ArsevensX Yea Calcharo's combat is by far the clunkiest in the entire roster imo, and with the introduction of Yao's kit, he's probably gonna bench Calcharo's for the time being, but despite this imma still play and build those two cause of the coolness factor alone, but I can tell there will be a split of opinion from the community cause of this 🙃 I just hope we're gonna learn more about Calcharo when we get to New Federation, because I'm very intrigued by his character, and to see him getting crept on before getting formally introduced in the story is a insane move from Kuro 😭
